Wonderful cheerful welcoming staff from the minute we walked in the door. Food was delicious. Could not fault it, well priced and good size serving, especially seniors meals we had. This was pre theatre dinner and we had lunch a little while ago and the experience was equally as good, particularly when it was so busy for dinner. We booked and the welcoming waitress actually thanked us for that with a big friendly smile.

We were on a time limit right during peak hour, the lady who took our order was amazing, she assured us our lunches would come out with plenty of time for us to enjoy, the cooks did an awesome job getting them done so quick!
And lunch for $25 with a beer or wine, what a bargain.

We were able to get in on short notice. The food & the service was lovely. Recommend the Bruschetta

Were down from yeppoon qld ..meet up with family an friends for meal..every meal was amazing everything was spot on..verry friendly staff..i put 50bux in pokies an won 280 so toped the night off...would recommend..was wensday night an was really busy so would book table...cheers

We had a delicious lunch there on a weekend. The meal was excellent and very filling and we also got a complimentary lunchtime drink with our meal. The staff were very polite and helpful. The Bistro was very tidy and clean and there was also a kid's play area.

We always enjoy a family dinner at The Star. The staff are always friendly, food is great quality and quick to come out especially if you get in early. We love that kids eat free on Wednesdays and Fridays and the kids enjoy the kids room

#Vegan wild mushroom and garlic gnocchi approx $27 🤔 what to say. Tasted like vegan gnocchi and the texture too. Very rich. Possibly I'd enjoy more with red wine 3.7/5
#Fettuccine, hubby said it was good and was satisfied gave a 4.5/5
#potato and leek soup entree from specials board. $12 friend thought it was a good amount for the cost but wasn't seasoned as well as she'd like so gave a 3.8/5 overall
#risotto with salmon friend was happy with it, the Parmigiano wafers weren't wafer but thick. She gave a 4/5
#friend had a seniors calamari with salad, said was well done 👏 4.5/5
#another friend had beef cheeks. Seriously looked AMAZING, found a clump of hair on the first one, so they took it back ASAP and remade it and gave a free drink. She didn't provide a rating.
Staff were friendly and helpful when catering to my friends allergy, honestly they went above and beyond there. 👌

This place was nice until me and my brother were being quiet and respectful, bothering nobody just playing a fun game of pool. Then all of a sudden this Cranky Old Bald Lady started screaming at us saying that we can’t be in here without a parent. We were in a play room minding our Own business and we said “Why not?”. Then she said it is highly illegal and we must leave the property. Me and my brother also used our last $3 to play the pool game which we didn’t even finish and didn’t get a refund. Overall it was a very bad experience. DO NOT COME HERE!!!!

There was no table service, we had to order our drinks, pay and pick up at the bar, then we had to go order our food, get water.. basically a self service restaurant which I don’t care for.
I ordered my steak medium well but it was delivered medium rare. The chicken parmigiana was too sweet (who puts sugar on chicken anyway!)
Salads were alright.
Place got busy and loud around 7 pm.

The meal was delicious, service was prompt. Great seeing Jeremy the owner intermingling with the patrons makes for a friendly vibe throughout the pub.

The calamari was amazing and after having many bad experiences with steak sandwiches, we decided to give it another go. So glad we did because we were pleasantly surprised to have our faith restored in the classic steak sandwich. It was such a tender piece of steak with no fatty bits, and the flavour was the best we’ve had. Absolutely yum! We will be back 😊

Surprising dining experience, impressed by the lunch meals. Food quality and presentation well above pub grub, great price, good service, nice cozy booth - and bang! Destroyed by pokies and the incessant noise of those infernal machines. The Whitlams were right...

Staff were lovely and helpful. Food was great value for money with huge portions, I ended up having to take half the parmi home. Bistro was a little noisy but that’s unavoidable in a family restaurant.

Solo traveller on business. - I do have to say the meal was average. The special was grilled barramundi with mash. Not especially well presented or tasty. When I’ve bought frozen fish meal from Coles it’s looked more appetising and been more tasty. Back to Coles next time.
(Mind you Star has been good on my previous visits. Just not this time.)

My family and I arrived in Sale Easter Saturday so without a booking we tried our luck at the Star. Despite being booked out, the Manager Jeremy found a spot for the 4 of us in the dining room. It was a limited menu due to the public holiday but the food was delicious, prompt and above all friendly. I was recommended a drink on tap from the staff and was really impressed. Exactly what my family needed after a long trip. Thanks for your hospitality.

Just superb. Been here a few times and never disappoints. Steak was perfect, staff just awesome and the atmosphere and quality is great for a regional area. Can't wait for my next visit.

Great food the chicken avocado was delicious and the beef cheeks were excellent. Started with the pork dumplings and ended up having 2 serves!!!

Fantastic experience, I took my young family for dinner with friends. Amazing play area for the kids with glass walls to keep an eye on them. Food was excellent, had a slow cooked lamb special that was incredible and well-priced. Very friendly and professional staff.

Dinner with my wife. We had the beef cheeks from the seniors menu and they were delicious. I followed with the churros which we ended up sharing. Food and service were excellent as was the Coonawarra Cab Sav we selected.

Cannot fault this venue! We love that the kids can have lots of fun in the play room, meals are quick even when busy, you get great deals as a member and staff always have the biggest smiles and ensure you have the best experience. Thanks Jeremy and Tori for creating such a beautiful environment for the locals to enjoy!
We even had a party recently and it was so easy to organise, staff were friendly which helped the night be enjoyable!

Absolutely Delicious. Good portion for a fair price. Chicken Parma was great and chicken schnitzel was awesome with seafood sauce on it. Had the best cheesecake in the town. Atmosphere was amazing with a friendly staff. Highly recommended
