This charming Victorian-style hotel is an 8-minute walk from Cranbourne train station, 5 km from the Royal Botanic Gardens, and 13 km from the Australian Shark and Ray Centre. Refined rooms feature period furnishings and balconies/terraces, as well as minifridges, Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and tea and coffeemaking facilities. Upgraded quarters add whirlpool baths and/or 4-poster beds. Continental breakfast is offered. Other amenities include a casual bistro/bar, as well as a cafe with a fireplace and terrace seating. Went to the settlement hotel yesterday morning with my wife arrived 10:30 am all we wanted was cheese Ham toasty with a coffee not a main meal.
We were told 11am we can order so we had a coffee quick chat went back to the bar to order the toasty only to be told we can't sit at the table and eat it's regarded as a Snack menu and can only be eaten in pokies area why the staff member behind the bar didn't say this at the start

Went for dinner with a group of 12 or so for children's birthdays. Staff were helpful and accommodating. We ordered the seafood platter at $56.00 for 2. The presentation of the dish was very ordinary, looked as though it was thrown on the platter randomly onto the top of the accompanying salad without much concern for aesthetics. The salad itself was very underwhelming as was the dressing, flavourless and drowning the salad. The others at the table were equally unimpressed with their individual dishes.| |The rating I've given would have been even lower it wasn't for the staff who were friendly and as I said at the top accommodating.||We won't go again.

We love our local but wonder if it’s under new owners or management. Tonight the staff were on hyperdrive, we left our table for 3 minutes to tap pay a toy machine and came back and the table was completely cleared. Our half eaten food, the kids drawings and packs thrown out the kids were so upset (we had been there at this point 20 minutes). The staff were understanding and nice enough to give us new packs, but while we were ordering our icecream they tried to do it again. It was insane, there were 3 families in the entire restaurant and we surely hadn’t overstayed.

We have stayed at the Settlement for almost 3 weeks. Good food, good people and comfy room. Albeit the aircon is very noisy. Katrina in the Bistro provided us excellent service.
No cooked breakfast is a detractor for us and may explore the Sands. We stay for 3 weeks every 4 months.

We have stayed at the Settlement Cranbourne before and were pleased with the accommodation, staff and bistro. This time we had booked in for a week over Christmas. Unfortunately the family we were coming to see were diagnosed with Covid, so we had to cancel our booking with the Settlement at very short notice. The staff were extremely understanding and cancelled our booking without charge because we'd booked directly with them.
We highly recommend this establishment and will be staying with them again next time we come to see our family in Cranbourne.

We have been eating at The Settlement Hotel cafe bar for many years and their wood-fired pizzas were the best! Unfortunately, under the new owners, wood-fired pizzas are no longer on the menu! Very disappointed! :-(

We had lunch in the “Family Bistro”.
Honey Mustard Chicken and Pumpkin & Zucchini Risotto.
Both meals were delicious. My partner thought that my Risotto was a bit “gluggy”, but I thought it was very nice.
Very nicely laid out, big open Bistro.
All staff were very friendly and helpful.
All in all, very enjoyable lunch.
Well worth a visit.

we booked 12 people and a high chair we were squashed on a table for 10 and as we had the menu emailed when making the booking we had our orders ready only to find a completely different menu and a large price rise. The seniors were very dissapointed as we went in Feb and the food and prices were great. We have been going once a week and now its gone up and the quality of food has gone down we wont be going again. We will go to Dandenong RSL for a fabulous feed at great price, its worth the extra petrol. I know they were busy and the staff were doing a good job of keeping up on Mothers day but food and information before we went as well as inflated prices let them down

We ate dinner in the cafe. The food was great, and it was a nice, cosy atmosphere, with the open fire going

Was disappointed in my visit. Despite being the second person to order on my table many other meals came out from the kitchen. I brought this to the attention of the wait staff and the manager came over to confirm with an apology and an "it won't be long" ...... but it was. They processed all the orders from our table and a large birthday party and nearly a full hour after I ordered, my parma finally arrived. [No apology or any other recompense offered - a free drink wouldn't have hurt]
No, it wasn't worth the wait either with the crumb quite blackened and the bolognese topping bland in flavour.
Sadly won't be rushing back to what used to be a nice bistro.

Was a dead set pleasant place to stay the lady who works reception was so helpful and friendly was by far the best hotel I've stayed in

Today, I met a friend for lunch in the Bistro. Arancini was luke warm, chargrilled vegetable pizza had a handful of capsicum and onion pieces only. It too was luke warm and the side of chips were soggy.
Definitely looking for an alternative venue.

