Works Xmas party held down stairs, due to the weather 🌧️ we kept undercover and staff shifted our allocated tables to accomodate this, great atmosphere, good food. Only downside was some weird bar rules - unsure if universal amongst all clubs of only being allowed to order one drink per order, and bar closed a bit early for a December Saturday night. Otherwise great venue.

Without a doubt the most inconsistency poor performing bistro around. When they are busy they tell you they stuffed your order up because they are busy. When its a quiet night and totally forget a meal the staff shrug theirs shoulders and one person at the table just misses out on a meal. It's just not good enough yet management keeps allowing it to happen. The place is a joke!!

We've been here several times before and it was always a lottery as to how it would go. The last few times confirms that Il Lago @ The Tavern is getting its Mojo. Menu had Pub staples, but there was plenty of other choices reflecting the Il Lago's ambition, which we will try next time.
The meals are huge, so bring a Teenagers Appetite or order appropriately. We had the Focaccia to start (more of those green olives Please!) and our mains were the Chicken Involtini and the Veal Scallopini. Everything was well cooked, great tasting and arrived nice and hot. The young staff were willing and efficient.
Beer from the bar was cold and the Wine List, whilst small was well matched and reasonably priced.
The only downside on the night we went was that the windows on the Verandah, being open let a few more flies in that was comfortable and the ambient music was a bit too loud - I like AC/DC but don't want to eat a meal feeling like I'm at their concert.
These are minor issues.
We'll be back. Without doubt.

We hired the downstairs function room for my husband's 40th birthday. The set up is great for entertaining, there's plenty of room for kids, and all our guests felt very welcome. There were lots of positive comments on the food, it was delicious! The staff were helpful and friendly. Overall, we all had a great night and highly recommend Il Lago for any event. We'll definitely be back!

We have been having our family get together here once a fortnight and the service is always great , fast with the food , tastes delicious and lovely staff and a beautiful atmosphere. I would recommend you book if you have a large gathering and the shed is perfect with the beautiful views . We plan to bring our grandsons here when they stay in the school holidays as there is a lot for the kids to do here .

We celebrated our mum, grandmothers 80th birthday. She just wanted a family day. The staff were lovely and all the food was good and served efficiently for a large group. Will definitely be going here again.

The Tavern at the Links Shell Cove surpassed our expectations. They made celebrating a 70th birthday so easy and enjoyable. The food was amazing, and the staff were accommodating to all our needs. Would not hesitate to book another function with them.

The staff, food and atmosphere of the Links was beautiful.
We had our whole family there for a birthday and everything was amazing!

The food was nice, but not amazing. I had the chicken schnitzel which was under seasoned and far too much for one person. My husband had pork ribs which he enjoyed, but again far too much for one person. Overall, we felt that the food was expensive for the quality. Reducing the portion size and cost, and tweaking the quality is needed.
The venue has nice views but lacks atmosphere. Good for large groups, but we won't return as a couple.

The food was delicious the menu had a great range I could of ordered so much more the staff were lovely I will def be coming back here as a regular place to eat out I had the beef salad which not only looked amazing tested amazing .

Such a beautiful setting on the Links Golf course. Great food, vibes are high, staff are so friendly and helpful and all spaces are styled amazingly ! Thankyou so much to the crew at the Tavern for hosting us and our Wollongong Emergency Department nurses for our education event :)

Stunning views looking out to green mountains.
The food was good, but maybe could’ve been slightly better for the price, a solid 7.5/10. But the girls there were beautiful with their service, so it was a pretty good experience overall

Staff were veryy freindly and helpful and the food was very good. A lovely place to sit outside in the shade, but we did find it a bit warm (it was a very hot and humid day) upstairs with no access to the fans / open windows.

Recently celebrated a friend's anniversary with a wonderful lunch and a few drinks. This was our 2nd visit and will definitely be back.

I was disappointed with my meal . I ordered the steak burger without the bun $24. The menu said a scotch fillet; it was a very thinly sliced piece of steak. While I didn't expect a whole scotch fillet, what I got was not good value. I also ordered a veal scallopine for a friend; it was excellent. She loved it.
I have been going to the Links since it first opened and have eaten there on a regular basis. I feel the prices are getting too expensive. Blackboard specials are quite prohibitive.

I recently attended my Son’s wedding,which was formal attire on Thursday 22/02/24.It should have been a momentous occasion for everyone.However,the heat inside was unbearable,the temperature outside was in the 30’s with extremely high humidity.We were hoping once we were inside it would be cooler and more comfortable,not so.The ceremony itself was lovely and very emotional with a backdrop of the course and surroundings.The couple’s 2 children,my grandson aged 12 and my 2 year old granddaughter who were in the bridal party,suffered most from the heat and had to be taken home early by their maternal Nana as my grandson is asthmatic and having difficulty breathing.When we inquired many times to the bar staff if the aircon was on they said it was,”it’s always like this,”there were no fans on either.The 2 women who bought out the food on large platters were never seen again.No one came to clear away empty plates or glasses that were piling up,there was a lot of food untouched,and was covered in flies because the balcony doors were opened by guests,in an attempt to get cool,somehow.I’m elderly as well as some family members,and our special day for our adult children was marred by uninterested staff.I would never recommend this place to anyone,a waste of money and a huge disappointment.

Il Lago offers a gorgeous outlook over the golf course and the escarpment beyond through oversized windows, which alone makes the dining experience worthwhile. And the food doesn’t let the outlook down with interesting and tasty options on the menu. The welcoming and engaging attitude from the staff completes a very appealing package.

Hosted a baby shower event in the lounge area.
Was great size for the amount of people we had, the food was great and the live music was also very great.

Had my wife’s 40th at the links shell cove tavern. The staff and food were amazing. Highly recommend for anyone thinking of having a function

Had a wonderful enjoyable family birthday lunch there on Sunday. The food was great and the friendly helpful staff were exceptional. Always happy to go back there.

Excellent meals…. Highly recommend. Loved the pork belly Salad and my husband’s favourite is the ribs, always!!! Everyone in the group commented on the amazing food. So good! Easy access for elderly people and walkers too. My father-in-law loved the views! Thankyou Ill Lago for providing high end meals!

Enjoyed Mother's day lunch, great for a big booking, we had 9 with 5 kids under 9. Food was quick and delicious, great place to take the family.

Cheese Burgers taste good. I saw the someone’s else steak sandwich and love it. Next time i will go for that. Everything was good, friendly staff and it was so nice and clean. They might need a menu with foods pictures.

booked a table of 12, we have been there a number of times before, not many people there this time, my dish Baramundi $34, was a disgrace, tough / overcooked / very thin asparagras old, other guests complained about the quality of the food as well. Take a lot to get us back again, ( we are all locals) .( mon 8th)

Apart from being very difficult to find a car park here the atmosphere inside is excellent, so too the service. The food however was disappointing to say the least. The beef brisket salad was tasteless. While the barramundi was excellent the tomato relish smoothing the fish detracting from the overall meal.

All staff friendly and prompt. I understand first session diners may linger making it difficult for staff to tidy up, however, food begun to arrive with cutlery available having to to ask at the food counter for more cutlery. My youngest grandson’s pizza did not arrive with all other meals, suggest it may have been forgotten. Took some time to receive this meal. Given meal ordering is computerised fail to understand why it was missed. Just to confirm again all staff were friendly and helpful will definitely come again. 👍

All our meals were delicious, presented beautifully. Service at the counter was very friendly and nice, girls doing a great job.
Compliments to the chef, a very good range of meals. Didn’t have pizza but they looked amazing.
