When your starving for a steak And order a TBone and only eat the salad and chips you know it’s pretty bad,
I suggest eat before going there for a drink or walk across the road and get a kebab.

Went there in a group to have dinner. When I went to order my meal I asked the lady if I could use the government free dining vouchers there. She replied no we don’t take them here. My sister arrived a bit later and ordered and paid with her dining vouchers. I approached the restaurant and asked them why did she take my sisters vouchers but told me they did not take them there and the man chef replied “Oh she doesn’t understand english very well”. He did not even offer to rectify the situation’. Very poor customer service and to add to it, the food was not the best either. Will not be eating there ever again!

We love the Tollgate's bistro! Best chicken schnitzel in the hills, top-notch steaks, and the salmon and pipis special with garlic confit fregula was outstanding tonight. Huge thanks to chefs Praveen and Rakesh for consistently delivering delicious meals. Keep up the great work!

We have been dining at the tollgate for 10 yrs.
The service Michael and his staff have always provided is beyond excellent!
Michael spoiled our daughter and would feed her for free before we ordered our meals.
I hope to see Michael back in the new revamped kitchen as the tollgate bistro is nothing without him.

We come here every week, cheap and nice meals. Worth every penny. Great venue with plenty of seating, not a huge place but it's reasonably priced.

We came to this pub with high expectations considering the renovation. We ordered the 300g steak & 200g. Steak was extremely salty and unpleasant. We asked for medium rare instead it was more well done and only pinkish in the centre. Salad was terribly seasoned with a nasty super acidic vingerette. Hope Management fixes this ASAP 💢💢

Waited like 35 minutes for the food to arrive, only found out after we ordered that the kitchen was unfortunately understaffed for that particular day during a trivia night. So about 20 mins into our wait i asked to get takeaway instead.
Ordered the cheeseburger and the pizza which was decently sized and tasted fine but the cheeseburger looked sad and small. definitely wasn't worth the wait. Pub food is meant to be huge, filling, and great value and it seemed a bit lacking in that department.
At least the bartender offered us a free drink so we got a lemon lime bitter, which wasn't actually a cocktail made lemon lime bitter, it was purely made from the schwepps dispenser and it was pink, they charged $4.20 for that
Next time tell us an approximate wait time or let us know the situation in the kitchen before we ordered, even the sign that said "sorry we're understaffed" was at the back where the kitchen is instead of at the front desk where people order and might see.

Tried the Chef special Bruschetta, it was mind blowing. Quantity, might be on smaller side, but for that taste.. 👍Also the Pan fried fish with Mashed peas base... Very nice one. Thanks Rakesh, the chef for the wonderful food.

This Tollgate Hotel in North Parramatta is a gem! Conveniently located with plenty of parking, this Pub is my favourite in the area. Modern interior with plenty of room in either the main bar or bistro. For lunch yesterday I had the grilled Barramundi with carrot puree, chargrilled broccolini, topped with mango/avocado salsa and it was perfect. It was so scrumptious and could not fault it. I had planned to take a photo of my meal but the Barra tasted so good, that I only remembered about the photo when I was staring at my empty plate. The staff are friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. Not sure what the gaming area is like, I don't gamble but there are multiple screens for watching sports with one large one in the main bar. Highly recommend this venue.

This is to anyone who wants to go and have a delicious meal with your family or just to catch up for a drink with friends. The Tollgate Hotel in North Parramatta is awesome. I have been coming here for the past 4 years, and the service that Jessie, Niki and all the staff do is fantastic. Also, the food is to die for! I highly recommend this pub. You will not be disappointed. I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Jessie and Niki for doing a remarkable job. Keep up the great work guys!

This is a well laid out and vet well appointed pub. Proper chef run kitchen with large dining area and separate sports bar with huge screens and pool tables.

They have daily specials on the menu and great value. On Fridays, you can get a sirloin and chips for $24 instead of the regular price of $35. It was cooked as requested, and the chips were so crunchy. It's a great place for a catch-up with friends or family. The food is good quality and well prepared. There are plenty of booths and other seating areas.

They completed a renovation program during the lockdown. It is a different place with a larger kitchen and well priced food. The staff are friendly too.

The staff at tolegate are at a 2* rating they wonder around your poker machine while your playing and look at you as if your robbing the machine or something, lf you like to gamble in privacy and be comfortable l suggest not to go to the tolegate hotel.

The staff are very rude in the pokies lounge. There’s never any food, and the staff roll their eyes when I ask for a drink - ffs I’m paying $120 for my glass of coke!

The renovations have changed this tired old pub into a lovely modern venue. Food has improved 10 fold! $14 for a tender rump steak with mash, beautiful mixed green veg and mushroom sauce - great value. The food has always been cheap but now it is quality. Great selection of beers on tap. Bar staff didn't charge for my daughters lemon squash which was a lovely gesture. Took one star off as our meals took quite a while to come out.

The place looks great but the food on the other hand not so pretty.It wasn't because it was real bad it was very small for the price and the garlic pizza was ugly looking.It wasn't cut properly and not enough prawns.

The Hotel interiors are in desperate need of a renovation: it looks old and tired. The service at the bar was nice and friendly but the bowl of wedges I got was badly burned and inedible. I did not make a fuss,but won't go back. It takes very few things to make customers returning these days and care for the food is one of those things.

Old Pub, with comfy atmosphere.
It's large Floor area allowing plenty room for your freedom of movement, making Complying with Convid S/D painless. While backing on to a reserve, gives the Hugh rear Deck a quite Ambience, with the Structure blocking out a noise from Busy Windsor Rd/ Church St.
Good range of Beverages backed by an Asian/ Western Bistro. Safe access to street parking exiting via Bottle Shop.

