When there for a birthday dinner last night. Large table with kids placed us right next to the bar on a high table! They turned the light of that were over the table took us asking a 4th time for them to turn them back on and 39 minutes. Waited 45 minutes for a kids pasta which was terrible and 55 for meals most meals were good but the chicken in the chicken burger u couldn’t even chew. Asked for water and gave us a frozen bottle of table water. Didn’t even ask us if everything was okay. Bad service and dude manger won’t be going back at all!!

Went in December just before Christmas food was fantastic best in a long time. But went back now in middle of January food very god but little off the the standard of last time had salt and pepper squid again but quantity was about a third down but still very good. Only real complaint was chips were cold and not great both times. But will certainly visit again. 😁

Well done to the new owners and existing staff. WOW what a difference. Food was the best we have had in years from this pub. With a new and improved menu. It was great to have a chat with one of the new owners and see him hands on. The Golden Fleece is definitely back on our radar. Great work guys keep it up.
The fish taco were beautifully done, the lamb salad was fresh and light and the scotch fillet was cooked beautifully and with a lot of flavour

Waited 1hr 45 minutes for our food, being just a pizza. Our party booked well in advance for staffing. This is way too long to wait for pub food and we were thoroughly disappointed. Pizza was nice but not nice enough for a wait that long. Others on our table had pizza come out cold and with burnt bottoms. After dining here many times under previous owners this was disheartening. Very disappointed and will not be coming back.

Unbelievable. Been a regular for the past 3 years grabbing takeaway food on pretty much every Friday night. Went in tonight to order and was told, “we’re not doing takeaway at the moment because we are busy” it gets better, there were spare tables so happy to take my order if I wanted to eat in. What’s the difference? Strange way to treat your regulars. Well, used to be regulars. Guess my $100 bucks a week on food and drink will go elsewhere. Tell Eden we’ll miss her - absolute legend and the only reason you got 1 star.

Today we had the pleasure of enjoying an absolutely fabulous experience at The Golden Fleece Hotel in Gawker, South Australia - from the moment we walked in the door to the end of our visit, we were treated with respect and given clear information and brilliant service from all the staff that we met. They were so friendly and professional and fun. I’m so sorry I can’t remember your names, but I hope you get to read this post and recognise that it is you I’m referring to (including the young lady in the Pizza Baa 🐑🐑🐑 ) We were there for lunch today (24/3/24) .
Then there was the food that came to our table that we had ordered - it was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented so thank you to the kitchen staff for my perfectly cooked med/rare fillet Mignon and my husband’s fantastic seafood plate - just delicious 😋 😋
Thank you all so much for a really enjoyable time - I would totally, totally recommend this hotel for their food experience. I cannot comment on accommodation, but the hotel is situated close to shops of many and various types.

The Golden Fleece Pub in Gawler. On holiday from Perth passing through and stopped to sight see and have lunch. The pub has history and has been tastefully refurbished inside and out. There is a very good menu that will suite all tastes. I had the best steak sandwich ever and my hubby had the chicken pie which he thoroughly enjoyed. Dan ( Dan the man as we nick named him) was extremely pleasant and helpful. He is a credit to the hotel. Equally the bar and waitstaff were very good nothing was too much trouble. Magic. The food was outstanding and so was the service only thing is that a table for 4 with ,side plates,entrees,mains and drinks was really too small,otherwise well worth going to eat there

Sunday drive to to check out this hotel, we were not disappointed.
Great ambience, attentive staff.
Food delicious I highly recommend eating here.

Saturday Night,Table of 10 adults,it was a busy night as it was over 1 hour wait for meals,but the staff were friendly, meals were lovely and super hot, big thanks to Lilly behind the bar,super nice and funny,and kept us ladies laughing,even gave us a goodbye wave at the end of her shift..

Nice pub food. We had the sharing platter. It was a 1 hour 30 min wait for food last night though. To be fair, it was a Friday night. The place was packed! So next time, note to self, order food quickly during peak hour. The staff were great 👍

Nice country atmosphere. Staff were friendly and helpful.. we only stayed for dinner.
Meals took a while to arrive but worth the wait as they were excellent.
Although the Smoked ham & pineapple pizza was very sad. Not enough cheese and the pineapple juice had ran into the base. No complaints from the other meals.
Will be back, not for the pizza though..😮💨

My partner and I enjoyed the wonderful atmosphere and delicious food the pub offered.
We had some cocktails, beers, and a few starters. We were both delightfully pleased with our food, finger licking level! My cocktail, a special Margarita that I have never had before, was great.
One of the owners was on the floor with the staff, hands-on, and he made sure to stop by and have a quick chat. All the staff members were quick, proactive, and with a smile on, happy to help.
The pub presents modern decorations, a lovely outdoor area with tables, a free car park and much more.
I highly recommend The Golden Fleece. We will definitely go there again.

