While I was standing next to my table trying to dry my son’s jacket, the kids meals were taken and throw out without asking. Our personal belongs still at the table in clear view and the meals not finished. The lady returned to pour my alcoholic drink in the kids 1/2 full Coke jug, as my partner returned from the toilet with the kids, he tried to stop her, she laughed. We mentioned she also threw out our meals. Again she laughed, extremely poor service but lovely food (what we did get it eat) and great play area.

We went here for a friend’s birthday on a Saturday night. The place has plenty of parking. The venue is big and it was busy. It took us 15 minutes to queue and order our food. Good considering how busy it was. Our food came out in 10-15 minutes. The servings were big and delicious. Highly recommend the venue if you are in the area.

We often go here only because it’s the only kid friendly pub in town but time and time again the food let’s this place down , it’s cold or over cooked to the point that the chef tried to poke her finger in the fish I took back and couldn’t… the kids were watching a movie on a Sunday night with the head phones… then they just turned it off to watch basketball… there were only kids out the back but they still turned the kid movie off… The food here is absolutely horrible! I don’t give reviews ever and don’t take this lightly… as I know what it can do to a business, but when I showed them my plate they didn’t care she just said yes it’s not good food… what do you want? I got a refund… Thank you… but definitely won’t be back unless they get new people in the kitchen

Visited in December '23. The food was very good, and the seating options both inside and outside made it a great experience. The macaroni and cheese was not good at all (this was on a Saturday night).

This place is highly overrated, Food is average Service is below average Venue is nice except it is, Noisy for how busy it it was, no matter where you sat inside, outside, bar area . Value poor (could be great if food was not cold and lifeless and there was better service) mentioned it being cold when collected and did not get a response, just a weird sort of smirk. Beer cold, crisp and not bad value Overrated

The wings were great and the service swift. Great location, close to our accommodation. Not expensive. We were there on Saturday night and it was busy and most people were local.

The hotel is located slightly out of town (about 7 mins drive), and has a small handful of guest rooms. Really liked the security here as the rooms are behind security doors plus locked doors themselves. There's a small garden area with outside chairs for each room. Rooms are big and warm and the beds comfortable. Check in was easy and also easy to park the car right next to the gate to get in. Found it nice and quiet despite being next door to a loud family, the walls were thick enough for it not to be a real problem and nothing ear plugs didn't sort out! Full cutlery, plates and bowls provided but strangely no microwave which would have been a bonus for a quick breakfast. Otherwise a great overnight stay.

So disappointing. Being my 40th birthday I thought you know, you can't go wrong with the Ophir for a great feed.... Absolutely terrible. The Menu has changed, but never the less, ordered our food. The seafood risotto was steaming and lovely, missing some described key ingredients on the menu but it was quite nice. The bruschetta was quite delicious, fluffy bread and very tasty. The side dish of salt and pepper squid... was not worth getting, it was bland and not even crunchy. The worst dish... was the seafood board and it was absolutely terrible. Everything deep fried, over cooked and tasteless. And warm! ??!!) And not really much in the way of what you would expect for a seafood plate. Chips weren't very fresh or crunchy, looked old. 2 thin pieces of fish that were battered and so overcooked. 4 prawns that were crumbed and burnt! Squid on top was bland, and no crunch to the batter, worse than the side dish, and that's saying something! There were 3 fresh grilled prawns on top which was the only thing worth eating! I wish I took photos of everything to show, but I just didn't think of it. Was excited for a great meal and so disappointed for the massive let down. The kitchen staff certainly weren't the same as usual. And it really shows. For the price of our meals, it's an absolute rip off. And it will be a long time before I even consider coming back! Such a shame, it was always a place we could go to but I can't say I'd recommend visiting here. Oh, another thing, the drinks are expensive and not very good! Off to see what else is around for a good feed!

Reasonable value, and I would stay here again. Bathroom looked pretty tired (silicone around the edge of the shower etc.), and the small cake of soap they provided fell through the soap holder unless you balanced it very carefully. Hot water took a long time to come through to the shower, but was good once it got there (which is more than I can say about the hot water in the sink which never arrived despite running the tap for several minutes) Describing the room as having a kitchenette is a bit of an exaggeration (but I was aware of that prior to arriving thanks to other reviewers). They describe it as being a 15 minute walk into town, but that is a bit optimistic. It took me half an hour to walk to Woolworths, which I think is about in the middle of town ... As noted by other reviewers the television is pretty small by modern standards, but it's adequate.

My partner and I love this bistro. We had dinner here couple of times whenever we visit Orange and always felt satisfied about the food. Steak night special is a steal, and the slow cooked angus sirloin is highly recommended. Fish tacos is another good choice. The prices for wine and beer are also affordable here.

Lovely staff, big eating area that suits all - area for kids out back to play, inside and heated outside eating, big, typical, well priced pub menu, specials each night. Great wander down from the caravan park we stayed at.

Kids love coming here! Great kid friendly atmosphere, playground, outdoor movie and menu. I got the garlic prawns with fried rice. Prawns - great...subtle flavour, the rice on the other hand was awful, heat up packet stuff is 100× better!

I tried to contact this pub with three different methods to ascertain if they were dog friendly, no response for several days. As the photos showed a huge outdoor area, and their online menu looked promising, we decided to detour on our travels to stop here. There was hardly anyone sitting outside on a Wednesday late lunch time, and our whippet sat quietly at our feet. We were promptly told to leave, NO DOGS.

I stopped here for lunch one Wednesday, a modern setup with a big bistro. The beer garden and outdoor eating area are pretty cool, The Ophir has a gated car park, which is pretty handy with quick access to the hotel. What surprised me most about this place was their prices, i had chicken schnitzel chips and salad with a beer for about $25, and the meal came out super quickly from the kitchen. Going there was the best part of that day.

I had a braised beef pie that seemed strangely deconstructed and had separate bowls for mashed potatoes and vegetables but it actually worked - although I would have liked a bit more pastry!

I didn't see a room and hence offer no rating. A great place for a family meal with a large, very well built play area and a good kids menu. Reasonable prices for good pub food. Food came out quickly and more than met expectations. Clean, well lit, well staffed and with a family-centric crowd, this is a great family pub. Good car park too.

Great restaurant. Very kid friendly. Be warned the servings are huge. The lamb shank is actually half in the photo, the other shank (yep two in one plate) is on another plate. You can easily share these. The 350g signature steak is more like 500g. Try the onion rings they are amazing.

Great place for families to come and have a feed. Big range of food plus specials on all the time. When our food came out our chips were cold, but they were replaced straight away. Had a movie on for the kids who were given headphones to listen to it.

Food not as good as previous. Kids burger full of oil and was hot when it dripped out. Garlic prawns and rice very ordinary. Play area the children not supervised by adults and younger ones being pushed out of the way by bigger kids.

Always good meal, staff friendly, great ambience and nice and warm. The daily specials are always good and a good size. Have had the steaks the last couple of visits cooked perfect. If you are into sports there are plenty of big screen TV's. Will be back.

A great place to unwind in Orange. This has got so many bar areas that you may find it difficult to make a choice :) Big screens everywhere and big play areas for kids as well. VIP room is great if you want to try your luck at winning the pokie machines. Make sure you order before 8.30 pm as the kitchen closes at this time, even though this place is open till 2 am. Lamb dishes seem to be a favorite and run out earlier than 8.30 pm. Portion size is generous. I ordered salt pepper squid for entree and it was almost the size of a full meal.
