We were in a tight bind for a last minute dinner so found our way here. Felt very local and the service was friendly. The food was good - scotch fillet was better than the burger which was slightly over cooked and dry. Still, for the money and the lovely bottle of Brangayne Cabernet we polished off, it was pretty good.

We stayed in the older part above the pub with shared facilities. Every thing was clean and tidy and the booking in lady was very helpful. Would stay again with no hesitation.

We stayed here for 1 night in room with Queen bed was very cosy and warm in the room with a/c. Shared bathroom/toilet all clean. We stayed on Saturday night which means there was a live band downstairs so was noisy til 12.40am. Also there was a function on in the balcony just outside our window til 10.30pm. Lucky we had our trusty ear plugs with us and had a sound sleep. The food downstairs was average.

We had a quiet dinner here after a day trip to Mudgee. It was surprisingly a little bit busy which is great for this nice little pub in Orange. Love the old fashioned nick nacks from the past; so many interesting artefacts to look at, adorning the walls. The space has been recently renovated. Have been here before, the beers are always nice and cold and served with a smile and the meals delicious, well prepared and very generous! I had the steak sandwich special which was huge and nice and fresh - loved the salad which was dressed with a yummy dressing. My husband had the Godfather schnitzel which was also a huge serve and very nicely cooked.

Top food, this pub feed was one of my best. The waiters all had smiles on their faces with great service. The accomodation was great and the lady at the front counter was super helpful I can’t thank her enough! Even when I was standing at the reception, there was a bloke in front of me looking for accomodation and unfortunately the Metropolitan was fully booked at this point but she went head over heels giving him multiple places with vacancies, the addresses, contact numbers and prices for him whereas most other places I have stayed will just apologise and your back to looking at your phone. Anytime I’m back in Orange, I will be staying here.

This is a very interesting place that we only visited by chance to have a lunch. Rather shabby in appearance, with a not too savoury reputation among the locals we later spoke to about it. The delightful surprise was the outstanding quality of the bistro food. The menu is typical pub fare, but beautifully prepared and cooked. We ended returning a number of times to eat and each time the food was as good as the first time. All I can say is if you are looking for a reasonably priced pub lunch, try this place. You won't be disappointed.

This 5 star was for the bar, not the accommodation as we didn't stay there. We had great local tap beer, spontaneous cocktail (as they don't serve cocktails but I just asked so they made one of the signatures just spontaneously with whatever spirits they had), great live music and the people there were very friendly and easy going to talk. They opened til late so it was good to enjoy night stay in Orange.

The room was good. The shared facilities (bathroom and kitchen) were clean. Though they have live music on Friday and Saturday nights, I couldn't hear it. The staff were friendly and helpful. Food at pub was fantastic.

Room is cramped with dodgy closet. It's got that funky smell. There’s bed bug in the mattress, first time I lied down a bug went to my cellphone. Not the flat bodied bed bug but the smaller spherical one. You can feel the bites under your legs, in your back, as well as arms. Thick dust and mold on the wall and furniture. It's obvious nobody cares to wipe anything here. Rooms are above the bar that played a band all the way to midnight so literally the whole room is vibrating and you won't be able to sleep until they finish. I'm so angry that the aircon has a 2 hour timer and there's literally no way to change the setting. So you wake up sweating and damp after it switches off so you switch it on again every two hours. The door knob is just a regular one and there's no way to double lock from the inside. The door to the exit that leads to the street is literally open so anyone can come in from the street. And if they duplicated the keys, then they can just enter the room. I'm so angry with the sun roof you're literally woken up by the sunrise. I slept 4 hours and just immediately left half an hour after sunrise. Definitely worse than hotels in third world countries. Worst hotel ever.

Randomly found this place after walking off the main street. Glad I did - the place was fairly quiet for a Saturday but they had a guy playing awesome live music. Bar staff were efficient and accomodating, including asking what you wanted to see on the TV. Good selection of beers on tap and the place was friendly. Great way to spend an evening. Would review these guys on Tripadvisor but can't find a listing.

Nice pub. Meals are good, excellent Dianne sauce.Beer has always been an issue. Goes flat too quick. Perhaps the glasses need a good wash? Some of the staff are pleasant. Michael is rude! Waiting quietly to be served...and he starts the conversation with " you got a problem"!? You call that customer service???

My daughter and I stayed for 2 nights. The room was quiet. The bed was fantastic. Bathrooms have been renovated beautifully and the common kitchen was a plus to have available. The air con was great too. My only negative would be the huge wardrobe took up so much room and blocked the hand basin in our room. No need for it in such a small room

I stayed 3 nights at this Hotel location is so good central n walking distance in town close to the RSL they serve meals there but this visit I didn’t eat there but had a few drinks the 1st two nights I was in a lovely room but backed onto the kitchen and not soundproof at all so awoken at 4am to community noisy kitchen I think they have some permanent residents that live there and share kitchen the 3rd night I asked to change rooms away from the kitchen and definitely better more quiet there was a large gap in side of door that would be good if sealed the owners are slowly doing up the pub the bathrooms upstairs n inside pub so beautiful they have made a huge effort to keep the old style look đŸ‘€ anyway for $100 a night can’t go wrong super clean sheets n comfortable mattress I would recommend this place đŸ’¯

Had always walked past this hotel but never been in so decided to try it out for dinner. We had crumbed steak with chips and salad and roast lamb special and we shared apple pie for dessert. Good pub food at good prices and generous serves. The burgers at other tables looked amazing! The dining room has been very thoughtfully renovated and tastefully decorated to suit the era of the hotel. The staff were very friendly and the owner came over to chat which was nice. Will definitely return soon!

Group of 8 of us ate at the bistro upstairs, plenty of space and didn’t feel too near anyone. The food was delicious. We had barramundi, steaks, chicken parmi, sausage and mash. The accompanying salads were fresh and the veg cooked perfectly. The service was very friendly and attentive, nothing was too difficult. Will definitely be back for group meals here in the future. Would’ve taken photos of the food but was too hungry and forgot!

Friendly staff and patrons, I’ve found I always have the best conversations with the most random people I meet in pubs. I can’t speak for the hotel rooms, but the bar itself was enjoyable and the lamb and red onion pizza I had for dinner was fantastic.

For $75 the rooms are small but clean, nice sheets and bed was comfortable. Had a great sleep. I was there on a Tues but weekend may be loud. I think they are going for a rustic look which worked in some parts but others looked unfinished. Overall, very central, great value and service was good. I'd stay again.

Decent room & shared bathroom. If you’re looking for sleep though, you won’t get it because the room is on top of a pub with live music. You’ll be sleeping on top of a live concert. When complaining, the property responded that ‘it’s not our problem, you are staying in a pub and everyone knows about this’. The property gets money from the pub and tried to sell the room upstairs from people outside of Orange who does not know about the establishment reputation. We were only booking this place because everything else is fully booked, thankfully a one night thing. I will be letting everyone I know who is looking to go to Orange to not stay here and ruin their trip.

Awesome place! Highly recommended! Great staff, they will do anything to make you feel welcome and at home. Excellent food I recommend the T-Bone special on Thursday and the Parma on Fridays! Has a daily special which not many people do. Also has a $10 lunch menu which is super cheap and awesome! Cheapest around town that's for sure! Worth every cent and very happy I went there for lunch! Highly recommended to everyone to check it out and give it a go!

A little bit noisy on the weekends if the pub is having live music