My husband and I had our wedding reception at the Golden Fleece last Friday and can honestly say we could not have asked for a better experience.
A couple days prior to our booking we went and discussed the arrangements for our reception. We spoke with Nenard who was very accommodating. He gave us some good tips on cost saving for the day which proved to be very helpful.
On the day we had 42 people at the reception, all of who ordered a main meal. Not one of those people had any negative comments on any of the meals. Fourteen people had the scotch fillet steak and every one of them said it was cooked perfectly to their liking and was so tender.
The service from the staff was excellent. All of them were so friendly and so happy to help with any little request from our guests. I must give an extra special thank you to Nenard who took charge on the night to ensure everything went very smoothly for us - you are a gem. And thank you for staying well past your finishing time to make our night so memorable 💖.
I would definitely recommend the Golden Fleece Hotel to anyone who wants a great meal with friendly service.

Lovely dinner - every meal was yummy. Lots of vegatarian options too !! AWESOME service and great value. Was quite busy fir a hot Tuesday night and they still managed to bring out the birthday cake all lit up . Was a great night - thanks soooo much all of the staff very professional - made fir a great birthday celebration 🥳🎉♥️

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel and it was an absolutely delightful experience .
I must say that the atmosphere of this hotel is charming and cozy.
I also had the pleasure of dining at the hotel's restaurant, and I must say, the food was outstanding ! Dukkha crusted Lamb and Ferrero house made chocolate hazelnut is a must try here !
I will definitely be returning on my next visit!

In a short period of time, the new owners have managed to turn this place around in a big way. The food is amazing, especially the pork and fennel sausage pizza and their new Nashville chicken burger. Both had incredible taste and the service is fantastic!

I have been all around the world but I can say I never felt so welcomed and recieved such a great service from the staff. Very clean place, great food and the staff has always been friendly and helpful. I will definitely come back.

I had a lovely lunch here with family on Anzac Day. Service was pretty good considering it was a public holiday, and the meals were generous and very tasty. I had the chicken pie, which was lovely, but the rocket, pear and parmesan salad it came with was fabulous!

have no clue about the rooms, wife and i went there to have dinner and drinks.
Drinks were actually brought out, which is refreshing. Parking is nice and close, a 30 second walk, but there is main street parking just outside the front door.
We actually went inside a few days before dinner, and made sure to get a table for 2 that just happened to have a comfy seat. it wasnt too loud.

Finally a Bar & Restaurant which caters for everyone! The change in ownership has done wonders for the atmosphere! The Staff are confident and friendly plus the ice cold beverages always taste that tiny bit better than everywhere else.

Excellent food and service from the new owners.
We took our family visiting from the UK for dinner, one of whom is vegetarian. We were met by the owner and told him one guest was veggie, and asked for recommendations on the starters. We were given a superb mixed platter (with meat separate) to share of various items from the menu and we were not disappointed!!
We chose our own main courses and all had something different, and to be honest I could have eaten any one of the meals that were served (including the veggie option) and again we were not disappointed.
Our visit was on a Tuesday evening and the service was very prompt. All the food is freshly pre-paired not frozen (excluding the chips lol) I can imagine that weekends are much busier, but after our meal today I would be quite prepared to wait for food if this standard.
My only disappointment was that we didn't have room for desert, but we will be going back to try again :)

Delicious food, vibrant atmosphere and exceptional service!
If you get the chance to stop in, do your self a huge service and make sure you order the Fish Tacos! I stopped by with the family while visiting on holiday, we were quite a large group so managed to try quite a few of the dishes. I wish I could give some more critical feedback, but everything was just spot on!

Came for a birthday dinner. Very nice food that is inventive and creative! Absolutely recommend the garlic bread, a basic done incredibly well. Would come back for sure!

Beautiful food and amazing service. It was made better knowing we could bring our dog in. Staff were so good with her too and made sure she had water. The pupsicles and pupacino was a huge hit with her.
Food was an absolute standout and serves were a great size. Definitely value for money.

A veru unique experience. Which is perfectly complimented by new owners whom have done a fantastic job. As a local and a frequent visitor of this establishment I can say positive things about all aspects of this establishment. Decent food. Great coffee and hot beverages. Great friendly staff very good gaming room which is modern and very clean. Overall a great experience compared to other venues in this area.

A perfect pub! Visited here last month to my delight they had some great Vegan options on food. Atmosphere is lovey, the new owners clearly have some taste as it’s well designed. The games room is spaces and feels welcoming! Definitely be back!
