What makes this place is the staff. They are absolutely fantastic. They always have a smile and will go the extra mile. The food is to die for better than the big city restaurants. Good sized portions and the prices are very reasonable. A wonderful country town with a fabulous pub. Will come back very soon.

What a surprise! The Railway hotel was our dinner stop on the way home from the cattle sale at Warwick. From the outside it’s another country pub. You enter and the inside is neat, clean and tidy. The staff are friendly and helpful ( we hadn’t been in before …. Ever), and as we walked through to the dining area, we were greeted with a neat , relatively new bistro meal area with a bit of atmosphere. Now here’s the thing, we ordered off the specials menu and received probably one of the best meals I’ve had in years. I’m not saying what I had, you’ll need to explore that yourself, but as we left,I made sure to thank the chef, something I haven’t done in a long time ! It’s a bit of a drive , but we’ll take some friends back to visit again, cheers Rob.

We stopped in here for lunch. Wow, just wow what a hidden gem and we live in Warwick!! We shared a Turkish bread with balsamic vinegar, olive oil, pesto, olives and pickles it was fantastic value at $9. Then my hubs had one of the specials of Lambs fry and bacon and I had Pork Medalions with a mushroom masala sauce. Both meals were sensational and very reasonable. All up our food came to $51 which we thought was really impressive value wise. The meals were of generous proportions and my salads were delicious. Best pub meal I've had in years. Will I be back? Hell yes .... regularly.

We are travelling and happened upon the lovely town of Allora. It was apparent as we drove through the streets that people looked after their homes. Decided on tea at the pub so we walked into town admiring all the lovely houses on the way. Don’t know why I was so surprised to see such a well maintained pub. I was actually astounded that everything was so well kempt and clean. Had a great meal at a great price. Have to rate this hotel as one of the best we have experienced on our 17 months on the road.

We always come back to Allora and specifically The Railway hotel for a relaxing beer and lunch in their beautifully refurbished dining room. The meals are generous and well cooked. I had a T bone steak and i can honestly say it was the best steak i have had for a long time! Two large beers for less then $10.00.bargain. Also its sometimes just nice to wander down the main street and check out the local shops and chat to the locals. This is country Queensland the way it used to be.

Travelled from Toowoomba for a Sunday lunch. An extensive menu; I chose the rissoles which were very tasty and served with vegetables (broccoli, carrots and potato/sweet potato bake) which were obviously fresh and not out of the freezer. My wife had the crumbed lamb cutlets which also received a big thumbs up. The dining area was clean and well presented as was the bar and other areas, including the toilets. The beer garden was well patronized on the day. The dining and bar staff were all friendly. A lovely drive from Toowoomba and well worth the trip to a great country pub in an attractive and historic town.

The food was really good well priced. But did wait around 45 minutes for meal to be delivered. The barmaid kept on disappearing one bloke waited about 5 minutes to get a drink, and her attitude was not what you would call country hospitality . But good atmosphere and enjoyable meal just the staff need a refresher course.

On a day trip we stumbled upon the Railway Hotel at Allora. Five of us lunched, with four separate dishes (two of us had Lambs Fry and Bacon; an excellent choice and the reviewer was unable to finish his dish). One had a steak sandwich and loved it. One had lamb chops and salad. Struggled to consume it all but gave the dish top marks. The other member of the group had crumbed steak and salad; rating it "brilliant". Service was top-notch and friendly. The hotel was spotlessly clean (it was a Sunday). Highly recommended.

My husband and I had dinner, and it was amazing. Vegetables cooked to perfection as was the steak. The fact that they used fresh vegetables was a most welcome surprise as most pubs use frozen vegetables that are soft and unrecognisable. These were delicious. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We hope to drive through this little town again and will definitely stop here again.

Having eaten here before and had excellent meals, today was very very disappointing.|I ordered grilled salmon, which came out to me cold and was actually raw when I cut it open. I took it back to the kitchen and the lady was very nice and I ordered another meal. The cook brought the lasagna out and apologised for the salmon. Unfortunately the lasagna had been heated too much and was so hard around the edges I could not cut it easily. When I did manage to get into it, the mince in the lasagna was in quite big lumps, all and all vey off putting so I couldn’t eat much. The chips were cold, not good at all. Total waste of money.|My friend did enjoy her roast beef thankfully so that was a positive.|RD|

Had the pleasure of staying at the Railway Hotel ,whilst on the Tallai mini bash. What a beautiful pub & what a great town to visit. The pub has had a beautiful Reno without losing its old character. Share bathrooms are great , food was great, & everyone was very welcoming. Will definitely be back.

Great place- Only came for a feed before heading into the bush for a boys trip, The pricing of food is just in the sweet spot of being fair pay for the quantity and quality of food- hopefully it doesn't get more expensive. Schooners are cheap enough too- would be great to get some pints 😂😂. Highly recommend for lunch and a good stop in to break up a trip from brissy.

Great experience at this hotel, even though it was exceptionally busy (beginning of a long weekend), the service was very quick, and the food was truly excellent, we mostly had seniors meals, even so, portions were generous and prices very reasonable. We will be back for sure, loved it! Edit: 4 months later. Yes we did come back, and same as above, still fantastic service and meals. We will never drive past this town without dropping in for a meal here.

Fantastic country pub, exceptionally clean with lovely friendly service. Stopped in for a counter meal on our travels and would definitely recommend. We had rissoles and the steak sandwich which tasted great and was great value for money. Thanks for a great meal and experience.

Delicious dinner of rib fillet and sauces. True country hospitality, lovely dining room. Topped off with courtesy bus service to and from our Showgrounds camping accommodation. Allora will definitely be on our list for a return visit.

Beautiful country pub, clean with toilets, pokies, pool table and rooms upstairs. Dinner is from 5:30 pm till 8:00 pm, the pizza was delicious and one of the best I've had in years. (Didn't stay in the rooms.) The local RSL has euchre every last Tuesday of the month, courtesy of a local who are all very welcoming.

A very disappointing pub lunch as the rib fillet (senior meal) was like a shoe sole. On complaint the chef offered a replacement of the same steak. A credit for the meal would have been more gracious and acceptable as our group had finished lunch, and no one would have wanted that same “steak” again.|The other meals and steaks (rumps and t-bone) were fine as a pub lunch, just the rib fillets were unacceptable and should be removed from the menu.|

A small country pub that definitely punches above its weight! Friendly staff and the most delicious pizzas I’ve ever experienced! But the real surprise was the accommodation! I didn’t realize the proprietors actually owned both the railway and Commercial hotels in town. And at first when I was directed to the pub down the road I had slight trepidation’s. But how wrong was I! Hands down the best pub accommodation I’ve ever experienced! Great value! Awesome room with television and aircon, honestly I wanted to stay past checkout, it was that comfortable! Impeccably clean bathroom and kitchen. Country Pub hospitality at its best!
