We visited the Grand Hotel in Huonville for lunch with a large group of around 20 people. Our meals were brought out quite quickly. Meals were very fresh, well cooked,affordable and of a good size. Staff were excellent and very helpful.

We've travelled around Tasmania for the past 8 days, from Port Arthur, Coles Bay, Cape Grim and Cradle Mountain and as far as value for money is concerned this place takes the cake (wins) generous tasty meals at good prices, and fair priced drinks. staff were lovely and happy to share local knowledge. Big 👍🍻

We ordered a simple lunch, pumpkin soup, chips and garlic bread.
Now, the staff were great, the place was clean, the atmosphere with locals was great.
The pumpkin soup was tepid at best, took ages to be ready, it was flavourless, water floating on the top, it was mostly water!
I don’t expect much with country hotel food, however this was sub par! The main meals looked very large and pleasant to bad about wanting a simple soup lunch.

We had a great counter meal lunch today in the dinning room. Food was great, fresh and delicious. Great service from serving staff as well

Was having mechanical troubles with our car and had to stay in Huonville over a public holiday weekend. The staff were very welcoming and took care of us. A lovely local looked at the vehicle for us while we waited for the mechanic to open the next day. Food was good with generous portions (half sizes offered for a reason). Thanks guys.

Walk into this pub environment and feel at home.
Great place for lunch, dinner, a quick coffee, and a chat... or just to unwind from a tough day.
You can't go wrong with visiting the Grand Hotel.

Very good value for money pub fantastic fish of the day on the specials board and the scallops did not disappoint

Under $30 pub meal that is almost double the size of over $30 meals I've had..
The meals were fantastic, huge gravy boat serving of garlic sauce as a side. Cheesy garlic bread was sweet and so soft.
While not the best ever parmigiana I've had the chicken was by far the best I've had and would defintly rate it as a whole in top ten.
Lovely service. Huge size. What I would consider great value for size of meals. Even the drinks instead of being served in tall slim glasses were served in proper wide brimmed glasses.
Can't wait for next time. Staff just so super friendly and attentive.
Hawaiian chicken parmi and special nacho parmi. There were jalapenos in the nacho parmi if your not a hot heat type of person.

The younger staff were lovely and really hospitable. Parmis were amazing, steaks were cooked nicely, but the Kiev was definitely funky, like bad funky. The salad that came with it was missing tomato and dressing, but that is easily explainable, sometimes dockets print funny. The main bartender was really rude. We heard her be really rude the customers next to us and she had zero manners. Maybe she was having a bad day? My main reason for the rating was her service. It costs zero dollars to be a nice person.

The night was a horrible one. Started off good, ordered the food and sat down and that was the highlight of the night unfortunately. 1hr 45 minute wait for food lol one meal came out 30 minutes early then the other 3. When we are about the food since none of the staff cared about our table. She said the docket was lost..but clearly it wasn't as they served one of the meals 30minutes ago. The 12 person table behind me, was also having issus with the meals. The food was okay when it got there, the appetite was lost. Legs and breast was nice on the way on way home though :)

The Grand Hotel in Huonville is a partially refurbished older style brick hotel situated adjacent to the Huon River and beside the intersection of the Huon Highway/Main Street and the Esplanade. The accommodation is convenient to the town itself and is relatively plain although well priced. There is parking at the rear of the hotel and a restaurant and gaming room inside. The staff will do their very best to ensure your stay is comfortable. The small restaurant produces some surprisingly exceptional meals of reasonable value. Meals are served at lunch and dinner except for Sundays when they are only served at lunch time. Children and half meals for those with smaller appetites are catered for.||||Try their chicken parmigiana, it fills the plate. I enjoyed their fresh scallops and their silverside in white sauce.

The food was hearty, filling and satisfying. the lamb was slightly overcooked but the roast veggies were perfect. The mint sauce was a lovely surprise, my husband could not fault the T Bone, and my sons chicken parmy was a little dry but still delicious.

Stopped by for a counter meal on a Sunday.
The bar staff were warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in. The atmosphere is 100% traditional Australian pub and oozes "local".
The menu comprises everything you need to transport you back to a simpler time with good honest pub-grub: steaks, schnitzels, roast of the day and (my favourite) Mixed grill.
Generous servings at old world prices.
So glad we've found this place, as we'll be back again for sure.

Ive only eaten at this establishment. Meals where good. Nothing fancy but definitely delicious ,dinning room, bar & gaming service great. I'll be back again & again

Homestyle pub food that leaves you satisfied. Massive parmis and beautiful seafood; easily the best fresh flathead and scallops I've ever eaten. 10/10 would recommend to anyone travelling through the Huon Valley.

Heading into the country we had always intended to lunch at The Grand Hotel. Booking was made and a request for a window seat which was ready and waiting on our arrival. We were intending to have their famous scallops until we spotted Lobster on the Specials Board. That sealed the deal for us and we were very happy indeed when the meals arrived. It was prepared to perfection and also included the occasional scallop and prawn. We ate in the Grand Dining Room which gives a pleasant outlook over to the river. Service was very efficient and welcoming from all staff members who assisted us. Can't wait to go back again.

Great simple pub meal. Service was quick and easy. Comfortable setting, clean, I had roast of the day, pork, tender,well cooked, apple sauce, bit of crackling, fresh vegetables. Good size helping, $20. My wife had flathead tails, grilled, chips and vegetables. She said it was very tasty, $25. There were a variety of beers on tap. We had spent the day walking on Bruny Island, were tired and hungry and this pub was just what we needed. A fine example of great Aussie country pubs. Highly recommended.

Great place to stop for lunch with the boys. Entrees from 5.00. Mains from 17- 30. So pretty normal for a good pub. The pub itself is clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. Overall pretty good place. We had chicken avocado with vegetables, Neptune chicken and chips and gravy. All were tasty and fresh.

Great meals |We had three medium rare rump steaks with pepper sauce and chips and salad |The steak was cooked was tasty and cooked to perfection |The salad was nicely made and nice dressing |The chips were crispy and well cooked |And last but not least the huge jug of pepper sauce was full of pepper corns and just the right amount of heat

First visit to The Grand. The lady who served us was friendly & made us feel welcome and comfortable. Dining room has had a facelift during 2020 & is a pleasant place to dine as a result. Dinner is from 5 to 7:30pm in winter months & they like to take reservations. I'd like to view the accommodation... but another time maybe. The meals themselves are good pub meals. I was able to find a grilled chicken main & a tasty apple & rhubarb dessert (gf). We will return. 🙂

Greeted by Madi and staff who are the embodiment of hospitality. Cheerful and professional .
Fresh made meals brought out quicker than expected
Entee mushrooms and chicken satay were both perfect.
Both senior roasts were huge
Chicken and Avocado is delicious(can I bring the chef back to Adelaide?)

both my husband and son decided to have the mix grill oh my goodness it was food overload and they both enjoyed every bit of it I think 1 would've been enough for them to share that is how big it was and they struggled to finish it all, I had the chicken with seafood topping in garlic sauce, that was amazing

We love dining at the Grand Hotel in Huonville. The meals are great, the service is excellent and the atmosphere is fantastic.
We regularly dine here however recently we also held a large function in the private dining room and it was absolutely brilliant! The meals were served quickly despite the large number of orders at once, the food was great as always and the effort that the hotel staff put into setting up our venue was wonderful. We had the best time.
