Worst dining experience in my life.
No gluten free option for my child.
My sister’s chicken was raw, and had to be returned. My wife’s ‘crispy squid’ was soggy and went uneaten. My brother in-laws chicken was undercooked and went uneaten. Two wines tasted bad and went un-drunk. The sound of the rugby on the tv next to our table was off the charts.
Absolute disgrace. The universe played a joke on us tonight, and I can hardly believe how bad it was.

What happened to the local pub vibe? Good meals. Good value. Good choices.
Prices through the roof. Pay extra for veggies if you don't want salad. $10 extra.
Even the menu selection isn't the best anymore.
And the guy swanning around the place like he owns it. Big bearded guy.
You have lost it. You have lost customers. I'm sure the locals will be next. The locals are the heart and soul of keeping this place alive once the tourists have all gone home.
Have a real close look at the long term staff who have built the pub up and the new guy who is tearing it down.
I gave a 5 star service review as Wayne and Julie are awesome hosts and represent The Star Hotel in a manner of professionalism. That surpasses the new guy there.
I am more than happy to discuss this review in more detail if the owners feel it necessary.

We went to the pub for dinner and had some beers and pizzas. They had quite a few options and the staff is very friendly.

We had dinner at the star and the meals were nice. I had the middle eastern chicken skewers with hummus, it came with a nice salad and my husband had the steak. The dinners came out quickly. It is a fairly old pub inside but fine for when you want a quick pub meal.

We are regular visitors to Bright and always dine at the Star Hotel. Always great food and great service by great people. Just wanted to give a shout out to the team serving us tonight which was a public holiday of a long weekend. Our meals were delicious and arrived quickly. The team were so busy with the venue fully booked but seemed to have it all under control. Unfortunately other venues in Bright are dealing with staff shortages impacting operations but it seems a great meal served by great people continues to be available at The Star Hotel.

The only good things were the roast and the dessert. Gnocchi was overcooked and drowned in over salty and garlic sauce, none of our party of four could eat it, it was sickly. Tandoori chicken was pink and raw, the rice was dry, and it tasted nothing like tandoori chicken at all. Both meals were undersized and overpriced. Mostly, the issue was the lack of interest in fixing the issues we mentioned. We told two separate staff members and heard nothing after. We
left with one hungry diner and another worrying about food poisoning. The least we could have been offered a credit, replacement meal, or a refund. We will not be back.

The chicken wings we had was too vinegary, chef please neutralise it by adding butter.

Stopped here for my Fiancee's birthday lunch, all was going great untill my partners Scotch fillet steak came out and it was off, I took a bite myself after she asked me what I thought, it was disgusting! They asked if we wanted another one, no thanks mate, we can't eat steak hear again after tasting that! We opted for the fish and chips instead.

Stayed in Bright for 1 night and decided to come here for dinner. Service was really great. Staff were really fast to come over and take our food and drinks order. The restaurant was busy with most tables taken up and the rest were reserved, and yet the food only took 10-15minutes.
I did ask to add pineapple onto my schnitzel, and they forgot to put it on, but the food was super delicious and I would definitely return if I visited again.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Table we reserved on the public holiday was ready for us. That’s always great.
But sadly the food was mediocre at best. The schnitzel I ordered was overcooked and really poor. Not many places can kill a schnitzel but they did.
Listening to other diners, the other food wasn’t a lot better.

Myself and partner ordered iced water at bar, (after long bike ride) asked if food was available, was informed no, then attempted to eat peanuts from small bag, was informed by barman to cease eating peanuts and that no outside food to be brought into bar. Barman was extremely rude in this request, I told him that he must be joking, he then stated "trying to run a business not a charity"....will never return again

Hot Rod weekend was busy, busy, busy!
The team at the star where fab! Got us fed quickly & found us a table although we didn’t have a booking. Highly recommended for a good pub feed & a crisp cold beer!

Great staff, fast service on for a busy Thursday dinner.
Came in for their Thursday Parma night. Many flavors to choose from. Good serving size and quality food.
Ordered the Macho Nacho, Goin- Troppo and The Star. They were amazingly tasty!

Great pub! Super friendly staff who, even on a busy Friday night, took the time to make you feel welcome. Exceptional pub feed to top it off ! 10/10 from us!

Got a chicken parmigiana for $25 and a pint of beer for $13. Very reasonably priced and quick service. The chicken was delicious and chips were crunchy. Would recommend if you’re looking for a good value feed!

Fantastic meal, very well priced and really fast service. The fish and chips was a large serving and very tasty. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Bright.

Chicken parma was dry, the sauce was slimy, and the salad was pritty much cabbage. This is the worst meal I have ever had, and cant beleve a chef would surve this up. Costing $59 for 2 palmers.

Came on a cold rainy day. Was nice and warm inside. The young lady with the nose ring was lovely, even accommodated us with changing the tv as it wasn't appropriate for my young daughter... Food was amazing. Two of us had the Kiev chicken parmigiana and it was amazing. Scotch steak was exceptional. Empty plates all around! Read some bad reviews so glad I didn't listen but made up our own minds... Relaxed atmosphere... Beer was extraordinary, cold and crisp... Will be back again for sure if ever in Bright again!

Came here with my parents and my son.
Delicious food woth quick service.
Servings were quite large.
The pork sausages were delicious.

Bistro dinner was pretty damn good. Staff were all polite and helpful. Atmosphere was a little lacking but that was probably more due a lack of local patronage on such a busy weekend with tourists.

A group of us stayed in Bright for 2 days and had dinner at The Star Hotel both nights. Cold beer and great meals, one of the best steaks I've ever had. But best of all was the service, which is hard to find these days. Highly recommended.
