We had a fantastic experience Saturday night for our boys 13th Birthday. Service was outstanding, as for food , all plates completely empty. That says it all .

Visiting from Adelaide and I don’t have anything nice to say. We rang and booked and asked for an outside table so the younger kids could play on the playground. We went 30mins later to our booking to be told that they shut outside and placed us on a different table. I had to ask where menus were as none were given or in view. Complained that the only ID I had (I’m 40) was a SA digital ID. Then lined up for 30mins to order our food, then another 10mins to get drinks. Food was very average. A lot of food wasted. Garlic bread the worst I’ve ever had anywhere. We’re not given kid activity books that were part of kids meal. Autistic child got in trouble for sitting on the floor (we would’ve never gone if they told us the playground was closed). Then waited about 30mins for kids ice cream. Watched so many staff members walk past and not one said anything. When asked if someone would serve us the reply was “if someone walks by”. Absolutely disgraceful service and they should be ashamed of themselves. Definitely not a family friendly place and do not attempt to go here if you don’t want to stand in line for 30 plus minutes. Avoid at all costs!!

Very slow with serving our meals-over an hour. When we asked we were told "we serve the easiest first not who orders first". Meal quality itself was less than average

Very impressed, meals were presented beautifully. Not huge meals but enough to fill us all up. Mia goring was a first time experience - loved it, bit if you don't like spice stay away. My grandson tried mine and he thought it was rather good. Snitzels were good as was the mini mixed gril.

This place has good and delicious lamb, pork and beef roasts, nice dinner rolls and great complimentary desserts depends; the pavlova and fruit was the best one so far😁👍. They have delicious cheesy garlic bread 😋 must try, and great and tasty beef schnitzel with a nice garlic sauce, and tasty veggies & salad, having big portions. Good lemon lime bitters too. The beef steak; surf & turf is flavourful & cooked well so delicious. The oysters kilpatrick is tasty it’s worth it. Inconsistent service sometimes can take a long time to get your food it depends. Comfortable sitting and nice atmosphere, thanks guys👍✌️. Photos by: jesusbelievers_noah I.G & F.B

They have very good sandwiches there. Meat tray raffles on Thursday and Friday nights from 7:00. P.M. The bistro is open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week with a roast for lunch on Sundays. There is a set menu as well as the daily specials.....and a children's menu. The prices are quite reasonable. Go to their website and check it out

Shocking service, shocking food, amazed they are still in business, but it's Broken Hill, with the emphasis on the word Broken! It's an insult to stars that I have to leave one!

Shame on you Demo club. We have been several times and in the passed enjoyed you wonderful Mixed Grill. We buy it everytime. But on the 20/01/2024 We ordered again. We received it without No Salad 200g Sirloin steak We asked the waitress and she came back with two Shribbled up, dry steaks and a salad that had two small leafs and one cherry tomato which wasn’t even half of the mini bowl it came in. We were told they have a new Apprentice. Does the food the apprentice cook, get checked? Apparently NOT. For $42 , this was very disappointing.. We are hesitant to come back and at the stage, wouldn’t recommend to any of our visitors to eat here. Such a shame.

Overall the steak was over burnt and the fish was very limited, yet the waiter said that it was actually supposed to be quite large. The vegetable were quite dry and unappetizing. The salad was average. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to other customers.

Our whole table waited over an hour for our food. Order the scotch fillet wasn't worth the money!

Ordered the pesto pasta but couldn't eat it as it was swimming in oil. Hubby ordered the mixed grill for $52. Sausage wasn't cooked. Egg was broken, the juicy rissole (stated on the menu) was dry and had no flavour. 200g scotch fillet came out on a separate plate and was dry and unedible and so thin and almost burnt. Bacon was undercooked and onion rings oily. Won't be going back

On Friday 6/10 we went to the Demo for a birthday gathering, 12 people. I'm posting a pic of my meal. That mush was meant to be a Chicken Wellington. The pastry was steamed, not baked and the rest of the meal was horrendous. The chicken snittys were all close to burnt and way overdone. When the waitress came to clear the table we told her about our meals, all unfinished , she passed the information on to the kitchen staff. Not one person came to the table to speak to us about the meals There is a bistro manager I believe and she only came to our table once we had all moved away. The only positive out of our eating experience at the Demo was our lovely waitress. The food was sub standard to say the least

Not having T-bones available on your promoted T-bone Tuesday was very disappointing. It was the reason our table of 8 adults went there.

