We were travelling by light aircraft and advised during our booking that we may not be able to stick to 24-hour notice of cancellation policy. It's not a problem, and it noted on our booking. We were met by very smiling staff on our late arrival and welcomed as adventures. Our room was exactly what we ordered and paid for. Basic room and bathroom. We were both very happy with the only negative being the noise from the floor boards every time someone was walking A fantastic and ver welcome beer to celebrate 🥳 arriving in Tasmania. The evening meal was also very welcome. It should be noted the restaurant is only open for the evening meal so it's a short walk to one of the breakfast restaurants. The staff went out of their way to supply any help

Went for dinner this evening and it was the worst meal I’ve had for a very long time. I ordered a Bbq bacon burger which came after an hour with no bacon and the bun felt like a sponge. My daughter had a Chicker Parmi which was still raw in the middle. My son in law had Carbonara in which he found a chip in the sauce. My wife supposedly had Scotch Fillet Steak (medium) which almost turned to dust when she stuck her in. If you want a decent meal avoid this place like the plague.

Went for dinner there. I do not recommend the garlic prawns. Sauce was average, no garlic in it and my prawns were Luke warm at best and cold as well. My husband had the seafood fettuccine and was laced with so much capsicum. All you could taste was capsicum. No mention of capsicum in the dish on the menu. Overall not impressed and not value for money. $84 spent.

We hadn't booked but there were plenty of tables. 3 ordered the Sunday roast special and 1 ordered Fish Chips & salad. Waited 1 & 1/2 hrs watched while 3 others customers sent their roast back as it was cold. Finally after a trip to the counter the fish meal was delivered along with a comment that they were sorry about the wait and now there was a problem with the roast as there were no vegetables? I commented that maybe a bowl of chips may help. They did eventually offer a free drink (no chip). We finally asked for the dessert that came with the roast and that was only just! Finally got meals put in take away to take home for dinner after 2 hrs from ordering. Poor form Wharf Hotel, your couple of wait staff on did agreat job. To top it off I check my bank account as I used my credit card and always check only to find they charge a fee on top? Don't remember seeing a warning anywhere that this would happen? Won't be rushing back ! Oh the fish was delicious 😋

We had dinner here. The dining room was busy but the service was up to the challenge. Meals arrived promptly, great service, dishes were more than ample sized and delicious seafood.

We dined here for lunch yesterday. We were the first to arrive at the restaurant for lunch and place our order, yet our order took 50mins to arrive. $40ish for a seafood basket that was so heavily battered and deep fried you couldn't even taste the seafood, no salt on the chips and they were pretty cold. The cheese and garlic bread would have been better if it was hot too, rather than luke warm. Scollop and pineapple tacos luckily were quite nice. Staff were friendly, but after $96 on these meals we were pretty disappointed. We wouldn't return.

Very expensive for what you get. Go to one of the up market restaurants in Stanley, much better value. Staff not very pleasant. Very short and not friendly. Such a shame the staff don't promote the business that employs them.

Typical pub style accomodation, small cheap rooms with basic ammenities. Room was clean and the Bed was comfy. Only down side was there was some light shining in from the hallway and the room smelt a little stuffy. But for $100 a night a decent budget accommodation option.

Terrible place to stay, rooms are loud as hell and dirty, beds are clapped out and smell. Great if AC/DC blasting into the night in the middle of the week is your thing. Just thankful I learnt my lesson booking here for one night and not more

Stayed here one night. Noisey, beds are concaved so you may wake up sore. Food in restaraunt is decent pub food. Staff freindly. Room decently clean. Wifi signal doesnt reach most rooms so dont count on netflix. For 100 bucks a night its half decent. But if you want quality accomodations spend 50 bucks more.

My family and I stayed at the wharf hotel. Wynyard last week we stayed for a total of 3 days. My first impressions of the hotel was wow what a great location! We went inside checked into our room which was very clean comfortable our room had a had a great view of the water across the road. The staff members were attentive and friendly My wife and for children ate at the bistro. I ordered a steak and veggies. My wife ordered the chicken parmigiana and the children had kids meals. Both of our meals was very good. I had a good selection of wine and beers All in all it was a great experience and would definitely bring the family back again.

I just had a meal here, the place was incredibly loud, people were licking windows from the outside, and the overall atmosphere was uncomfortable. I ordered a Cesar salad at 6:30pm and it arrived at 8:10pm. The egg had dark brown goo inside (it wasn’t the yolk), I chose not to eat it, the salad had 1 extremely long piece of bacon and no croutons. My table had 2 waitresses serving tonight, the boy was very nice and polite, but the girl that served us was extremely disrespectful, she was slamming our food on the table, rolling her eyes, and while I was waiting to order a drink from the bar a man was in front of me complaing about waiting 1 and a half hours for a pizza, and he was respectfully explaining it, the girl scoffed at him and said “I’ll go check for YOU” rudely. Overall I will definitely not be going back to that place.

Had a $35 coral trout meal. The fish and chips were cold and soggy. Maybe they budget the electricity, I don't know but won't be back.

Eaten here before and was amazing. But this time it was so sub standard I was appalled. My husband expected to be sick through the night as he ordered grilled flathead only to be served fish of some sort. My curried scallops were so poor. I ate them as had no option. Would not recommend this place to anyone food wise. Was a great place once but let down sooooo badly this time. And I might suggest we are average punters not up market peeps. .

Booked here mainly because people rated the meals. And I had to do my work nearby. Well, where do i start. Finally got checked in after around a 10 min wait. Got to the room, and it was roasting hot with no air-conditioning, just a celing fan that was not very powerful at all! Not even a bottle of water in the fridge! So I had a cold shower to cool down and went down to order a meal, after shutting the cheap and nasty curtains in the room and on the room which was right above the smoking area nice and handy right under your rooms. (NOT) so off to the bistro, thought I would treat myself to a North West coast rib-eye fillet steak and must have been the apprentice cooking due to the big cut in the middle of the steak to see if it was cooked! About the best part of the meal was the cob loaf. The veggies were peeled (potatoes) and dipped in hot water, and 6 on the plate and not really shore what else was going on on the plate. So after paying to dollar for a steak that's was so over cooked! I went to the vending machine for lollies and chocolate. And the bar for a cold lemonade to take back to the roasting room. So overall, I'm not a happy, chappy. service in Bistro was good, meal was awful and well for $130 for 1 night double bed no table to sit at no air con not even 1 bottle of water. Very disappointing.
