Would give zero for the rudest bar staff (woman) that Ive ever had serving me. As soon as I entered she was cold and abrupt. Sorry for interrupting your busy afternoon of serving one other customer. Went there for a few beers, but got attitude when asked about happy hour timings and beer prices. Paid over the advertised happy hour price as well. One beer and I’m out. Would have stayed for a while, but not now or ever. Shame, as it looked like a nice place for a quiet ale on a Wednesday afternoon.

We went there two days ago for my birthday, we won't be back. No water at water station for my 3yr old so had to line up, which was so long, only 1 bar open. I ordered the special fish with chat potatoes and salad $33. Came with chips, asked where were chat potatoes, told "we haven't had chat potatoes for ages", which I replied, was on your specials board and suggested they change it. Fish was dry, my husbands schnitzel was overcooked and dry. They had run out of Rose' . Would not recommend this place. Had been before when Potters Brewery and was very happy with everything. Avoid 😡

We reserved 2 tables in advance for our group of 28 people for a work function and yet the staff seemed surprised about our arrival….they did not handle the pressure of 28 people. Not enough staff on. Rude attitude. Made us feel like we were inconveniencing them by being there. Very poorly organised and poor customer service.

Well, this was a sad return to what I had remembered as a wonderful place to eat. Stale buns, and people smoking in the non-smoking area right outside the door to go to the Kids playing area unfortunately two stars at best.

Weird place. I wanted to watch the Australian Open final. Staff said they’re not allowed to change the channel, even though I was sitting in a room by myself with 50 empty seats. Refused to have the tennis on any of the 12+ TVs, even in the betting section. So I sat there with two TVs showing England vs India. Bizarre.

Very disappointed. Tables were dirty, hardly any staff around. Beers unavailable due to fault in the gas line. No alternative drinks available other than a very limited wine list or spirits. Hardly anything on the food menu, no specials and all round very poor. Bring back The Mighty, the change in owners/management has ruined what we’ve known to be a great venue. Won’t be coming back anytime soon.

Unfortunately they did not have enough staff on. A 45min wait for mains to be served. The wombok ramen salad looked like a salad pack from Woolies, including the crunchy noodles ... not sure where the ramen was.

Told meals would be 40-60 minutes. Still had not started after 80 minutes. Friends who ordered with us got theirs in 50 minutes and several groups got theirs who ordered after us. We didn’t order anything special burger, schnitzel and a kids pasta with garlic bread, which we’re going out before ours. When approached I was told it won’t be long and then the chef said he had not even started it.

The tables were all filthy. So many flies as a result. The food was nice, but mostly came out cold. The steak we ordered was supposed to be Med/Rare but came Rare. Thai salad was a bit flavourless, but otherwise fresh. We visited on a Wednesday and you guys were pretty understaffed. The wait for drinks the whole time we were there, was a joke.

The Beef Brisket burger was absolutely disgusting... 50% fat and 50% dry slabs of meat. The brisket that was supposedly cooked in a 'dark ale sauce' was just dry meat in the sandwich will a small dollop of this sauce on top. The only other ingredient in this burger was just a plain coleslaw mix from coles or woolies, absolutely dry, not mixed into sort of sauce or how you think coleslaw would actually be served. Worst meal I have had in a long time, stay away from the food here.

The accomodation is fantastic ,clean, spacioua, lots of parking with tennis courts and a pool also very quiet but the best bit is the brew house , Abby our host was very welcoming and poured a great beer. She pointed out that they have live music on a weekend which was a bonus . We ate at the brewhouse several times, the menu is great with lots of variety. The Barramundi in particular was fresh and very tasty. A great place to stay for a quiet weekend when visiting the wineries. Well done Abby and the team

Stopped off here for lunch on the way to the Hunter and was pleasantly surprised by the food and drinks. The Valley IPA was delightful with a vibrant fruity note. The Chicken Schnitzel/Parmigiana was plump and the chips perfectly cooked. We also ordered the fish and chips that was well battered and included a fresh side salad.

Slightly disappointing, my partner and I came to Hunter region for a mini vacation and seeing this brew house on the way from the road it looks so beautiful being outdoors and indoors. The place was short staffed we waited in line for about 30mins to order, the satay chicken is a big NO looked like boiled chicken with some peanut sauce and the dish was all full of water. We ended up throwing this. The variety of drinks is okay but a little overpriced for the condition of this brew house. We had ordered a parmi schnitty which at least was really good and cooked golden as well as the chips that it came with, quantity was good too. I wouldn’t come here again though.

