We stayed here for a night while attending a 50th at another pub up the road. The room while small was very modern and clean. The bed was comfortable. Only quirk was there are no windows but there is a skylight with and electric shade. Check in staff really friendly.

Went to Gawler Arms yesterday for lunch. Had my grandsons with me, so sat in the kids play area. I was very impressed. The play area(s) are set out really well. Great food & great atmosphere. Staff were very friendly, attentive, and helpful. I highly recommend this pub as a place to go.

We held of eating here because of all the bad reviews on farcebook and wow have we missed out.
Three of us went and ordered a different meal each. It took just over 1/2 hour and to get the meal but at the same time they where very busy.
The help yourself food bar was very, very nice. Well presented and the food was lovely, and some different selections from other places (who all seem to have the same selection) which was a nice change and none tasted like it had been sitting there for hours.
The food when it arrived was lovely, nt overly deep fried like most other places, and very nice indeed. The chicken parmy would have to be the best we've had. Most places tend to pile the sauce and cheese on so thick you can't taste anything else but this one was just right, even tasted like itt was pan fried which wass a very big surprise.
In the end we all decided we where fools for listening to others, in fact we will be back there very soon, we enjoyed it that much.
Oh and the staff where great, even though they where super busy they came over twice when wee called.
We highly recommend going there.
Edit : I take it back, we went back a few weeks later and we both got very sick for a couple days. The help yourself bars where great as expected.
The very small menu and the fact we got so sick has put us off, sorry

Tonight, we visited the Gawler Arms for a family birthday, choosing it for their playground for our children. One of our children, who has autism, took his shirt off in the playground due to sensory issues.
Without informing us first, a server told him to put his shirt on, which upset him as it was a stranger. The server then came to our table, and in a rude tone, asked whose child he was and said he needed to leave. We explained he was autistic, but she said, "it doesn't matter, he needs to leave."
He is a 9-year-old boy. This appalling behavior from a restaurant we've frequented due to their playground is very disappointing. We will not be returning. Taking an autistic child to a restaurant is already challenging, and to be made to feel shame by an employee is unacceptable.

This is a great Hotel, the staff are friendly, the menu is extensive & the food very good with large serves, also have a lovely buffet, the atmosphere is nice & they have a separate large dinning room for families, good prices with pensioner discounts!
What more could you ask !!

The room was clean and and attractive. Stocked well with amenities and water. The resturant had tasty food with good serving sizes. Will stay here again definitely.

Stayed at the hotel. Room was clean and well appointed. I recommend booking directly with the hotel and not from a booking website as we overpaid. We had dinner in the bistro. Highly recommend. Fantastic salad/hot veg bar. Good reasonably priced meals. Halloumi burger was delicious, as was the salt and pepper squid. Super friendly, welcoming staff. Would come again.

Staff was friendly, kids play areas great. However personally felt the meals were very small for price and salad bar extra on top

Simon & Tanya are such wonderful people and went around to everyone to every table and had a chat - great atmosphere food is above what we expected- thanks for the laughs! We will be back

Recently done up small hotel room. Very modern and stylish. Paid above normal room fee due to gather round in Adelaide.|Plenty of nearby parking|Large tv and upmarket fixtures, king bed was actually 2 singles pushed together and bery comfortable

My wife and I recently stayed here and were extremely pleased.|Staff are very friendly, rooms are very clean, very modern, perfect for sleeping quiet and with the shutter closed on the skylight dark. Room has all the services you need, fast Wi-Fi, air conditioning, fan, great size TV, coffee machine and kettle,|The location of the hotel is perfect and restaurant/ bar is very nice.

Meals were absolutely shocking, hair in roast of the day, chicken schnitzel was cold, salt and pepper squid was that tough and rubbery it was inedible, seafood platter was oily and rubbery also inedible. Very very unhappy walked out with out eating and got my money back.

Love the refurbishment! Excellent meal lovely salad and vege bar. Wonderful to actually have a pub meal. Service was second to none as always. Thank you we will be back!!

Lovely warm atmosphere. Plenty of room.
Great for meals or just a wine!
Open late during the week which is very handy for those mums who are waiting for their daughter's dance class to finish!

Lovely place to eat, food was fresh, great serving size and was reasonable wait time and price. Wonderful staff who always greet you with a smile and make the experience dining here a great experience.

Loved my meal of fisherman's basket
So much food on the plate I couldn't finish it...cannot fault my meal...service was impeccable and staff super friendly

It was okay however I have noticed there have been a few changes to this venue as I dined there before April 22 it was a decade ago
However the soft serve machine plus salad and vegetable bar are accessibly open to the public

I had the Chicken Mignon and my hubby had Chicken and surf. Absolutely terrible! Chicken was over cooked and very tough. Bacon wasn't even eatable. Do not eat there. Would have preferred a sandwich at home. Staff were friendly but don't get a meal.

Food was below average. The burger had a genuine fragrance of flatulence. Sent the burger back and was told there was no smell and several of the staff agreed. Multiple people on the table noticed the smell also. They offered to bring another burger out but wasn’t worth the risk. The “coke” tasted like some sort of soda stream knock off. Both these combined made for a terrible dining experience.

Fabulous find in the heart of Gawler. Very central. The staff accommodated our early arrival, and even though we couldn't get in our room, they allowed us to leave our bags.
The rooms themselves are spotlessly clean and had everything you would need.
Modern rooms and very comfortable. Would stay again.

Didn'tstay in accommodation, but the food was great. The kids' play area was also a hit for our little ones.
The lady who served us was rude and unhelpful. The manager was lovely and assisted with our queries.

Chicken parmigiana $26 is deli Coles/woolworths $1.50 love heart shaped schnitzel. Disgusting. Didn't eat. Not worth eating for the 1,000+ calories that meal would be. Who is that desperate for a schnitzel. Absolutely disgusting. If you go for lunch or dinner go early when they have just bought the salad bar out and only eat salad bar if you want any sort of value for money their meals are disgusting. However the salad bar when we went (1:30pm) after calling and letting them know had already been ravaged. A few measly dry old crusty Potatoes left swimming in a tin of oil. Very very disappointing. Wanted my money back.

Came here for their Thursday night ‘shopper stopper’ special. Nice atmosphere inside, friendly and efficient staff. They even have a salad bar with plenty of variety as well as an ice cream bar! Our meals were a good price for the Thursday special and there’s plenty of options to choose from for it. We were all really pleased with our meals too!

Came for lunch today. Wonderful food, veg bar was really nice. The staff were so friendly, even encouraging us to stay and chat. Very impressed.

$57 is objectively too much money for two chicken parmigiana. At least it comes with salad and ice-cream. I'm still bitter about the price, but the food was good.
