We walked into this pub thinking we would get a good pub feed but we ended up with bagged coleslaw, chewy disgusting ribs that I couldn’t even think about eating. The parmie had a weird taste that is hard to describe but tasted fake. The only good thing at the white lion are their drinks which they don’t make - funny enough. My son and I are road tripping from Brisbane to Mackay and stopped at the hotel across the road and thought this pub looked good. We thought wrong didn’t we! All my son and I suggest is that u go to another place to have a meal.

We visited the White Lion spur of the moment as we had children in a dance competition at the Brolga. Arrived without a reservation. Despite all tables reserved the kitchen staff went out of their way to accommodate all of us (8 adults, 6 kids). Food arrived promptly and was above pub food standard. Thank you

We time our trips to Hervey Bay from Brisbane to stop in here for lunch. The meals are amazing, great value for money. Staff are wonderful and beer is cold. Can't recommend it highly enough

Took my wife out for lunch to one of our favourite bistro in Maryborough to celebrate our new car purchase before pickup, So spacious very polite friendly staff willing to go above and beyond for customers, huge meals nice cocktails and drink range even had hard solo on tap.
Yes that’s my wife’s awesome blue lagoon. I stuck with liquid H2O. Due to I could safely enjoy a drink brought for there own drive through bottle shop and drink responsibly at home as I need my license to return to the White Lion for more delicious huge menu.

The staff couldn't have been friendlier. The food was good and certainly plentiful however we waited over an hour for our meals which while I understand that it's the start of Xmas parties etc, it was totally unacceptable.
Also I ordered two entrees which were put on the same plate which meant everything was swimming in the honey sesame sauce which ruined it.
Also...please bring back the arachini balls. So many of my friends and family miss them.
But overall, apart from that, it was a pleasant evening.

The seafood topper was sensational, the steak cooked to perfection, with al dente vege’s, real sausages, and a smooth, tasty mash - we were in foody heaven.
Superb food, in an atmosphere of happy customers, cleanliness, and friendly staff - well done to all the team - we thoroughly enjoyed, and will be back. I highly recommend this Maryborough gem.

The Best Chicken Curry I have had in years, So tasty apart from rice being a bit dry it was a lovely meal.
Aircon too cold and service was a bit frosty. Very clinical renovations and felt boxed in, would love to have seen some more photos of original building interior.
Also staff did not ask if my meal was ok as I think that is important when dining out.
Inattentive staff looked bored like they did not want to be there.

Stopped in our way travelling north for lunch. The inside is newly renovated, fresh and modern. The food was very good, great service and the pizza was sooo good! Great family dining atmosphere and lovely people.

Quality Food, generous serves, great staff, very busy for good reason....oh but the lighting was so bright it felt like being in a hospital!! A smidgen dimmer would have made a huge difference to the atmosphere....but overall impressive!

Overall the experience felt rushed. Poor communication & timing. Crowded and hot atmosphere. But the food was a really good with large portion sizes.
We ordered our meals which included 5 entrees and 6 mains. Ordered and paid separately for the same table. My Nan (elderly lady who doesn’t eat much) ordered an entree and requested it come out with the mains. The server complied.
When our table received the food, My Nans meal came out alongside a few of the other entrees. We questioned why she was getting the entree (specified as a main) and the server stated that she had put it down as a main and simply walked away. Poor communication.
Not long after, our last entree that we did not receive yet came out. The server tried to take away the other entree dishes that we were visibly still eating.. While still finishing our entrees we received our main meals. It felt as if there was poor time management between entrees and mains being sent.
The food was really good! Flavour was wonderful. Large portions. Veges were a little undercooked but still delicious.. maybe just personal preference. They were very quick to start clearing plates.
Throughout the night as more people would come into the restaurant you could feel the temperature of the room increasing. The room became quite hot which made the experience less enjoyable. Few of us were sitting at the table literally sweating. (We know we weren’t the only ones in the room with that experience)
6:55pm they informed us we would have to move to the bar if we wanted to stay as they had a reservation for 7pm at this table. Giving us 1.5hrs to get seated, read the menu, order, wait, and eat is fine but definitely rushed considering they offer entrees, mains and desserts. It would have made the experience a lot better if we were told when we booked that we only get 1.5hrs at the table. We wouldn’t have taken our time to enjoy ourselves as much out of respect for the industry and table turnovers. To be rushed and not know why until the last second is not a pleasant experience. I have never dined a restaurant that has a 1.5hr reservations and not tell you when you book. Very poor communication.
Completely different outcome if we were informed when we booked.

