Would be back if not for the talentless creep with the acoustic guitar and the likely paid teenage "fans". Please stick to street corners and tent villages in future, Keith Urban is spinning in his grave and he's not even dead as far I know. Despite being of substantially more substance, our own drunk musings were rendered totally inaudible :(

What a joke. Mothers day right you would expect to be having kids in you're venue yes? Why only serve kids menus to half of the venue. We came with 5 kids between the ages of 18 months and 16 years and they won't eat all of a full fledge adult. Won't be coming back at all and not recommending it to anyone that has kids

Went here for Valentine’s dinner. Absolutely the worst experience I’ve had. Rocked up for our reservation at 7. Told our table was not ready despite tables being open. Asked to come back in 5-10 mins. When we were finally sat the table cloth was dirty, rubbish on the floor and not set properly. We had to ask for menus and for our order to be taken. Table staff very inattentive and didn’t appear to have any order of whose order they were taking. Waited 30 minutes for our order to be taken, then 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive (even a glass of coke), then over 40 minutes for an entree (mind you a set menu) for the tiniest piece of duck on a bao bun. Waited over an hour for mains to come out before leaving over 2 hours after our reservation as it was past 9pm and we were starving. People who ordered after us were receiving their meals before us. The wait staff did not seem to care how long everyone was waiting, and were walking around aimlessly trying to find tables. The only reasonable customer service was when we left because we were sick of waiting we were told not to worry about paying for our entrees and two drinks. The place wasn’t even that busy and with a set menu service should have been significantly quicker.

We love neighbouring The Rock. Delicious food/cocktails and great service. Found them super helpful and accomodating when organising catering for our events too.

We have previously had great experiences and meals at The Rock, but unfortunately not on Saturday night. On arrival for our booking the greeter told us ‘Table 9’ and just waved into the general eating area. We then had to search for the table location ourselves. When the meals were delivered we received some inaccurate meals in contrast to what was ordered. I have felt the great strength at The Rock is their steaks however not on Saturday. Two of the 3 steaks were tough and chewy. I am all for young staff being employed and some of them made a real effort. More training however would help. The person taking the orders initially wanted to stand at the end of the table and have people call out their orders to her. When the meals were delivered the server passed food over people’s heads. As we were leaving the 2 greeters stood at the departure area chatting and didn’t even acknowledge our departure. Disappointing evening for taking out of town visitors for dinner. As locals we did a lot of apologising to our visitors and told them The Rock is normally better than this.

We had a lovely lunch at The Rock on Saturday. The food was delicious and the service was fast, efficient and friendly. Although it’s a fairly no-frills decor, we appreciated the space and airiness to relax and laugh! All in all an excellent experience! Thank you

Tried several times to order room service from the as they are linked with the hotel I am staying at. On the 4th attempt got a young fellow who took five attempts to place a very simple order, but hey give him a chance as he might be new. Then asked roughly how long it might be and said know idea as I don't do the cooking. Class act, I guess I will be dining out elsewhere for the remainder of my stay. Food was not worth the wait or the price.

Staff very helpful Plenty of seating Good atmosphere Plenty of food choices Im not giving 5 stars only to the cost of the crumbed calamari $18 too expensive for 6 small pieces. Cooked well but not worth that price.

No service from staff? Order from the bar yourself an please accept our slimy salad served with your overpriced rotten food. The poor lighting helped cover the slimy salad until I used my torch to see the salads rotten slim.

Nice spot for dinner but unfortunately they don’t know how to cook a steak . My ‘rare’ was medium, and the medium rares were well done. Very disappointed , though they did cough up a bottle of red as an apology.

My wife and I hadn't dined here before, but an electrical outage resulted in us selecting a venue we've never visited instead of cooking at home. Walking in on a weeknight with no booking was met nonchalantly - with a very professional young bloke looking after us. I'm just going to throw this out - service levels in Australian restaurants are generally not fantastic. Not so here - a slight eye contact with our server resulted in him quietly making his way to our table - this is USA grade service minus the intrusiveness and tipping aspect - an absolute credit to this waiter and the venue. A young lady at the bar was also wonderfully attentive and pleasant. The dining area was dimly lit and quiet. We did feel a little underdressed in our work uniforms but were assured this wasn't an issue. Drinks were served quickly (and there's Malbec on the wine list!). We deliberated on mains. My wife doesn't normally order the steak, but settled on the medium rare rump - with salad and greens (a novel twist) with a sticky jus. I chose the medium rare eye fillet with salad and chips, and my eyes lit up when I saw Béarnaise sauce on the menu as an option. Béarnaise is a warm, emulsified daughter sauce of hollandaise and one of the best steak pairings alongside asparagus in my opinion. It makes a good steak great when executed well. Both our steaks were cooked perfectly medium rare - this is unusual in Toowoomba where consistency of doneness is generally poor in most venues. The steak quality was great - even the rump was tender and consistent in texture. Sauces were sadly lacking. A good jus has a gelatinous, concentrated quality that clings to meat - this one was watery, overly sweet and tasted artificial. Did I mention Béarnaise is meant to be served warm? It was served in a small ramekin, straight out of the refrigerator and lacking shallot and tarragon in both taste and appearance - it appeared to be a food service grade hollandaise. We did have room for dessert, and the Crème Brûlée here was delightful - the shallow ramekin made for a perfect balance between the custard and crunch of the sugar.

