Your greeted with a very glamorous interior when you enter in with the perfect set lighting for both eating but general dinning. Plenty of seating but do advise the closer to the kids play area the louder it will get. There is outdoor seating as well if you desire fresh air. Adult games area is well kept away from addictive eyes but if you have that problem you will find it no problems. Steam punk look with the bars which are well attended to by staff. Amazing kid area, no need to helicopter parent as they will be fine. The menu is well defined with a great but also not over whelming selection to chose from. Plate sizes could feed an army but wow oh wow is it delicious. Apart from the noise enjoy your meals, definitely worth it.

What a great place to eat, the food was absolutely delicious,the staff were very friendly and professional. The service was excellent and the presentation of the meals was excellent. Thanks to the chef. Our meals were out with very little waiting time. And best of all, they cater for allergies. The gluten-free flathead was the best I've had anywhere, and I've been to a lot of places. Thanks to everyone, what a lovely place to eat. I'm sure we will be back again sometime.🙂🙂👍

We had lunch here today, l had the battered fish and salad it was absolutely delicious.
My husband had the Lamb Shank which was beautiful cooked, unfortunately the vegetables where very hard and he had difficulty even gutting the with his knife. It just a suggestion that the vegetables should had been cooked slightly longer. Overall the meals where delicious and the service was excellent.

We had a really good lunch here during Melb Cup day. Food was tasty and service was great. Friendly staff and a nice indoor play area for kids to have fun. We will be back. ☺️

Visited last night 1 June and I was blown away with the great service and the food was amazing. All our meals were cooked to perfection. From the salmon, to
Porterhouse steak , risotto and Parma . Staff were all super friendly and amazing .

This place is expansive and is ver good for hosting big groups. Has a good big play area for kids too.
We had our nieces birthday party here and went with 6 families. They reserved a table for us.
The food was beautifully presented, generous portions and really tasty.
The service was prompt.
The only thing I didn’t appreciate was that most of the servers (not all) looked unhappy and rushed. They didn’t bother to smile. They asked us to pass on the glasses when they were clearing up while we were leaving.
Other than that would definitely go there again.

The chef should be fired. I am a big fan of pub meals but this was absolutely disgusting. The steak was burnt on the outside especially around the side leaving nothing but that taste throughout my mouth. Asked for medium rare and was medium well done. Chips were flavourless and salad didn't feel crisp more so that it had been left out for 6 hours out of the fridge. Gravy had no flavour and was barely warm.
I had to dip my steak into it in order for me to digest this meal.
As I have now moved recently and this would of been my local can safely say I will never be back. FIRE YOUR HEAD CHEF he doesn't have any passion.
Missus Gnocci was terrible too.
Also I believe that no waiter wanted to come to pick up our plates as I believe they could see me visibly disappointed.
82 dollars is a rip can cook a thousand times better at home. How can you be proud of the bistro.

Really enjoyed dinner tonight. Havent been for many years . Great renovations with the addition of a kids play room.

Plenty of options for different tastes, and generous servings. Very easy to share meals. I particularly enjoyed the salmon and chat potatoes with romesco sauce. Modern pub food with classics and more fancy options. Nice dining room with plants and soft lighting.
Big dessert selection too if you're into that.

One person had the pie, the meat was tough. One had the burger the steak was very rare and tough and the bacon was under cooked. One had the chicken Caesar salad, the chicken was overcooked and dry. One had the chicken Parma and said it tasted disgusting. I wouldn’t recommend the food. It was over priced . Won’t go back there. It also pissed me off that there is no seniors meal on the weekend.

Nice bistro for a pub type meal. Ample seating, reservation not required. Menu has a variety of great dishes and serving size large. Service great and attentive. Outdoor area is an added bonus.

My stepfather and I have now had many delicious lunches and desserts at Sugargum. Yes we pick from the Seniors menu and it's certainly a full plate. Staff, young girls always smile and accommodate us with any extra condiments.. Great Value and delicious food.

My family and I visited the Sugar Gum Hotel for an afternoon drink + snack.
We ordered some duck spring rolls, chips and mac + cheese croquettes and drinks, all of which were delicious.
Highly recommend.

