We wanted a comfortable place to have dinner after 2 long days of driving. And this place was perfect! Amazingly priced meals! Great hearty meals! Plenty of food and drink variety and super friendly staff. Couldn't believe how quick the food came out too, the place was packed! Highly recommend this place for everyone and especially travellers. Thank you for a wonderful night

Went there with my partner for dinner, the atmosphere is really nice and busy. The fireplace was definitely a nice touch! The drinks were delicious, although I didn’t like creamy my pumpkin ravioli, the cream was too heavy and I couldn’t taste anything else. But my partner had the chicken Parma and really liked it. It’s my fault I should’ve ordered something a bit more pub-y :)

Went here for dinner Thursday 11th April. Food was nice and decent portion sizes and staff were friendly enough. Only downside was we waited almost 45 minutes for our food. Thanks Whalers!

We haven't been to The Whalers Hotel for 20yrs. We had a beautiful meal. Service was timely and it certainly had the vibe of the place to be. We wont wait so long next time!

We are new to the area and my Husband and I came here for dinner and as we are both Vegans we asked if the Chef could make us a Vegan meal, we were absolutely delighted with the effort and the size of the meal. Not only were we happy but our non Vegan friends at our table were jealous of how good it looked as was the waitress!
We went back for lunch today and ordered it again and this time it was on the menu 🙏 and once again we were delighted!

Travelling throughout the south east of Australia and the meal at The Whalers was the best we experienced. A very enjoyable experience … food and service. Thank you!

This pub was one of a very few places open on a Monday night, mayne that's why it was very busy.
The service was friendly, the food was OK, I had the pork roast from the specials board and though it was cooked well and everything was tasty, the pork was cut along the grain which as you will know makes it a bit chewy, so not a fan.
The price was reasonable considering the tuff pork.

They have given us the best seafood pasta and medium rare steak. Everything was good considering that we were there at 8:30 pm and the kitchen was closing at 9:00 pm. One of the staff that I have observed was very efficient and was smiling a lot to the customers and guests. Definitely a go-to place and a gem in Warnambool.

The meal was OK, but eye filet medallions were not great. First time at your hotel and was not told to order meals at the bar, but worked it out waiting for some time. The staff in general were young and inexperienced. The young man behind the bar had no idea about drink service. If you tell someone that the tonic water you were served was flat you would expect a new drink not a sorry and walk off. Great location and good atmosphere perhaps some more experience behind the bar would increase the rating.

Really enjoyed my chicken Parma. My mate had a roast of the day and I had food envy. Two top meals. Friendly and helpful staff. Quick service. Cold beer. I'll be back.

Possibly the nicest meal I've ever eater. Was busy but meals still came quite quick. Perfect spot for dinner before heading to the show at The Lighthouse Theatre.

Portland Gummy was fresh and delicious. The calamari was also a great choice. Meals came out in no time. Kids schnitzel and thick cut chips were a generous serve and cooked to perfection.

Nice food and good value considering the portions. Like the ability to order from an app on your table and the atmosphere was thematic and a little old school. The used to be THE place in the early 90s so it was nice to come back for a visit and still see it going strong.

Mum and I are out of towners in Warrnambool for the weekend and came to The Whalers Hotel for dinner. Mum ordered the roast beef and enjoyed it. I was really looking forward to the seafood linguini after seeing it on the website but learnt it had been replaced by the seafood risotto so I ordered that instead. Unfortunately it was a little disappointing. Way too much lemon in it and it seemed a bit watery.
The service was fantastic and the atmosphere was very comfortable. The other meals that people were ordering looked delicious but was just a little let down by the risotto.

Great meal and hospitality here. Enjoyed the roast of the day and a Wagyu steak sandwich. Staff were friendly and welcoming.

Fabulous place! The food was sensational and full of flavour. The seafood linguine was amazing! We also loved the prawns with chilli, garlic & paprika. Very impressed with the service and atmosphere too. Highly recommend.

Excellent meal here, with spot on service and a great ambience in this lovely coastal city.
The steak was great, and my colleague had the surf n turf and also could not speak highly enough of it.
A great range of beers and wines as well.

Cool pub in central location with yummy meals! Extensive cocktail menu and heaps of beers on tap.. Only criticism is that the bistro kitchen closes at 8pm, a bit early on those summer nights.

Can't go wrong with the pub meals at this location. The last time we were in Warrnambool was more than 10 years ago when previous owners owned the hotel and the meals were delicious.
Now, we are here again in 2024, new owners, new layout.
Food is just as good (if not better!), service was very fast.
Stop by here for lunch if you are traveling into or through Warrnambool. Can't go wrong!
I had the Rib Eye, cooked to my liking.
Wife had the gummy flake, asked for pan fried and got that no issues.
Kids pizza was good too, I could tell, they are every bit.

Beautiful the char slow cooked lamb and the prawn risotto were divine well worth the money mine looked a lot better before I started eating it lol

A lovely old pub in the heart of Warrnambool. Decor is stylish yet retaining the old world charm of former days.
Staff are very friendly and helpful, and the menu offers a great range of food options.
Our meals were generous, tasty and very well presented. Visited twice in our brief stay in Warrnambool.

After getting recommended to try the steak from the bar staff I ordered the ‘ hanger steak ‘ it was literally like eating rubber.
My partner had the chicken para she decided to pick a ‘ safe ‘ option
And she forced it down and said was worse one she had her whole life.
