Went for a quick lunch and instead had an amazing lunch at this cool retro establishment. Food was awesome and staff friendly, we’ll be back.

We had our engagement party here on the top floor. Couldn’t fault anything about this awesome local pub. Staff are so friendly, the venue itself is really nice and the balcony is awesome for afternoon drinks in the sun. The food is excellent! Our party was a hit and we are definitely local regulars for an afternoon drink and a pub feed.

This is a great little pub in Adamstown. Sometimes they have live music, but most times the pub is packed just because of the atmosphere and the good food. Always Pat after the races, well worth checking out.

The food here is always excellent and the options are amazing. There’s all the usual pub classics plus a whole menu just for vegans. The decor is very warm and welcoming too. Very modern. I always find the staff to be friendly and helpful too.

Saturday dinner catch up with friends - highly recommended. Good range of meals and the vegan options are good - pumpkin curry was delish! Good priced cocktails from 4-7pm on the weekends; lovely cosy lounge area with fireplace was spot on for a winter's night out. To avoid any issues with ordering via the QR codes, we ordered directly at the bar and the bistro - no problems and quick, efficient service.

Really disappointed. My wife and I went to the Nags for something different. I ordered the chilli prawn linguine and she ordered the chicken snitzel with garlic prawn topper.
The service was spot on, phenomenal customer service and the people were great. However the food was some of the worst we have ever had. Ordering a $34 meal being the pasta and by all means could be cooked better from ourselves. For a qualified chef, my goodness, some quality checks need to be had. This was horrible and a risk to the business, to charge this in exchange for the delivery.
200M down the road you pay a portion and receive 10x the quality and flavour.
I'm not one to cause an issue, but when you get charged a premium for something you expect the result, which sadly was a 1/10.
I hope this feedback receives the appropriate eyes. 27/08/2022 much love

Pros: Very comfy beds, clean and nicely renovated.
Cons: Lock code wasn’t working on last morning and I got locked out of my room for 40 mins. No one was answering the phone. Thankfully I found a lady to help me downstairs after knocking on the door loudly. I was woken up probably 15 times on both nights due to a weird vibrating/drilling noise from 5am onward (maybe a hot water system?) and the walls are paper thin so I heard every noise the neighbours made at 3am.

Nice little Bistro and they had gluten free options as well. Large serving size.

Netty. Was. Here. A nice semi formal restaurant out the back. Had the steak, was alright. Vegan Menu too.. Cocktails looked nice & frothy (proper whisked egg whites). Worth a spend for an arvo. Popular for functions too.

My husband and I had dinner here tonight after seeing they had a vegan menu. Our son plays soccer nearby, so we try to double it as a date night where we can because we aren’t local. The service and food were incredible. Our server was so kind and accommodating. We also had, what we considered, a totally reasonable wait for food, and the chef still sent out a free vegan dessert for the wait. It’s so hard to eat out for us at the best of times, but a full vegan menu and a dessert? Amazing! The dessert was delicious. We’ll have to make it a regular date night!

Mostly empty on a Sunday at lunch, no bar staff? Food wait time about an hour. At $9.70 for a schooner, not surprised why it was so empty

Just about every pub these days has a restaurant. Some are better than others.
The Nags is one of the better ones.
While I don’t recommend the pizzas, everything else on their menu is top notch. (If you want a pizza, go across the road to Harry's.) The prices are reasonable and that staff have always been friendly.
The $15 lunch menu options are great value and they even have a separate vege menu for those so inclined.
The dining area isn’t exactly huge, but that also creates a quieter atmosphere. If you are thinking about arriving later in a sitting, you might like to book.

It actually gets a 10 out of 5 as the staff are friendly and very approachable.... The feed was huge and tasted so good, it's that big I had to get a doggy bag so I could enjoy the rest at home. The atmosphere is relaxing and venue is really attractive with sections for your liking

I booked a room with Nags Head for one night. When I left the room at 5 AM the day after to use the shower, the door codes had changed and it wouldn't let me back into my room. I am now stuck outside my room with no way to access my belongings and no one to contact. This is extremely poor service and I recommend everyone steer clear!

Had the grilled Barramundi fillet for lunch on Monday, it was mouth watering, so perfectly cooked it was delicious.

Had a really lovely experience at this pub. The staff were all very welcoming and helpful, the decor was nice and they were family friendly! (There are a few stairs to get to the dining area with a pram FYI but the staff offered to help take the pram up the stairs). The food was good quality and well priced! Will be back again 😊

Great place to go for dinner. Great clean and friendly atmosphere, lovely, helpful and friendly staff. Had the best bruschetta and chilli prawn pizza I've ever had there. Oh my God it was good! Heaps of delicious food to choose from on the menu and plenty of different drinks and cocktails also.
Definitely recommend 👌.
Will be going again soon. Thanks guys. 🙂

Food was fine (basic burgers and a kids pizza). The issue we had was the QR code ordering system. This directs you to a website to order. Adamstown has terrible mobile reception, and half of the orders placed on the website were then 'lost' in the system (two families, two separate orders). They showed as 'paid' when finslly queried, but didn't reach the kitchen. The staff did their best to remedy this, but our meals were then 45+ minutes apart. Just another pub meal, but their 'high tech' ordering equalled a less than enjoyable meal experience.

Fantastic food, huge meal. From one chef to another the beer battered fish had the lightest, most flavoursome batter ever. Great atmosphere and lovely staff. Only disappointment there was food left over just couldn't fit another mouthful in.

Awesome vibe, perfect food with variety to suit everyone. Nicest staff you could ever imagine.||We love the Nags so much that we had a dinner here in the lounge area the night before our wedding. All our out-of-town (and local) guests all gathered here for dinner. It was perfect.||Everyone commented on how delicious the food was! Have never had a bad experience here, and it certainly didn’t let us down. Highly recommended!

Always come here for Thursday night trivia. Food is great, drinks are fairly priced, and staff that run the trivia are lovely (Gabby!).

Absolutely lovely customer service and hospitality at the Nags Head. All the staff went above and beyond on our visit for lunch recently. The mocktails, chilli garlic bread and desserts were especially nice. The design of the restuarant is lovely as well. Thank you for making our lunch so special and we had a great day! Thank you so much! :)

4 of us had lunch at bistro today. We are regulars and have had a great many lunches and dinners here. Always have had excellent service and good pub food whether or not they are busy. All areas of bistro, bar and bathrooms have always been clean. They haven’t had entertainment every time we’ve gone there but when they do it always makes for an even better time. Today they had singer guitarist who sounded great.

2 years ago I ate at the Nags Head and was very disappointed. Back in Newcastle again and talked into another dining experience at the Nags Head. Once again very sad meal. Ordered a plain chicken Schnitzel which was OK but the chips were a disaster. Not recommended as a dining experience.
