The Federal Hotel

Went for dinner and drinks for a friends birthday. The service was awesome, we ordered from a great reasonably priced menu and the lady who took our order may have been new but was lovely. Our meal was quickly ready and absolutely delicious. Thanks for a great night, we will be back!

Went and had a roast pork dinner here today never again. The meat was very chewy been cooked a day or two ago and was sliced and the microwaved, one tiny piece of baked potato, steamed vegies not cooked properly, no crackling or apple sauce. We also got overcharched for this meal. Advertised price $15.00 bought 2 meals with 2 cans coke charged $45.00. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone for a meal.

We decided to stop here at Childers for lunch in the beer garden. The food was sensational, the meals were very very generous and the staff were polite. You will not be disappointed. Our dog was also most welcome.

Was passing through on our way back to Brisbane and pulled over for some dinner. So glad we decided to stop here. The food was really nice and big portions as well. The baked gnocchi special was delicious. Thank you we will definitely stop in again next time on our way through!

Terrible food and even poorer customer service both when ordering and when ringing about the mistake made. We ordered pizzas, after looking on their website and I was told it was only going to cost $69.60 for the three pizzas and garlic bread. When we went to pick the order up they charged us almost $90 instead. Which did not match any of the prices on their website. When calling back, the male on the phone made out he could not hear me properly, and provided the worst response when I said you falsely advertised pricing on your website and what you quoted and told me. He turned around on the phone and said not my problem deal with it. When I said I want to make a complaint as you have falsely advertised pricing he said its not important and we just increased the prices and changing the website is not a priority. I overheard a woman in the background just tell him to hang up. He continued to brush me off. When I pushed for the cost breakdown we were charged $4 for a gluten free and $2 for a 1/2 and 1/2 option. The pizza I ordered was Gluten Free and it was not cooked the base was still raw. It was piled with so much cheese that nothing underneath was cooked properly and was not able to be eaten. Would not say the other pizzas ordered had any flavour either. In writing this they have updated their website and increased by $5 their pizza deal and increased their gluten free to reflect their changes of a $1. However they have still kept their half and half as an additional $1. We had also eaten in the restaurant a few months prior to this, and I specifically asked for no bacon in my salad and it came out with bacon. When I asked for it to be removed I was told the chef just makes everything on the one hot plate so if it gets mixed it it happens. I am unable to have that with my food due to health, and to have had them take it back to the kitchen and just scrap it off and return the plate which showed where they had only scrapped stuff out of the bowl was very poor. The staff need to be re-trained on customer service skills both via the phone and in person. It was a very disappointing experience as we have had many people tell us about this establishment.

Stopped over in Childers on our way south. We had a parmi and pork roast. Main meals were delicious. The hotel was extremely busy for a Monday night. Our desserts of apple crumble and sticky date pudding were disappointing. Apple crumble was a very small serving topped with icecream and caramel topping. The sticky date pudding was fridge cold with a scoop of vanilla icecream on the side and caramel topping on the icecream.

Stopped in for lunch after reading reviews and have to agree, these guys do an awesome meal 🏆 We enjoyed two of the best chicken parmy’s, served with chips & salad 😋 Plenty of on-street parking out front or in the side street and the beer’s cold 🍺 The hotel is nothing flash, but we didn’t go there to be impressed by decoration

Stopped here for a meal and was really just pleased to have well cooked, good sized meals. Service was great and the staff friendly. The steaks and chicken parmajana we ordered were as tasty as you can get at a good Aussie pub like this. Thankyou to all the staff. Retuning shortly.

Nice pub, reasonably good meals. Would be great if they had indoor pool tables in a lot better condition.

Lunch stop while passing through. Lunch special fine at the right price. Exceptionally friendly staff. Nice dining room, but we sat in the bar at a bench top near the window to watch the Childers world go by. Saloon doors yahoo cowboy!

Just moved to Childers had dinner here tonight. Grilled barramundi and the spaghetti carbonara with chicken. Large portions that tasted great and friendly staff. Definitely be back for more.

Just had the steak Thursday night special..... 300gram rump for $24. Best $24 I've spent in ages. Yum. All the staff were great very friendly. Will definitely stop again when passing through Childers.

Just had a great feed, schnitzel and gravy...and I surprised myself going for the veggies! Would recommend.

I was driving others around so not drinking $7 for a lemon lime and bitters was robbery I should had a beer instead. However the pub has the hallmarks of a good country town pub and friendly staff. Easy parking.

Had a great meal here on a Saturday evening with family. I had a 350g sirloin with the seafood topper. Cooked exactly as ordered (medium rare). All meals delivered quickly. Staff happy, engaging and friendly. Reasonable prices and cold drinks. A good quality country pub. Highly recommended.

Great location with the council providing free camping close buy. Service and food was top notch, highly recommend and open on Easter Monday. Staff were amazing 👍🏻

Friendly and inviting staff from the minute we walked in the door, very clean pub that holds so much charm, character and history. Meals were delish, we had toasted sandwich with chip's and gravy, very generous meals.

Excellent service, friendly staff and awesome food. The beer tasted good after a long days riding. Rooms are cheap $40 for a single... wish we knew this before we set up our swags and camp-site down the road. Next time we are in town we'll definitely be staying here.

Awesome meal here was great had the chicken tenders and the filet Mignon steak could not fault it at all will definitely be returning
