Wotif profile said room was air conditioned. Ours wasn’t. Not great on a stinking hot night. Needless to say we’ll never return to this place.

Worst hotel I have been to. Awful room with rusty bathroom, noisy fridge and air con. Neon lighting like a fridge. so expensive for what it is. They also double charged me and lie about the refund being processed.

Stopped by with some mates to get lunch on the way through, food was amazing and great service even though we turned up at 3pm.

Staff exceptional, attentive know the menu, eye for detail and courteous. Menu easy to read, food delicious. It was our pleasure to eat there twice and the meals were delicious. Barramundi yummy, cheese platter delectable. Thank you to the staff you made our night. It's was our last night of Country Womens Association Conference and we are from Jervis Bay CWA.

Right in the heart of Bathurst we stopped here for just a quick bite expecting general pub food. To our surprise we were treated to excellent food, great beer and hospitable service! The Korean Fried Chicken was as good as any I have had here in Sydney, the beef salad was fresh and tasty and while my bruschetta was good, it was let down by the cheap bread used as the base.
The George has an excellent range of beers and many options for relaxing either indoors, outside or by the open windows.
A lovely experience and would certainly go back to try other dishes.

Really lovely food and service. My friend had the pork belly. And I had the special beetroot salad. Both were divine. Really generous portions. Table service. Nice wine list.

Quiet, clean room. Very good food with good selection. Very good coffee and drinks and top selections for breakfast. Comfortable bars and restaurant. Very good service. Central location with very good access to surrounding attractions.

Popped in on Xmas eve 2023 for lunch. We are visitors to Bathurst, not locals. Lunch was delicious. But the guy working the bar and taking our orders couldn't be ruder if he tried, i did ask after 15 minutes where my husbands beer that we paid for was... clearly he had forgotten, but rather than say so...he just treated me like i did something wrong. He really isnt suited to Front of house. Also allowing smokers to stand outside the open serving windows to smoke letting all the smoke drift in to the tables where people are eating is a big put off too.

One of the worst dinners I've had in Bathurst! I ordered a ribeye steak medium rare. It came thinly sliced (that's not ribeye) and was tough and very well done. After finally getting the attention of the waiter, I showed him how the steak was and he apologised and walked off! I was charged $49 for that steak even though I told him I was unhappy with it and did not want it. I will never eat there again. Terrible service and the food was so disappointing.

Nice pub. No gaming or wagering. No. Atmosphere. Very expensive. Food fare. Ordered a $49 steak med rare, got it well done. No steak knife served. Some staff unaware of menu or bar offerings. If you are looking for a venue where staff know their product and one that has atmosphere, stay away from the George. When I complained about the steak being overcooked, it was my fault. Avoid this place if you want good hospitality and good food.

it started raining heavily so i ducked in here for a beer and a burger. friendly staff, but the food was sydney prices. definitely too expensive for location. burger needed a bigger bun. three and a half stars. decent craft beer selection!

I'm sorry, although the food is great, the quality of service is rather reasonable. They seriously don't know how to use their billing system. Last night we had 12 people at a table, and all our drinks were paid for separately. At the end of the night, one of the staff members was actually shouting at members of our party saying an item had not been paid for. We had ALL paid. This has now happened to us 3 times at the end of the night about food or drinks. I am a Bathurst local that used to frequent The George every month or so. Not any more, we all keep track of what is on our food bill, why can't you?

i came in here initially to escape the rain and decided to have a bite to eat while here. the burger was nice but overpriced and the bun was too small for the burger. there was a good selection of craft beers on tap. staff were friendly. looked clean.

Had lunch at the George, not very impressed.
Service was only just ok, especially given that the waiter didn't want to take our drinks order and said that I had to order them separately at the bar.
Food was substandard and mostly flavourless. My $49 rib-eye steak was tough and unseasoned. My partner's potatoes, with her chicken dish, were oily as was her mushroom sauce.

Had a great lunch there today we had the salmon and barramundi both were fantastic. Staff were great . Second time we have caught up with family and eaten there and can’t fault the food or service.

We called in for Mother's Day breakfast, and it was great. Food was served reasonably quick, and the beverages were excellent. There was 6 adults and 3 children. Everyone was very happy with their food and drinks and service.

Called in for Breakfast before the long drive home. We spent over $130 and received no food or coffees. We constantly spoke with staff who assured us that it was on it's way. After an hour a senior staff member admitted that our order slip had been thrown away and they had no idea what we had ordered. After 90mins our coffees and food finally arrived and the order was incorrect. At this point the manager took our order again and nearly 2 hours later we received the correct items. The food and coffee were lovely but very disappointed in the service.

Burger was good, other Food was ok, steak was overcooked along with overcooked prawns. Salad was great. On the pricey side for pub food but it is a newly renovated placed. Great selection of beers on tap

Arrived for our booking for 18 to find the table so hard against 2 sides it was impossible to get in or out from your seat after talking to the staff, no help was given so we adjusted the arrangement ourselves.
The eftpos system is confusing as it requests a tip prior to taking your payment. Leaving some of our party being confronted at the table for not paying for drinks. ( change your system and earn a tip). This would be impossible for the bald guy who seems to be the manager. He has zero personality does not understand hospitality and can’t pour a beer. He single pours the beer over the top of the rim no head. They look flat and dead. When I asked for this to be rectified he emptied the glass partially out shook it and then aggressively refilled them.
I did not accept this and asked for him to report them properly. He did do this but made it very clear he had the sh__ts.
Apart from that the food was tasty however the scales in the kitchen do not work for the advertised steak portion.

A really cool hotel with pretty good food. Was popular for the Bathurst weekend. Staff warm and friendly and helped where they could. Only let down was the Manager, well I think he was the manager. Zero people skills, treated bar/food staff extremely poorly and was extremely blunt with customers.

After a long drive from Morpeth north of Newcastle NSW we opted to have our evening meal here. The food and more importantly the staff were first rate. Full marks to the bar staff member who convinced the chef to serve up a treat for our fur baby
