We were a larger group and went for lunch on Easter Monday. The staff and service were amazing despite being a busy afternoon. The food was top notch as well. Only thing I ould say is there is room for improvement on the pizza's. Felt like from the frozen section but other than that everything was great!!

We went to the bistro for dinner. The service was very quick with friendly staff and the food was really tasty. There was plenty to keep the kids busy too. Plus the food was well priced.

We went last year and it was great, back again 2024 and the food was terrible. My husband got the same as last time, satay stir fry, it was completely different, the satay looked like water downed peanut butter and had no taste. I had the fish with cauliflower mousse and that was it.. too much mousse, a small salad and/or chips would have been nice. We got our dessert for nothing after we spoke to the waitress. Sticky date was like a chocolate cake with a chocolate sauce. Mini pavs OK. We were told there was a new chef. If that's how the new chef cooks then I won't be going back. Hard to recommend at this stage.

The staff are wonderful and the facilities are unique, reasonable and good for families.... but... this is not a $40 Steak and the Long Island Ice Teas are equally disappointing. The schnitzel and parmi's are definitely winners, so maybe just avoid the beef?? We ordered two drinks, two mains and spent $100.

There were a few things that I feel need improvement. The air conditioner was old and was hard to turn on and off. Needed to call the staff for assitance. The toilet looked worn, the shower head seemed clogged, so the water didn't come out properly. The cutlery was wooden, disposable and only 1 teaspoon, so couldn't have more than 1 cup of coffee per day, as couldn't clean it for future use. Curtain was in need of fixing. Only good thing was the beds were comfortable. Such a shame, as the hotel itself looks amazing with the Egyptian theme. We didn't eat there this time, but from past experience, I found the meals average compared to other places.

The moment we walked in, the first staff member was hostile. I am not sure if it was a racist act of hate but the moment we turn around to leave she then mumble under her breath. We will most certainly not be back any time soon.

Such a great menu at affordable prices. I’m gradually working my way through the menu and haven’t had a bad experience yet! Child friendly food and atmosphere, with a great little play area. I always book but I noticed that the staff go out of their way to seat those who are walk ins. Heaps of parking close to the entrance. I’m a people watcher and see a variety of patrons- tradies in boots and hi vis, families in casual gear, special occasion diners with guests dressed to the nines. Everyone is made welcome here. I’m a regular diner and plan to continue.

Rooms not very clean, shower drain covered in mould, toilet seat wasn't cleaned before arrival. Not worth the almost $200 per night.. gaming area is nice, restaurant, pool table all great, husband got asked to go get changed and put a tshirt on due to not being able to wear a singlet in the gaming area, even though myself ( female ) and another female were wearing singlets, maybe it was the visible tattoos that were the issue?

Rooms are definitely due for a good touch up. The food in the bistro/sports bar is terrible!!! Had a Parma and was so dry with little sauce used and spread on top of the ham with very cheap and tasteless cheese used on top! This place is rapidly going down hill. Stayed here annually the past 6 years now and very unlikely I will be back

Not a bad place, very basic no dinner plates or cutlery in the motel section They also photocopy your licence upon arrival which raises suspicion as I've never had this before..

My husband and I decided to pop in here for a bit of fun at the pokies and dinner. It's was okay. Run down and the staff weren't very friendly. Food was good enough. We wouldn't go back again but it was a cute experience.

Love coming here. Great for kids. Accommodation looks a little dated, pool needs work. Great sports bar, Tab, Keno, lots of screens. Good outdoor area. Meals good. Plenty of Egyptian photo opportunities. Lots of parking. Pokies as well.

Jody the waitress was so rude to all of the guests I was with and when I asked her for a refund for the food I didn’t receive she went berserk, yelling the Fxxk word several times and refused to give my money back and it’s a absolute disgrace that the management and owners have still got her working there,we have had so many meals their but never again will I ever step foot in t thatplace with trashy mouth waitress like Jody,no one deserves to be treated the way she treated us🤬🤬🤬

Haven't been to The Sphinx in years! Thought why not try it out. Went on the Thursday Parmi Night $22 Aussie Parmi, overall pretty good, served out on time and a decent portion with great chips and salad. The Chicken however did feel/taste a bit cheap. Not the end of the world, but I was expecting the Chicken breast to be of a higher quality. Otherwise The Sphinx is not bad. Neat, friendly chatty staff and does a good job at capturing the Egyptian vibe with the interior decor

Great pub grub here, great service, fast fresh food and good value for money. Pep had chicken schnitz chips and salad all made and plated fresh I went the linguine marinara.... caused a riot of laughter from kitchen because I asked for linguine marijuana..... only could happen to me. They got a laugh out of it.

Great location with close access to all Geelong has to offer. Amazing presentation with real life like Egyptian statue's and monuments. Some real wow factor here! A must see.

Best place in Geelong. Sports Bar has reasonably priced lunch time meals and there is a comprehensive restaurant adjoining. Decor is an Egyptian theme that is tastefully done and plenty of space for larger families or groups. The staff are energetic and thorough in their service to their guests with delicious meals being served in a reasonable fashion.

Been coming for years, food has generally been great, but seems to be getting stingy, kids meals are tiny all of a sudden. The surf an turn is now apparently 2 tiny prawns in some mediocre sauce, which is "just how it is, nothing we can do about it". Won't be coming back in a hurry, which is a shame, as I used to enjoy the food here.

Again, great food. I don’t understand any of the negative reviews. Staff are great. Menu is extensive, with weekly specials. Servings are quite large - man sized, I’d say but luckily take away containers are available, free of charge, so you can enjoy the rest of the meal at home. I am a regular patron of this place, so close to home too.
