The only pub I choose in QBN. I've tried them all, stick to the best. The beer selection is faultless, the wines are fine. The food is exactly what you want, comes warm, fills you up and is tasty.

Staff are absolutely amazing! Food was great! I’ve just had my engagement party here and they were so easy to deal with, friendly plus the venue is fantastic. Thank you!

Sometimes you go somewhere and go in a pub and think "I wish this place was near me". This is one of those pubs! Awesome food, great beers and ciders on tap and some of the friendliest people behind a bar that you'll ever meet. It was the busiest place in town.

Probably the best pub in town with an outdoor eating space. They often have live music too. Great food, try the Royal pizza. Great drinks, great friendly staff.

Pizza's are topped way too excessively with really cheap ingredients and with too much cheese.
The toppings being under the cheese end up uncooked because there is too much cheese on top preventing any ability for toppings to cook. Also edges and any toppings outside of the cheese burn from the sheer heat needed to get a toast on the excessive amount of cheese.
I honestly think they are wasting money, and could spend less money if they used better quality ingredients for toppings, and put 1/4 of the amount of toppings + cheese on than the way they are going about it now.
90% of toppings are falling off every slice and wasted anyway.
Less toppings, less cheese, better quality ingredients for the same price could easily be achieved, and it would taste so much better. Honestly tastes bad when you get a pizza thats base 60%toppings and 40% cheese on super thin bases that end up soggy and to have cold meat under boiling cheese shows that there is WAY too much on there.
Was okay after scraping off raw/uncooked ingredients under the cheese.

On entering we thought the pub had classed up. Looked great!
We ordered a range of Chicken schnitzels and different toppings. They were delicious.
Daughter ordered off kids menu. A Cheeseburger and this was a hunk of tasteless meat and very very pink inside.
We went to the bathroom, nice and clean but both soap dispensers were broken. I gather the business does not know about temporary dispensers…
We were there for part of a celebration and wanted to sit for a bit after meal. We were considering dessert but with no one coming to clear our table, as we did have entrees and mains, it was getting a bit crowded and we did not feel looked after.

Nice premises and good location in town. Nice to have the option of a vegetarian burger. However, the greasiness let it down. Chips that came with were great, but just he burger I felt was average. One of the only places around that is dog friendly.

Just a fantastic Hotel! The Royal Hotel QBN. Been refurbed. Spacious. Great food. Service. Music. Fire! Gorgeous fittings/furniture. Etc! Love it. 5 stars from me 😃

It's a solid pub but nothing overly stands out about it. Service is fair and staff are friendly. Food is ok prices maybe a little high. Tricky to find parking.

I ordered a pizza here today 8/1/2024 at lunchtime, here are my comments
Staff appear disinterested and unprofessional - poorly presented bald male barman had stains on his untucked shirt, sitting at dining tables talking loudly on his phone. I observed him coughing on several occasions without covering his mouth, which put me off ordering a drink from a glass he might have coughed in. I heard staff swearing in audible conversations with patrons. I thought the menu was pretty overpriced, chicken parmigiana $34, really!!! I settled on a meatlovers pizza for $27 and ordered. I got what I paid for! The female staff member (who had a bit of a potty mouth) took my order and after hunting around I found some cutlery and waited for lunch.
I had to wait a pretty long time to collect it and didnt really like it sitting in front of the counter in front of people ordering.
The pizza looked alright, though drowning in cheese but was horrible. The crust was soggy, and hadn't been cut properly and I had to struggle to cut the thing into slices It was a workout to eat and was the worst stodgy, greasy pizza I have had and it collapsed upon picking up. I was that hungry I ate most of it but was horrible, and my stomach hated me for hours afterwards.
I had a good mind to complain but couldnt be bothered conversing with the grotty staff. The royal has a big screen tv which is good but in future I will go elsewhere to eat when in queanbeyan. Some staff training in basic customer service and halfway professional standards would not go astray either.
Never again.

I had the vegetarian pizza and the vegetarian pasta. The vegetarian pasta was very ordinary. They literally just boiled pasta and combined with vegetables with no sauce. The pizza was better. It tasted like they handmade the dough.

Had my 60th in the Manhattan room upstairs and it was like having my own private nightclub for the evening, we had so much fun! The food was delicious, and the service was excellent.
Thank you Liz, Ella, Liv and Matt for looking after all of us and to Bianca for making it stress free to organise. They also catered well for dietary requirements! Highly recommend.

Had dinner her with some friends. The place had improved over r the years and is now a family friendly bistro. Did we good though on the expensive end for good pub meals. This is and order and pickup your own food place, so no table service. I would go again but only if someone else picked f this place, I prefer a different pub in Queanbeyan as my go to.

Had a terrific lunch at the Royal Bistro with friends. We were all pleased with our meals: medium-rare rump steaks with Diane sauce, chicken bang bang salad, Japanese bowl with salmon, warm grilled beef salad, chicken Caesar salad, and a Portobello mushroom and feta burger for vegan me. 😂 Shared calamari, pizza, and nachos too. Great atmosphere, charming pub with great food. So happy.

Excellent food and atmosphere, the cocktails were fantastic. Best steak I've had in ages! Live music on a Thursday night, wonderful staff and facilities. Only downside was the bistro area was a bit cramped with tables close together and to the bar, but overall a wonderful spot for a meal out. My brother highly recommends the fruit tingle!

Eastern here 4 times in my 3 weeks staying in Queanbeyan. Each meal has been exceptional. Their 45 dollar steak (a bit of a local icon) was fantastic, the beef burger had lots of tang and great crunch, and the spicy parmi, although a bit big for me (great for a tradie after a big day), was really good.
The beer selection is fairly decent, good for a country town pub, and the venue is nice. It'd be a tight fight between this and the Queanbeyan Hotel, but I think the Royal comes out on top.

Dinner was absolutely beautiful. A huge shout out to Ronan, our cocktails were amazing! He certainly knows his stuff. I am in Queanbeyan for a night every 3 months, and always come here for dinner. The staff, atmosphere and food are always on point.

Came to Royal Hotel whilst in town for work. A very modern hotel with plenty of room! Massive menu of great pub foods. Had the load parmi which was brilliant! Portion size was massive and really reasonably priced. Food was out very quickly! Big selection of drinks and staff were super friendly! Not a lot of parking but just down the street there is a big car park so it’s only a short walk. All in all would highly recommend!

Best wings ever! $18 for 10 pieces of buffalo wings with *just* the right amount of ranch. $12 for a good amount of house-made chips with chipotle mayo. Very attentive staff & clean amenities. Apple crumble is a must-try.

Best steaks in Canberra at this unassuming pub. Some really nice cuts of meat and excellent cooking of the steaks.

Amazing pub. No wonder it was pub of the year (NSW) and won best steak in Australia. Amazing food. Great live acts (music and comedy etc). Food fantastic. Good TAB area - proud to call this my local. Great staff - in particular Hevi, Matt, Mariana & Melinda.
