Won’t be returning unfortunately, firstly the girl stuffed up and didn’t do 4 meals and then instead of apologising she was quite rude and walked off without saying sorry or letting us know that she was going to fix it up and was seen throwing her clip board because she obviously angry about it but it wasn’t our stuff up it was hers. If she had of just apologised we would have been fine and understood that people make mistakes but she wasn’t polite at all. Then I’ve just arrived home to notice I’ve been over charged and the same lady who stuffed up the meals is the one who did the payment at the end and she’s over charged me. I haven’t even bothered to ring up to complain because I’m honestly just so disappointed and can’t be bothered dealing with it. Such a shame because I was excited to finally find a place that we could eat at that caters diary free for my daughter and now that’s gone out the window and we won’t be returning. Very disappointing

We stopped for little coffee time with snack, when we entered, rude attitude middle age lady at the counter said “ write down your name !!” For keep record visiters after lock down .
There are a few different seating area. Indoor, outdoor and semi outdoor.
The lady who served our table was lovely ! And coffe and food was good.

We really enjoyed our time at the country pub today, and the meals were of fantastic variety. Overall a great find.

Went to a DJ night it was busy but staff were good and attentive I didn't eat drinks were reasonably priced

Welcomed from the moment we entered. Super friendly and helpful. Pleasant atmosphere for a lunch. Meals fresh and tasty. Definitely be back again

We had a family dinner for my sons 18th birthday. Group of 25. Management were really accommodating and helpful. Food was great. Thank you.

Visted the Royal today for lunch and I was impressed with the new look. The new owners made everyone feel welcome and the live music gave off a good vibe.

Three couples went out for a birthday celebration at this hotel. Never again. We woke up to a threatening and intimidating text accusing us of side swiping the publicans car, giving us a last chance to own up before they went to the police. We had nothing to do with it. We were safely in a taxi that was in pristine condition and had no knowledge of this event. Very upsetting to wake up to this sort of harassment

This place doesn’t even deserve a star!
Right from the minute we sat down Staff were very pushy for us to order, asking over and over.
The food arrived and it was very under average for its price to say the least, I sent my meal back it was that bad (I’m not one to usually complain) we were seated right near the kitchen and the kitchen has no door therefore we heard the whole conversation between the waitress and chef which was rude and so unprofessional, I was offered to order another meal, but the immaturity level of being laughed at made me decline that offer and just grabbed some maccas on the way home.
Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, don’t waste your money.

The only good thing was the service. Chicken Caesar salad was like nothing I’d ever seen before……and I hope I never do again! If I were paying $10 for my meal I couldn’t really complain, but I expected a lot more than a bit of warm limp lettuce and 2 overcooked chicken tenders for $29!! Extremely disappointing ☹️

The new skateboard share platter at the Royal Hotel Bacchus Marsh was amazing. Every part was a hit.
All staff were very friendly.
We will definitely be repeat customers.

The food was so delicious we had a big table and everyone of us loved our meals. I'm not sure if new owners but last time was cheap and horrible food. It now tastes and looks great. Service was very slow and was on a week night but as long as food is yummy, I am happy 😊

The food was delicious. I had the porterhouse ($44) and it was worth every penny. The pepper sauce was amazing and the steak was cooked to perfection. My partner had the Parma ($28) and couldn’t stop talking about it on the way home. The young girl who served us was super cool and service was super friendly and relaxed. Really good at making us feel comfortable and looked after. After our meal we had a drink in the Beergarden, which was great on a warm night and looked very nice with the lights hanging. Overall the food experience was great, can’t wait to go back.

Stopped for a meal, due to it being an animal welcome eating place. We were welcomed by management and staff and our order was taken very quickly. Although there were a minimum of patrons in the hotel, delivery of meals was a bit slow. The parmagana was very nice, however the t-bone steak was cold. Management offered a replacement, but as were small eaters, we declined. However a refund was given. Thank you. Till next time.

Steak was well cooked, chips could have been hotter. Not bad overall and would eat here again. Staff were pretty good, attentive but not hovering. Was fairly good value for money.

Monday evening when whole of Bacchus Marsh is totally dead , there is one Venue which will put smile on your face and that is ' The Royal Hotel', as it is not only open on Monday evening but is one of the best ones in the town . Love the food,service and the atmosphere. Highly recommend.

I was missing The Royal Hotel’s ribs in Portland. Im so glad ive looked up and saw another Royal Hotel near me (unsure if they’re the same chain of hotels). They have ribs on their menu. Totally satisfied my craving!!! Ribs were perfectly tender. The bbq sauce was divine. Only thing missing was a side of onion rings, I wish they have it on the menu. My partner loved his parma/parmi. I prefer going here than the pubs in Melton. Generous serving and lovely waitresses. We would surely be coming back.

Great Pub, great location and parking just over the road - couldn't be better except for food - and this definitely did not disappoint. A table of 10 was looked after very well and the quality and taste was enjoyed by all. Would say that a must to try out in the town.

Great country pub. Food was generous and delicious, staff were friendly and efficient. Everyone enjoyed their food and the quiet ambience. There is also a beer garden. Great for get togethers with family and friends.

Got the chicken schnitzel, from the Royal.
The wait for the meal was awhile, the chicken schnitzel tasted like a maccas chicken nugget and was soggy. Chips were cold but were seasoned nicely. gravy wasn’t nice at all. The dinning room is too loud and making it difficult to talk to your own people on your own table. Ticked the Royal off in the Marsh and probably won’t come back.

Extremely disappointing, we had a table of 16 for our Christmas luncheon and not one guest rated their meal more than passable. It's not like they didn't have plenty of notice with our booking so there was no excuse for them to go out and buy packet frozen fish and grate cabbage without dressing and call that salad. However the chips were great and the best part of the meal, all agreed.

A good 'ol town pub. Not trying to be something it's not. Locals stare at you when you enter and the food is basic but solid.
