Went in for lunch with some family members. It's great that the food comes out quickly. But gosh, the staff who clears the glasses/table can't seem to wait until we are actually finished. There's still drinks in our glasses and they wanted to collect it. There were still food on our plate and they wanted ro collect it. The place wasn't even crowded. Shesh!!!

Went for a Sunday Roast. Staff were fantastic accommodating our group of 10, Roast was sensational, service was great and plenty of TV screens to watch the footy. Will return.

We arrived here at about 4pm on a weekday and it was a little busy, however by 5pm the place was buzzing with so many people indicating just how popular this place is.
Upon the upstairs area opening at 5pm we decided to move on upstairs which was a great decision. A little more comfortable if deciding to eat here.
The atmosphere was great, and the options of food were your usual pub grub. We ordered the Schnitty Stacker which the mushy peas was the highlight.

This establishment might be old and quaint, but desperately needs someone to revamp its menu and staff. The picture below is what they served as a chicken parmigiana. It's was small in size, chips were cold and I could tell the cheese had not been melted in an oven or grill. The coleslaw had oil dripping from it. To say it was disgusting would be an understatement... Staff seemed not to care nor give any indication that this was not the norm.

• I was SO disappointed to not find these 2 things (the reason I visited this restaurant in the first place) on the menu: crispy salmon skin & beetrot blood orange salad
We had:

Stopped here at 5pm and had a lovely bourbon and coke and a few nice craft beers. Newtowner's hazy, balter hazy. Great atmosphere and lovely service. Had a good yarn to the barman even about the beers when he was busy. Would definately return.

Really good pub to eat at, the only issue is you can't pay with cash, and you can't split the bill
The food was really good and the service time was good for ordering food at 8pm45

One of the last old-school style pubs in the CBD. Been coming here for 15 years and it always has a welcoming feel. The menu has steadily improved over the years with a mix of classic Aussie pub meals like burgers and schnitzel as well as more modern options. Tap beers are cold and fresh making this a great spot for a weekday lunch or to catch up for drinks after work. Only 2 minutes from Town Hall station.

Not enough staff on - only people at the bar but waited 10min for staff to finish making cocktail orders before he would take a food order.
Went looking for someone else who might be able to help with a food order but everyone was too busy.

Not a bad pub, nothing special but OK. Food was good without being inspiring. Choice of beers was the same. A good pub when that's what you want. Clean

Nice clean cosy pub with an old school feel.
Food was great, had the buffalo wings and squid, can't complain, good serving sizes and quality produce used.
Little section to place a bet if you're that way inclined.
Tv with the footy on, not too loud, perfect for maintaining a conversation.
The staff were friendly and welcoming.

Nice bar. Decent food. They offer ordering though a QR code which is much appreciated. Nice place will visit again

Nice atmosphere, would give 5 however, boyfriend aired me all night as he was busy gambling. He repeatedly mentioned the “law of averages” every time I tried to make it stop. Ended up gambling all our holiday money. Not cool. Might break up soon.

Moved into CBD 3 months ago and always walked past.....wrong!!. Should have visited sooner. Great pub vibe and friendly bar staff.....my new local!!

Kian is the best member of staff I have ever come across in any bar around the world He’s a top guy from Leeds lost in Australia but his level of customer service in let’s be honest a pretty dingy bar is next to none, But because of him me and my hole group are coming back for sure Gave perfect advice on food choice and paired the wine with it perfectly. Top class service from a not top class pub. He made the experience a returnable one for sure #Raiseneeded

It’s good but service is way off. Rude staff, mixed up my order (didn’t ask for fries). And I could sympathize in a busy night (hey it happens) - but it was me and 3 others orders.
Steak was really tasty though so can’t fault it. Would go back, and it is probably the best pub in Sydney based on food and options.

It's a nice old fashioned bar in the city. Very cosy. We loved the option to order from the QR code app to save the queue. But the food selection we found limited, I was looking for something light but very little salad options were there, it's probably average for a bar menu.

Is it a haunted scottich castle ? Because the bartender upstairs had lost HER smile somewhere and seemed to be annoyed. It was my 1st visit, and when I heard latin music, I expected a friendly welcome (hospitality). Furthermore,there was a small dried lime and 4 leaves of mint at the top of my mojito only ( nothing inside).
I don't recommend it.
Otherwise, the falafels were good (the chips were too salty🤷🏽♀️),Nice server (3 * thanks to him) and Nice place.

Great pub in a good location. I stopped in here for dinner as a solo business traveller. Service was great and food was excellent. Can't ask for more.

Good little sports bar. Pretty much every screen had basketball on, which makes me happy. Reasonably priced drinks and a decent selection on tap. The food was all a bit too salty though!

Friendly service. Nicely chilled IPA on tap. Chicken burger was outstanding. Everything very fresh and most importantly, cooked to order. No one likes old chips. Highly recommended.

Cosy, family friendly pub. Good service, great selection of beers on tap and really good quality meals that are well priced. Also has a big screen and TV if you're watching sport.

Cool place! We had a nice lunch here! Chicken parmy was tasty, needs more cheese in my opinion. Gravy was delishous and chips were nice. The slaw was very over salted luckilu Hubby ordered the buffalo wings which came with ranch so I put it in the slaw with made it eatable. Ok place to have a feed!

Beautiful food with beautiful service and security. I felt comfortable having dinner with my daughter outside and keeping us warm with the gas heaters. Good job guys!!!! It was worth coming from Newy to Eddy 😃

A Fantastic pub. The food was great. They went out of their way to ensure I had a meal that was suitable due to allergies. The atmosphere was great and plenty of seating. I Highly recommend this pub especially considering how the staff are customer focused.