This was in the bistro part of the establishment, went here for my fathers birthday, they messed up taking our order entering the wrong type of parma for one of our meals, this shouldnt be a big deal but when they brought the wrong one and were told that we had ordered a different type they come back a while later with another incorrect meal then try insisting we take it and go talk to management. Anywhere else simply would have given you the meal you asked for. They also stuffed up the coffee order i placed that was supposed to come out with the cakes we brought, they brought the wrong coffee and had to be asked 3 times to bring out the cakes. I doubt i will try this place again.

The hotel is good food is great and the service is good. Just wish instead of all the poker machines. Get some music back

The food I bought a steak. I’m now at the Hallem hotel that’s how bad the food was. I couldn’t eat it a steak that was couldn’t cook frozen. The only thing I ate was a couple of chips that they put Salt on, and that’s my choice, not theirs the veggies 5 out of 10 the services dropped through the roof so I wasted 50 bucks and now I’ve gotta come and eat somewhere else and I got told I said it’s got new owners well review hopefully gets to a lot of people the food looks fantastic. Don’t get me wrong, but once you eat it, you feel like thrown in the bin I’ve eaten out of garbage better than that go across the road in the rubbish bin you’ll find better than that

Showing my age but the best seniors meals and a very decent steak on steak night wine list could benefit from a couple more choices but overall a roomy open venue, staff all engaging and helpful.

Seniors meal was a bit small for me ( 1 small piece of fish) but maybe good for others. $15 pretty good

On July 6 2024 we held an after dinner wedding here for 48 people.it was perfect all the meals were fantastic every plate or bowl was empty.the service for such a huge group was amazing.no one waited long to receive their meals..our special thanks to the manageress Colleen who went out of her way to make this happen.we could even dress our own tables which was nice.a big thank you to Zoe and and one of your staff members Katrina! On arrival, we were promptly shown to our table. Meals were various, from porterhouse steak 1 cooked blue and the other rare, the kitchen was flexible enough to cater a plate of calamari as a main meal. Fish and chips and the chicken and chip kids meal.
ALL were cooked to perfection. Food presentation was pleasing and quick to the table. Staff were friendly and professional. Amenities were clean, main restaurant clean and tidy. The only downside was the wait for mixed drinks from the bar. Will definitely return at a future date.

I went in for dinner ordered a pizza waiting almost an hour for my food all while watching people arrive long after me order and get meals before me, the food I got was burnt and flavourless if it was nice food I'd not care so much about the wait I didn't even eat it all it was that bad.

I can't give me than 1 star. It had been at least a couple of years since I've eaten there, and I used to love going there. I happened to be in the vicinity on Monday and decided to go back there for dinner. What a big disappointment. The Chicken Scallopini I ordered was as hard and tough as leather. It had no taste as if it's not been marinated. There was more mesh than the chicken as if the mesh was the main dish. My wife had the Pumpkin soup. Mind you they were right when they said the special was Pumpkin soup because that was all she had. Never in my life have I seen anywhere serving soup without as least a slice of bread. There was nothing but soup which wasn't all that great too. Well it might be decades before I go back there.

Hubby and I came here for dinner last night. New management, New bistro menu......Not impressed at all. This place has really gone down hill. Bistro was very quiet for a friday night (was not busy at all. Maybe only 4 other tables being used). None of meals listed on the new menu took our fancy (very minimal food choice) so we just ordered cheesy garlic bread and a chicken parma each. Meals were very slow coming out which was suprising especially since it wasnt busy. The garlic bread tasted nothing like it use too. Bread was very thin and had not much flavour at all. Chicken parma was barely even warm. Chips were hot but over cooked. Did not even finish the meal. Could have cooked the same meal at home for a fraction of what we paid and it would have tasted better then what they served up. Very disappointing. Use to love coming here but we won't ever be back.

Great location. Reception was rude on two occasions regarding simple requests. Stayed in the spa room, room was beautiful. However, if you want a hot shower, think again. Pressure is pathetic & water temperature is set at a temperature of their doing. Wife had a shower @ 04.30 in the morning & it was still cold then so no excuse about multiple people using it at the same time.
Will not stay here again..

Gorgeous hotel!! Came from interstate for a friend’s wedding and stayed here one night. Reception staff were lovely and super helpful, room was huge and I still can’t get over how big the bathtub was. Free continental breakfast was also a huge bonus. I’ll definitely be returning in future, I can’t recommend this hotel enough!

Bistro dinner with friends. Very good indeed. Delicious food and great service. Very cheerful atmosphere here. We’ll be back.