Quick service. Great beer. The Vanilla Porter alone is worth the trip. Best Mexican Schnitzel. I will definitely recommend. Dog friendly a plus

One of the worst pub experiences I have ever had. We were a large group coming to eat and soak up the atmosphere on New Year’s Eve. I ordered the New York cut steak and asked for it to be cooked medium rare. I received my steak close to well done. I am not one to take food back, but considering how tough and over cooked it was, I thought to ask in a nice way. The waitress took the food to the kitchen and swiftly returned it to me stating the chef will not accept it and says it’s cooked medium rare. I was too embarrassed to ask again so suffered through the meal which was god damn awful. We also had 2 friends who had the Mexicana schnitzel and garlic prawn steak who both were immediately unwell and vomited their meals up. Additionally, a friend at our table had a small medical emergency and was accompanied by her boyfriend to the bathroom. They were in the bathroom for less than 5 minutes and were approached by the same waitress who insinuated they had been promiscuous. They were incredibly embarrassed and a number of local diners were laughing at them. I would not recommend this restaurant to my worst enemy. Do yourself a favour and eat anywhere else.

I’m not sure why the negative reviews as today, nervously, we had lunch - and it was great! We had steaks and hamburgers and it was all delicious. Wait time was fine. Dis have a couple (two) of house flys buzzing around but that can happen anywhere. I’m not sure if it was just a quiet day but really the only thing missing was a bit more atmosphere (room with the fire would have been the place to sit in hindsight) and a bit of coordination around food and drink ordering - not sure why they have to be done at separate stations. Otherwise - great!

I do not understand the staff. I asked a simple question, like “do you have Australian whiskey?” She was just about to bite my head off. The staff here had no, absolutely no idea how to treat customers. Won’t be coming back here despite the beautiful location. To the owner, I totally understand it hard to get and train staff but this business has so much potential and I truly think it’s worth more than 3.8 review.

I came here on our tour and had a sampling of beers. The beers were great, especially the ginger and the pilsner. Ordered more, including the only stout I've ever liked. Staff friendly, even gave me one on the house. Will definitely go back sometime to drink more beers!

House white wine was nice, service was fine. Steak was terrible, dry and Overcooked and no seasoning. Wedges weren’t good only edible if eaten with aioli. Vegetables smothered in oil. Never come here.

Don't listen to these bogus 1 star reviews. This place is full of friendly, helpful and knowledgeable people. The beer is delicious and the food is great too. The salt and pepper calamari was so tender and delicious, and their beer selection is varied and I didn't have a single bad beer between two separate flights. Not to mention: there is a full play place for children and a large array of picknick tables with huge umbrellas right next to it. You can even hear music while you sit out there. Truly a fantastic location and a joy all around.

Chicken Schnitzel is perfectly cooked. Could say the best I’ve ever had. I read a couple of reviews saying the chicken schnitzel was cooked well. This was so spot on that I’m doing what I almost never do and leaving a review. I hope whoever cooked it knows their skill. Many things in life will disappoint you, so it’s nice to get excited by something as small as a good schnitty!

Came in for dinner last night, 14/01, absolutely disgusting experience. Kitchen is completely so un-flexible, staff are utterly appalling. I'd never tell people to steer clear of a pub but save your time and dignity. Never go there. Needs a complete change of staff, all have no aspirations in life dull selfish people. Not a single staff member that was accommodating. Owners need to realise what they're owning and change it. They don't have any returning customers and its evident as to why.

Booked for Sunday afternoon, checked the website which said there was a bar food menu available between lunch and Dinner services. We were going to celebrate a birthday with drinks and a catch up so bar food as listed on the menu was going to be fine. I booked through the online booking for the bistro for 9 people, which was confirmed. When we arrived I had to approach a staff member to say that we were there and his response was that he had no idea where we were meant to sit. He also said that the kitchen was closed. I advised him that there was no notification of this in the website or their Facebook page and that I had booked online. He really couldn't have cared less. Needless to say we rang The Australia Hotel in Cessnock, went there and had a wonderful afternoon drinking and eating. My advice for anyone is to bypass this venue and go elsewhere.

An hour and a half wait, constant defensiveness from staff rather than letting us know when things are coming out, other people got their order ahead of us. Didn’t happen at the mighty when foghorn owned it
