We were down for a little getaway and trying to find somewhere that had a nice atmosphere for our little family. We found ‘The Local Tavern’ tucked away. We ordered right from the table and the service was perfect. All staff from the bar to waitresses were so accomodating. We had a Caesar salad which was so fresh and the perfect size, our children had fish and chips which was cooked to perfection, we added a side of mash and veg and both were so yummy and fresh. We had a parmi also but the star of the show was the dressing on the side salad that came with the parmi. We left and kept talking about how delicious it was so we had to message the team the following day to let them know how yummy it was but to also try and find out where to buy it, bad news is you can’t buy it but the best news is they make it in house! So lucky us will have to return to get the yummy flavours. We can’t recommend this place enough, we will be back anytime we come down to the Goldie. Thank you again to all staff.

We came to the Gold Coast for a week and ate here twice. The atmosphere is awesome, first time we had great live music, second time more quiet but awesome service. Genuinely couldn’t get better or more friendly service.
The food was sensational! Big portions! Food was super fresh, brought out quickly and everything our family tried was excellent.
Really recommend this place.

Very good burgers! I had the pulled pork and the blend with the apple was spectacular. My boyfriend had the Wagyu beef burger and he really enjoyed it. Also they know how to serve a pint of Guinness properly, my boyfriend was very happy to see that as it doesn't always happen in Australia. We came here for lunch and it was nice and cozy.

The service was awesome. Super helpful and friendly. The kids meals were great and the live music and heater were lovely. The calamari though was not good. No taste, very rubbery and the batter fell off as it was too slimy. I could only eat a couple of the sticks. I think it came out of the supermarket. The steak done medium rare came out medium and was ok. I just felt their mains failed an otherwise great experience :( sorry guys.

Staff friendly. Beers good, food similar beef and ale pie was very “beefy” similar flavours found in a masaman curry rather than a Guinness pie. Closed at 8pm - zero atmosphere. Typical corporate, Aussie pub, sigh…

So sorry for say that the food just so so.
Not too bad not too good.
We had enjoyed.
The problem is that I ordered the service meat as medium rare, but it came out as Waldon. Even after the meal is over, no one checks the food or greets anyone.

Solid little pub. Excellent service from Lauren and Julian. Would definitely come back for an espresso martini.

Rad little place, dropped in here on my way home and it was lovely. The staff were welcoming and gracious. I wasn't bothered by anyone and the music was okay.

Perfect for young families. The team were right on with every aspect as soon as we sat down. From offering colouring for the kids, to getting plastic cups for the to share a soda water, and ensuring the kids food came out first. Food was deliciously as well. Can’t fault them. Thank you for a great experience.

My sister and I have travelled to the Gold Coast to celebrate my birthday and wanted to make sure our last night was spent here. Incredibly friendly staff, exceptional drinks and atmosphere and delicious food! The wonderful staff made effort to remember our names, our regular drinks and even my birthday! I have appreciated the kindness shown to us and I can’t wait to return to the Gold Coast just to come back and visit again. Thanks guys!

My local pub, have been coming here 12+ years. it’s a great venue but what keeps me coming back are the awesome staff! Maddie is an amazing manager, Riff and Julian are two really cool guys, Charlotte is unreal, Laura is wonderful and Naggy and Nikki work wonders in the kitchen. Keep up the great work guys :)

Hmmm very misleading St Patrick’s Day advertising. Booked in for dinner at 6pm and as every other Irish pub had a queue to get in we walked right in and got given a choice of tables. No live music as advertised and by 7pm it was nearly empty. Dinner was good but just made a mistake on thinking it would be invested in St Patrick’s Day ☹️

Had to ask for our order after placing it on qr code. Manager was busy on phone as is usual these days and missed the ticket. No drama. Then got served gristle and ale pie. Lovely. No interest upon picking up the uneaten plate. Literally 4 pieces of beef or something resembling an animal with cartilage. Disgusting. Good garlic bread!. Bad. 😞

Had an excellent dining experience here with family on New Years Eve, flawless overall. The staff were wonderful, friendly and efficient, the food was outstanding - fresh, flavoursome and solid portion sizes, a good range of beverage options, reasonable prices and a relaxed atmosphere. Worth a stop off if you're in Surfers.

Had a fantastic parmy and beer tonight seriously the chicken was so delicious and soft and the salad was tasty and fresh going back for the burgers 🍔 next week could not fault the staff totally helpful 😀 😋 👍🏻 👌

Great sized meals, value for money. Kids are made to feel welcome and offered a kid's pack as well as their own menu. Great job guys. Wish we had found this place earlier, as we are leaving tomorrow. If in Surfers, do yourself a favour and check this place out.

Great atmosphere there with good background music going and TV's to watch sport. The food was divine, and the drinks are great. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Muchly appreciated.

Exceptional, just what we wanted to finish off our night. As simple as it comes, basic well-cooked and seasoned steak with chips and salad. Live music was nice, the highlight was the silver fox behind the bar. I assume he owned the place, if not he took pride as though he did. Food was great

Dom is magnificent and Rif is a champion..Plus the pretty lady who goes to uni is wonderful.But the lady who runs the engine is Maddie who should be running the country she’s so efficient.

Came here on a Wednesday night, there weren’t too many people here and we still waited over 45 minutes for our food for just 3 people. Had to keep asking staff where our food was and were told it’s not far away, but kept on waiting a long time.
Burger was good, chips were well undercooked. Steak was chewy and not well cooked.

Came because the prices where much more reasonable then others in the area and we where not disappointed. Size of our mains where massive and tasty!
Got the salt and pepper calamari that was super tasty and my partner got the Parma which was the size of his head!

Amazing experience here! Glad I came in after seeing all the positive reviews. Wonderful attentive service and really lovely bartenders. Great drinks, good vibes & excellent value. Sasha was fantastic! Definitely recommend checking it out if you’re nearby x
