You know, I want to give it a higher rating, but I can't. I like The Tradies, I do. The staff are lovely, the atmosphere is comfy, drinks are cheap-ish and facilities are great, including parking. It could've been so much better. One of our family member's meals, which was ordered and paid for, disappeared. My seafood basket, $32 worth, was all from the freezer, I don't recommend it. Lastly, a steak order was delivered to our table that seemed like ours, but, in the end, it wasn't confusing everyone! Anyway, despite all this, we'll go back. They've been better in the past. I'll give them another chance.

We were given vouchers to have breakfast here by the hotel. It was extremely busy on Wednesday morning with just 2 ladies taking orders, making drinks and delivering food as well. We received our drinks pretty quickly but then waited over an hour for our breakfast, even watching other people who came in after us get their food. While I commend the 2 ladies working tirelessly to serve everyone this is a management problem that they need to fix. When the time went on we watched other staff come and go but no one offered any help. Nothing else in Tradies was open so what were they doing? Eventually we asked about our breakfast and only after asking 2 more times were we told it's coming. No apologies, nothing. Drinks well and truly finished, our breakfast arrived barely warm. My advice, don't eat here and definitely have breakfast somewhere else. Hats off to the 2 hard working ladies but management needs to step up or move on.

We have not been for dinner for quite a while to the Tradies, Essence Restaurant is very pricey. I personally was disappointed in the standard of food. My husband steak and prawns was OK but his comment was I can cook better! I had the Twice cooked Pork, such a small serve and high price, snow peas, 3 leaves of buck choy, boiled rice and two piece of pork, $33.00. We will try lunch next time to see if we find it more to our liking. Staff were excellent.

Very very surprising
Meals were incredible
We had a big group and everything was perfect
Just didn't get all our meals at the same time but they were delicious.

Very chill environment and very pleasant staff regardless of what time you go there. The place is clean and well setup, complimentary free drinks at the pokies area, pretty neat.

This is a local to me. I love the options on everyday.. For food deals Sunday To Thursday..
Happy Hour from 5pm till 6pm Mon - Friday..
Pokies here. With Sports Bar and a Wine Bar.. With 3 Outdoor Garden bars. Tab Area in Same Area as Sports bar.. Have a Cafe Opens 10am till 2am.. And Restaurant Opens 12-3pm.. And Dinner 6pm till 930pm.. Its a must sign up So you collect points everytime you purchase a beverage or meal. Also when you build the points up. Can use it to double your points on certain days. But when you are low on coin. Use points to pay for staff at the tradies.

The place is just odd, all lounge seating, no proper sports bar with high tables and no one under 50. Pity because this place could fill a void in Dickson for a decent pub/bar but they’re too focused on their pokies revenue to bother with anything else.

Staff are very friendly and helpful. Our meals were beautiful and good price range. Good prices for drinks and undercover parking a bonus

Service is great, everyone is smiling and courteous. Large size portions, great value for money! Really enjoyed our meals. Hubby's only remark too much sauce on the pasta - but more of a personal preference. Thankyou 😊

RSL club in Dickson, Canberra, ACT
Food is good value for money and friendly and efficient service. Order from the bar but food does get delivered to your table.
Plenty of parking the restaurant is separate from the sport bar and the gambling area’s.

Nice place to spend the afternoon, food was good, bar had good beers on tap and the staff were friendly. Lots of amenities and the out door areas are big.

Nice little joint, a few pool tables, pool comp on Sundays few big screens , bistro, good atmosphere

Lamb Shanks. Danny (the Head Chef), is the best! No need for a knife - the meat just drags off the bone. And the gravy - WOW!

I’ve been to a lot of pubs ,clubs & bars , in my time , have also worked as security in various venues! Arriving from Sydney
It was my first time visiting Canberra , my friend took me to the tradies club .
Was greeted by the gentleman who runs this establishment single handed,
“JP” head of security!
This guy is the best example of how a security guard /doorman is meant to be !
What a good bloke he is !
When you have a pro like this bloke as security, then you have a venue that is relaxed with a positive atmosphere that you want to return to again!

If ever I come back to Canberra I will definitely pop into the tradies club .
And to all the wana be doorman out there , take note , this is how it’s done !
Security is exactly that !

It was very quiet on the day we went. The staff were all very friendly and very helpful. The food didn't take long to come out and it was very enjoyable. The only problem is they don't give you enough sauce

It's a very nice place to stay. Lovely large rooms. Friendly, welcoming staff on each return. Handy to some good little eateries.

I haven't bought a pie at a club before but i was definitely disappointed and won't do so ever again. $21 for mince meat and mashed potato.
Other than that, the place is nice and an acceptable range of beer on tap. The schnitzel is also pretty big and juicy.
Would go again, would not get "pie".

I got kicked out because I burnt a $50 note. It's nobodies business what I want to do with my money. Also, the machines are rigged and set to lose. Don't gamble here. I know machines and how they function. These are set to stop anyone from winning anything big. They filter their money through these machines. It's a big scam. Customer service was less than average.

I don't recommend. You will face bad experience. You are not play games they’ll play games with you. Money is yours now up to you. They already start collecting money from poker machines. Be careful who play poker.3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8& 9/7/2024 also be careful Friday and Saturday night.

HUGE club, could get lost inside the pokie area, staff are all welcoming , drinks a little over priced and have not had a meal yet but seems to draw a decent crowd.

Great Sirloin Stake cooked perfectly well done with vegetables and chips
Joined the Tradies Club Great value 3 years for $6.00 a special they have at the moment friendly staff

Great place for a beer or wine and to kick back and watch the footy. Nice selections available. Nice pokie area if that’s what your into. Special thanks to Max behind the bar

Great atmosphere, nice & clean areas friendly staff , unfortunately the bistro was closed when we arrived so we had a meal from the Cafe was lovely and tasty 😋

Food is avarage, maybe slightly above avarage. The pricing was not good for what you got but still better than most pubs in the local area. However the staff forgot one of the my tables orders. So 1 of my guests did not eat food with the rest of us. They waited 20min after everyone else's food was brought in before asking staff for an update. Staff responded thiers was the next order. Another 20min passed so I decided to go on thier behalf. It turned into about another 10min argument with staff explaining they could not do a refund and/or just serve us the food. The manager was called and the issue was rectified with the food and refund but no further compensation. Also the staffed lied to us. Stating the food was on its way twice however after speaking with the manager it was made clear that the order was forgotten. All and all one of my guests had to sit and eat 40-50min after everyone else had finished and waste our night. Overall I do not recommend since the staff has poor English skills and waiting abilities.

Been to Tradies twice in a few years apart. Loved it both times. Feels like home. I don’t know when I’ll be back, but I hope it’s soon.

Been good few years since i been here its changed so much i couldnt find my way around anymore.. I enjoyed my steak cooked medium was yummy with dianne sauce chips were good.. atmosphere was good drinks good overall i enjoyed it.. had friends staying at hotel they liked the connectivity to the hotel and restaurant and the parking..

Amazed by how delicious the food were. I had roast of the day which cost me 12 dollars, for a big serve!
We also had chicken schnitzel(huge) , steak, steak was beautifully made!
We'll certainly come back to try more food😁