Love this place to eat and take the Grandchildren as they love the play centre keeps them entertained for hours

Just wanted to shout out to Pili for her excellent customer service this evening. We held our netball presentation at sugar gum hotel and Pili was amazing. Her hospitality was amazing. The food was delicious.
Thank you to all the staff. Nothing was a bother.

It’s very loud. Had the corner room with the booths so it was heaps better in there. Our host Kelly was so sweet.

I am a regular customer of this hotel and have a lunch meal once a week.
Up to a couple of weeks ago, the food had been great...my allergies to garlic, onion and mushroom had been addressed after I ordered by meal. Lately mistakes have been made, and I've had to return the meal
for a replacement. Today I had my lunch and told the lady server of my allergies and made sure she keyed them in. The cook unfortunately put in the mushroom ( when upsets my stomach big time) in my meal inspite of the server keying in "no mushroom". I had to tell the server who returned the meal for a replacement without mushroom. It was taking a long time so I went to the counter and saw the very overweight cook running around and I tried to tell him of my allergy to
mushroom...He rudely waved me
aside and I didn't have a chance to say anything...He just wasn't interested...The second meal arrived without the mushroom, but he forgot to put in the chicken, which I paid for, since it was a chicken
risotto ..without mushroom, garlic and onion, the 3 ingredients I'm allergic. I told the server about not receiving the chicken, which I ordered and she apologised again..
I was feeling rather hungry so I ate it and didn't send the meal back again.
I feel the owner should know about that cook who did not concentrate on what he was cooking...and his manner and attitude could have been much better..

I am a frequent customer of SG and have on occasion complained about the service. Today, I was there, placed a bet and within 10 minutes wanted to cancel my bet. Event us was approximately many hours away. Was told by a rude manager that I could not and it was my bad luck. The tall well mannered worker was was amazing as he is always.
It is not acceptable on behalf of Tab and SG Hotel.
Manager needs to be replaced

Have eaten here twice now and both times have been fantastic experiences. Have had the fish and chips and now the Tuscan Chicken. Both well made and tasty. The staff on both occasions were fast friendly and attentive. highly recommend!

Had the pleasure of dining here tonight.
It has been a regular spot of mine since I've moved to the area 14 years ago.
Was very excited to see the new fitout, unfortunately with the opening being so busy then covid19 we never got the opportunity.
Lucky tonight we got a booking and got to see the new Set Up and taste the new menu.
Love the new fitout, so fresh and vibrant.
The meals we ordered was delicious and perfect service.
Well done team, especially in COVID19 times

Had dinner here in a large group, 2 people ordered fish and it wasn’t right and when we let the manager know he didn’t really want to know about it. Told us he would check with the chef who said there was nothing wrong and we just didn’t like it. Offered a free drink. Overall had a terrible attitude about it, didn’t have the power to give any money back for food we couldn’t eat apparently. Would not return or recommend to anyone.

Great place for families and friends. The food was delicious, and the portions size is good as well. Staff are very friendly. The only issue is the cleaning, must be much better or to be well taking care of it, lot of food on the carpet, tables are little sticky and the menus was not that clean.

Great improvement since the refurbishment. Priced well to the quality and taste. Would visit again. Service was a bit slow to order but quick to get food.

Celebrated mums birthday in a semi private room. Great food , great service by staff to all 19 of us. Great work by Jenny coordinating all , food & cake. Atmosphere great .

Came here 2 days in a row once stage 4 covid lockdown was eased, once with the boys, and once with family.. still with 20ppl indoor restrictions. Sugar Gum had excellent accommodating staff despite the restrictions. The meals are well sized and good value. The venue looks great and I only wish the restrictions would have allowed us to explore it a bit more. The place is spotless clean and the staff are professional and friendly. Definitely would dine here again.

Atmosphere was great. A little noisy but it was Mother’s Day. Had a real family vibe. The service from staff was very good. A smile and very attentive.

Accommodating and friendly staff, exceptional service, especially Jerome. Generous quantity and great quality of food. Lovely and cozy place to hang out. Love eating at Sugar Gum. Can't fault anything!!!
