"Wow, what an incredible stay at Southern Hotel! The food was simply awesome, especially the pizza - it was out of this world! But what truly made our experience exceptional was the outstanding staff. Special shoutout to JP, the manager, who went above and beyond to make our dinner unforgettable. His warm hospitality, attention to detail, and accommodating nature made us feel like royalty. JP, you're a true asset to southern! We can't wait to come back and experience it all again. 5 stars and a huge thumbs up from us!"

We will definitely come back. JP provided exceptional customer service! Despite not having a reservation on a busy night, we received excellent attention and enjoyed a sumptuous meal. The service was truly outstanding.

We booked a table for 30 people through JP. We ended up having at least 20 more people join us and JP and the staff were so accommodating. It was a great start to a fun weekend in Toowoomba. Thanks again JP for making it such a smooth night. Highly recommended.

This place always has great food but lacked good hospitality and service.
Well last night we had a table of 12 for my son's birthday. JP was amazing. He actually took my phone booking. This guy is funny as, and went out of his way to please us. He even sang Happy Birthday to my son..Amazing. we will be back!

The Southern is one of our go to pubs. Today was maybe an off day. One of us had crumbed fish - expect it might be frozen product. Initial reaction this is really nice until the bones - both big and small and when piece opened could see uneven cook. For me the salad was mainly green leafs (over 75%) with tiny bit of other. Great coffee Become a member (free) and get discounts on food and drink. Bathrooms are clean Great parking.
Waiting to see what it's like when renovations finished.

The service was great thanks to a server named J.P, he was very attentive throughout the night which made everything during our dinner smoother would definitely come back to eat dinner here again.

There were 12 of us who went for a work lunch at Fire and Ice in The Southern Hotel. The service was excellent, matched by the food, at reasonable pricing. The food service was prompt and meals arrived together. Lots of positive comments all round! Highly recommended.

The food is great. My son loves the southern burger. The service is magnificent. His name is JP who served us. He's great and excellent in accommodation us. He always smile and ask what we need more.

The food here is absolutely great. The dish we tried is bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. The servings are very generous. Thank you to JP for his warm welcome and great customer service. 😊

The first night our order got lost and the second one everyone in our group got their food first when we ordered first. We called to make a booking as we had a large group and they said they didn't take bookings. When we arrived they said sorry you can't sit here the tables are reserved.

Shared a meal here with my grandson. Service from JP and the staff was amazing service. JP always gives amazing service. Even when they are super busy food came out very fast

Recently dined here for a local celebration
It’s bright and airy and freshly decorated
There’s three options a cafe a restaurant called fire and Ice and the bar all fairly casual affairs
Service is friendly but without fuss! It’s a good idea to take out a membership as for example a $38 rib steak comes down to $ 34 with membership so you will save a bit on a big order

Really fun lil bar, with pool table, darts and good and a nice outdoor area with good heating. Even when busy staff are very on top of things

Popped in for dinner lovely atmosphere.. service was wonderful.. prices about average .. my meal was great but comments from around the table were some meals hit & miss. Vegetables still a bit cold.. rump steak over done. Ribs were really good.

Ordered take-away meals. Chicken Parmigiana and a rump steak.
Chicken way okay but the steak was horrible. The meat was so tough and full of gristle. The steak was cooked to order (rare) but the quality of meat was no where near the quality expected for the price. Half the steak was not edible. Chips on both meals were overcooked. Quite disappointed with the meal and service.

One bad staff member could have wrecked a good night. Terrible service from the greeting person with her bad behaviour continuing through the night. Removing items from out table without asking or communicating, her discussions with other staff was extremely aggressive and rude and in front of customers. No excuse. Luckily the food was good value, and very nice. The other serving staff were extremely polite and very good to us.
We’ve had had a return visit with more reasonable level of service. The excessive service of alcohol can create aggressive behaviours. I know it’s quite the norm here but we need to remember to leave earlier next time.

Not happy with the Steak Sandwich meat was tough & gristly Had to take the meat out of the sandwich & cut out suitable chewable pieces. Worst Steak choice for a steak sandwich! Crumbed steak hard to chew & cut! Wasn't the beast meal!

Nice place to visit with friendly staff. Hubby had steak which he said was perfect,I had the roast of the day which wasn't great, most veggies seemed to be from a frozen packet and the one piece of roast potatoe on the place was dry. Lesson learnt, get the steak next time.

Nice meals, fuss free ordering. We were part of a large group, we were all fed in a timely fashion. Drinks were refreshing although a little expensive for a pub. Some of the local 'lads' were celebrating or commiserating something that required drag dress. Quite entertaining!

I was having a lovely time until 1 staff member ruined it. The young man allowed a 2 bit criminal with no money and annoying customers for money over 3 Max better's. Go figure.... I'd like to comment on the beautiful food I could smell but didn't make it that far. Let's hope the criminal bought a meal from you.
I thought the staff was pretty incredible, fantastic, happy people. Until I met the young one.

I had a fantastic experience at this place! The atmosphere was lively, food was great, and the staff, especially JP, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. His friendly demeanor and excellent service truly enhanced our visit. Will definitely be back! Highly recommend the Filipino style BBQ pork belly!

Had lunch with hubby yesterday. I had a seniors rump steak .it was actually a piece of 1 mm thin sandwich meat. Very disappointed. Husband enjoyed his ribs.

Food was great!!! It's a huge serving. 101% value for your money! I couldn't even finish my meal. Finally a place that offers fresh juice.. Great ambience, plenty of space for parking. All in all it's a great place dine in.

Food was good but veg was cold and undercooked. Hubby had 400g rump which was cooked perfectly the way he asked(mr) and i had the lamb shank.Some staff were very friendly and seemed happy to be there while others were very unhappy and didn't look like they wanted to be there.

Broad menu range. Lambs shanks delicious. Family friendly. Staff are awesome, friendly, and very helpful. Recommend becoming a member for discounts on food and beverages. Great semi-outdoor terrace. Also vegan and GF friendly. They'd probably cater for other needs also. Well worth a visit for a meal when in Toowoomba. 🌸

Ah the southern hotel! Many, many milestones celebrated here. Many good times had at the old watering hole. The southern have great theme nights as well as the best venue for state of origin. There's a great bar with all the favourite drinks. There's a pool table (free on Sundays) gaming room, TAB room and many wide screen tvs to watch ufc, football, cricket or whatever else is on. There's a great outdoor area with heaters and fireplaces and a restaurant right next door with a wide selection of meals. 10/10 would recommend the southern for your next catch up or function! New photos of the recent extension area called the Terrace