My partner and I visited on a Friday night. Atmosphere was great. Live music was beautiful. And the cocktails and service really set the night off to a great birthday dinner. But our main meals seriously were a let down. We paid $67 for our mains and my barramundi was tiny and the ribs were dry and the sauce was bitter. We took the ribs home because we didn’t want the money to go to waste. Shout out to the amazing bar tenders on the top bar tonight

Just had dinner here , thought it might be only a few people but it was quite busy and no wonder the service and food were excellent. Loved the pork belly and the cocktails were delicious. Really great relaxed atmosphere too. Thoroughly enjoyed dinner here. Highly recommend to those coming through Toowoomba and staying at Toowoomba.

Had an absolute amazing experience thanks to Eli turner. He went above and beyond to ensure that everything was perfect. The attention to detail and level of professionalism was outstanding. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I would highly recommend Eli to anyone looking for a top-notch service. Yeah he was weird looking kind of an oddball.. “not the sharpest tool in the shed” but that’s Alr overall top notch bloke

Had a lovely dinner with the family, we all got something different and all loved it. Great service and they even came and double checked our order. Drinks were great too ordered a few brookvale ginger beers and can't complain, the bar staff are very competent. As said before the food was fantastic and only thing missing is table service, I understand it's a bar tho so it's not a big loss. Would definitely go again, food is a bit high priced but you get what you pay for. Didn't get a photo of the food unfortunately because I was very excited to eat. (Get the Korean fried chicken, best wings I've had)

Great spot! Nice venue but Ashley behind the bar is the absolute worst! She made our party of 15 feel so uncomfortable with every drink we ordered. She needs to get out of hospitality, she doesn’t know what a smile is and is so rude! We had to leave because of her unpleasantness.

Came to Toowoomba for flower festival 🌺🌸🌼🌻🌹🌷💐 Booked The Rock for table for 2 tonight, the staff here all are very friendly and providing great service👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 quite a few big groups here, most of them were ordering steak, must be good😂 but I don’t feel like steak tonight so ordered chicken parmigiana, taste good, my hubby ordered trout, good taste and look good too Just the base of the background music a bit loud, definitely a good safe place to come for comfort food but a little bit pricey 😅

Belated Mothers Day lunch and The Rock didn't disappoint. The grazing board for 2 was fantastic, the pickled onions were absolutely amazing and everything was delicious. We finished it off by sharing the Eton Mess and will be back again for sure and bring friends.

An early screw up from the servers left us expecting a bad time. Thank God for little miracles though, all food was good. Other than the pork crackling being undeniably pre-bought with the pork belly main, no complaints at all. Bread and butter pudding was okay. I've had eggier. My steak was certainly not the advertised 300g but all our steaks were cooked perfectly, exactly as we ordered, which for a pub - very impressed, usually over. Other mains were applauded and better than your average pub meal. It's no fine dining but it's pretty good. A strong would recommend/10. An extensive bar and good range of beers on tap. Small complaint - very noisy, chairs have low arms too. Okay once you relax and sit back into them though. There's an upstairs section which always seems to be taped off. Intriguing. Haven't figured out the password yet. The guy on security loves to bop. Not sure how good he is at dealing with real security issues, but he does a little groove which I enjoyed. The singer on Friday night (14/08/2020) was exceptional. Nice one. Cocktails were not the best. Not bad but not that good. You could make as good at home with a little practice. We ordered sides but they didn't get put through. Luckily the mains were sufficiently filling so this turned out to be a non-issue. Some of the tables are placed inconveniently. Too close to the major thoroughfare. I don't want that many butts brushing my elbow thanks. There's a few negatives in here but they're all pretty minor so absolutely still deserving of 4 stars.