My wife and I have dined their over the last ten years and found the food was always good value and the kitchen well run by the previous Chinese couple. Honestly now the food is disgusting and don't ask for anything extra the cranky blonde lady will give you the death stare. We will not be going back or our friends.

Located on Church St North Parramatta makes having parking is a bonus. Hotel looks neat with all the things you would exspect from the local pub. Meals are well priced and good quality.

Like putting your foot into a well worn slipper, this place brings on distinct emotions and images of the past.
Also like putting on a slipper you ask yourself, half heartedly as your brow begins to furrow, 'is there something moving there or just a rock', and 'what's that smell?'.

I've lived in the area for a while but it's only few weeks ago I've visited the Tollgate hotel for lunch with my friends.
I was really impressed with the location it's very nice fit out, good atmosphere.
The staff was friendly and helpful.
Good variety of drinks and food was nice.
Parking on site is a huge advantage

I've eaten a couple times now and love the food. The surf and turf is so bloody good, I had to come back two days later for seconds. The guy who cooked it Tuesday wins the steak off, just. Haha still delish.

Its cool, huge BIG screen TV'S, like 3 of them, one covers the entire wall from the floor to the ceiling and end to end. Perfect for state of origin. Put it this way, if you wear glass's you won't need them. Foods good, new restaurant Reno's. The beer is always cold, clean and crisp, never had a bad beer there ever. Indoor outdoor areas, pool tables are well kept, all kinds of people mix and drink there. Mad kebab shop across the road.

It had been 20 years since I spent some time at the Tollgate. Wow what a change, renovated a few years ago it has very pleasant décor, a lovely Bistro setting and it is a very well appointed sports bar.
I went with friends to watch the Tim Tszyu fight, very enjoyable, huge screen on the veranda area which was a pleasant place away from air conditioning. Bar service was fast and efficient and the publican is a lovely bloke.
Can recommend this for small or large groups to drink or dine, they cater for large groups in the bistro. I will be back again had a great time.

I like this pub because it's close to home but I wouldn't recommend travelling to the pub if your looking for busy a night out. It's a good local pub
Plenty of screens to watch sports. Friendly staff always willing to accommodate and change channels to watch sport. Good TAB. Pokie jackpot is always huge $50k+. 2 straight pool tables. Jukebox. Pin ball machines. Dart boards. Bistro is cheap but you get what you pay for. Topless waiters on certain days. No children here. Bottle shop next door. Late night kebab joint across the road (kebab is garbage, would not recommend)

Good special menu options, good garnishing of meal, okay food quality, reasonable cooking time, good drinks options and reasonable drink price, not too bad customer service(due to some noise staff), so so atmosphere. Kitchen's look could improve. You can see old stains in the wall. Kitchen wall full of notes and photos - visual pollution. Also kitchen staff would keep the kitchen side door opened transmitting his kitchen noises out of the kitchen and affecting our dinning experience.
I believe this hotel has a huge potential to better the service provided.

Gone are the sticky floors and topless waitresses, this is now a quality establishment you can bring the family for a meal, or pull up a stool and watch sports in the sports bar. Food was tasty and quickly served.

First time at this hotel, went there after been recommended from friends, so I decided to try it out as I am sick of the meals that the clubs are dishing out.
The food at the Tollgate hotel were very good and taste, I found the prices to be very good value, staff and patrons were very friendly.
I will go there more regularly now, the only thing they need is more.comfortable lounges as the chairs become uncomfortable after a short while. Great place for food and drink.

Fabulous pub and recently refurbished perfectly. Food is delicious with generous servings. Lovely interior and bar and a world away from the Biker Bar it used to be. Staff are friendly and the ambience is welcoming and relaxed Parramatta is evolving and this fabulous Pub is testimony to that.

Been using this as the 'regular' for about 15 months. The food is well priced (especially for Parramatta), have not had any issues with meals being under or over cooked, no flavour / taste problems. Quite happy to keep going back. Seating here takes about 150-200 people. The daily special here has a good meal for $8-$10 as long as you don't change anything.
Their website was recently re-done, this is much better than it was.
If you're so inclined, they have the lingerie waitresses there Wed - Fri afternoons.
Beer prices are OK, getting anything decent on tap means Coopers.:D - it's not all bad. Amongst the rest of the range is Carlton, Great Northern, VB.
It has a pool table, inside & outside seating. Outside seating would roughly take 120 people, some under cover. Parking would be about 100 cars +/-

As soon as you finish on the pokies they will kick you out as you aren't allowed to watch your friend play. We spent heaps of money there and they won't even let you sit down without feeding through more money. Appauling service.

A nice and clean hotel with a great little vibe. Decent bar and sports bar area and a nice and clean restaurant. A wide range of food and specials available and the service is quick and reasonably priced.

Always a good pub to relax and have a really casual beer with your mates (if you go to the beer garden out back). It's non committal, shabby but clean, warm and cosy with outdoor heaters over the tables where you can smoke. Literally a good unassuming local pub. No vegetarian options though which is really backwards.

After 3 plus years of frequently visiting this establishment and giving them business... The benefit of the doubt is over. I always wondered why they're constantly empty, the answer is: customer service is Non-existent. To top it off management is pathetic! Instead of retaining business/customers they act like cowboys... No wonder the place is a dive in general. Oh well, my business will be going elsewhere as well as advising everyone else I know to do the same.