Not to bad,I met my grandaughter and her boyfriend there,they live in cooran sunshine coast,we live in Hervey bay,the food was ok the only thing I didn't like my grandaughter had to much coleslaw it looked yucky

My wife and I had the seafood tower for lunch to celebrate our 36 wedding anniversary. It was beautiful and a "free" bottle of wine $120.00 total. We could not be happier and the service just made it even better. Thanks guys.

Fish was amazing...so was the chips...cheers guys...all that was missing was a nice old NZ white bait pattie that the kiwis love to eat...didn't get time to take any photos of the food...to busy putting it into my art...

First visit to Maryborough,recommended by the Best Western Motel Kimba Lodge.Absolutely recommend food amazing with cost at reasonable prices the (locals best kept secret )the staff and their hospitality,the hotel was clean tidy family restaurant no noise and the organisation was a well run establishment on all sections 11/10.Thankyou from myself and my wife as it was our first getaway without children and our experience was warming.

Fantastic Family outing for Lunch or Dinner highly recommended great food great prices entrees are good value friendly warm welcoming staff great atmosphere well worth the visit for Lunch and Dinner any night of the week. Enjoyed almost everything on the menu the week That I stayed there i had to leave something for others to enjoy... hahahaha

Decided to take the kids out for a midweek treat somewhere new and am very happy we chose The White Lion. The food was tasty and good value for money. We knew it must be good as it was hard to get a park and the line up to order was long. Definitely worth it though.

Cheesy shnitty with prawn, shnitty, 400g steak, bangers mash and nachos, definitely worth the feed no complaints at all and super busy. Went in for sons birthday. Again worth it.

Amazing friendly staff, delicious meals. What more could you want? Hubby loved the Thai Red Curry, and I had the chicken snitchzel.

A huge THANK YOU to Storme and Bobby they are lovely friendly, helpful staff..
Was suppose to meet a so called friend for dinner but they didn't turn up so wasn't happy and not feeling good.. They made me feel better and even Storme brought out some water for my little dog, unfortunately she barked a little which isn't usually like her, so I ate and just left.. My meal was great I really enjoyed it.. Will definitely recommend this pub 👌

Absolutely loved it. Spotlessly clean. Lovely staff and food was amazing. Went there a few times for meals. Icy cold beers and outdoor covered seating.

Just off a flight and decided to revisit this local pub. Got in early (5pm) and found a table. One of the staff was putting 'Reserved' signs on all tables. We were told we are early so ok.
Food came out and Bobby had a chat with us and she went through the weeks specials. We booked with her Wednesday as it is steak night.. she is a great representative for this hotel. Se worked the room welcoming everyone. Very good customer service.
Our food was the best, lamb shank with a glass of Shiraz (Berton's vineyard 'the black siraz)
My steak was awesome, pepper sauce with a bite and garlic mash

We had a large party for a Thursday night and there were a number of groups here to dine.
The atmosphere was good in the corner we occupied and food ordering was at the counter which took some time.
As guests started to grow impatient for their food, it started to roll out. I could understand the kitchen would have been over run with orders.
My fillet Mignon was tiny (100grams) and over cooked. The salad was fresh and brilliant, however my plate missed the pepper sauce I paid for. That said, everyone enjoyed their meals so mine was a one off perhaps so four stars until I return.
Well done to the staff who worked hard to get our food and they even checked on us so 👍 👌