Me and the family came from Queensland to Broken Hill to enjoy the hospitality of the town, but we also enjoyed having dinner at the Demo club on Argent Street. The food I have to say was delicious and the hospitality was great. Really good portions of food. Please see the photos below.

Lined up at the ‘Bistro’ for half an hour to be greeted by some 12 year old kid that was not interested in being away from his video games, let alone serving the public, then waited 35 minutes for their version of Bruschetta ( photo) to just have the topping slide off the dry as hell toast onto the plate and table. Now I’m no chef but I know how to make this simple entree. The rest eventually turned up after lining up again to remind them about it. 55 minutes from ordering to having it thrown on my table is just ridiculous. I’d hate to be there when it’s busy.

Like Craig our Bruschetta was very disappointing. One small dry piece of toast with cherry tomatoes, fetta and balsamic on rocket leaves for $10. We couldn't believe our eyes. One dried up piece of toast. More like half a slice. You can get a $25 T bone salad and chips. We left on principle after complaining to the poor girl who took our order and looked very embarrassed. We've been trying to share our spending amongst different venues each night. We left in disgust. Honestly it was so disappointing. It's the first time we were disappointed in Broken Hill hospitality.

I'm up in Broken Hill for work, been here two days, just had dinner at the Demo. Tonight on the advice of Pauline doing the maitre d', I had the special, steak and ribs. I was pretty dubious because it was all of $21, but I went for it anyway. It was great. Then I splashed out all of eight bucks for dessert (cheesecake & soft serve ice cream) My local pub in the Inner West in Sydney charges $32 for a rump steak (because they can I guess). The last one I had was like an old boot. My whole meal tonight was less than that and five times as good. It's not fine dining but it's a good feed, and the steak was tender, juicy and nicely grilled. And the staff were uniformly lovely, right from the security guy outside to the kitchen staff who waited until I'd finished my main, even though the kitchen was closed, before bringing out my dessert. Thanks, I'll be back.

I attended a birthday Friday night and can now say I will not be returning to the Demo club. Majority of bar staff clearly don't won't to be there and are rude. Food - well.... out of 8 meals 3 were eaten. Chicken Wellington steamed and soggy, raw chicken. Chicken schnitzels were dry and over cooked. I just wouldn't waste time with this club.

Good friendly service. Pleasant atmosphere. Large food servings especially for the price. Only negative is the fried food was a little too oily. Otherwise, a pleasant experience.

Bruschetta was made with capsicum??? So zero stars for that, Ribs were obviously microwaved to serve but were ok to eat 2 stars, my dish hokkien noodles was great but to salty so 3 stars. Playground had poop on it but ill give them 3 stars for actually having a play ground. Total 3 stars for lots of wine and a good night :)

Booked table using online system, arrived to find no one knew where my table was & was told id need to wait for someone who knew. It took 5 different bistro workers to figure out which table was reserved. Partner ordered scotch steak cooked Medium, it came out without a steak knife, undercooked & full of fat and gristle. It was unbeatable. The chilli prawn pasta was good.

Best I list my pros and cons and keep it basic. Pros: - good value for money - fast food service - if it weren't for my food quality issue in 'cons' food would have been excellent. Cons: - my schnitzel was overcooked. Tasted great but chicken was dry and chewy. = minus 1 star. - Tira/Tina or whatever her name is at the concierge desk has a disgraceful customer manner. = minus 2 stars

Absolutely insane that this place is still even in business after all these year. No sort of care or thought behind the place, only pokies. Should’ve known straight away for the TVs on every wall you looked it was gonna be a terrible time. Only “Food” available was a $35 buffet which all would 100% be classed in the Danger zone for food safety. Even one of the works said that the food in the buffet was cold to another staff member, yet didn’t neither did nothing about it. The 4 star “very good” health rating extremely miss leading. Please if you’re thinking about this place the food poisoning isn’t worth it.
