YOU, should go there. Iiiii don't think the rooms are done yet but renovations have changed what was a stingie run down old stinker of a pub that you would not EVER go to. In to a place that I now can't wait to go back to. It is now a place for all types from singles to families. They have that couch area out back that is good for couples wanting to kanoodle and such. The massive new outdoor area with that massive screen for the sport and awesome heating. I have only seen the jumping castle for the lil nippers and tables right there for parents to sit at on the weekends but it is 100% a good idea. THE MENU is a top notch pub menu that is really NOT over priced and drinks are cheap enough too. All in all it is a great place to go!!!!

We were only here for lunch today. We made a reservation. We turned up at the allocated time. The service was perfect, easy to order, easy to get our meals. The staff looked after us well. Thank you for making my birthday special. The meals are big, this is only half of the veal schnitzel lunch special. The salad was delicious, the chips had a tasty coating. We had the steak sandwich and the seafood baskets. All were delicious. The view was great. The staff cleared the tables quickly. Perfect lunch thank you very much!!!

We had the best night there seeing James Reyne! He's brilliant! Great pub! Loving all the entertainment they're having play. Move for a quiet meal and drink as well.

We had Chicken Parmigiana yesterday & it was extremely underwhelming & disappointing.
It was so bland & tasteless, how is that possible? 😯
The Chicken was very overcooked, ham sliced paper thin & the cheese was like melted plastic.
We've heard great things about this Hotels food, but sadly we didn't experience that & $30 for Chicken Parmigiana is outrageous, with a handful of chips & a tiny cup of salad? Nah!
The beer was nice & cold, but this was our 3rd try at the menu & previously it was disappointing too, so 3 strikes & you're out. Definitely won't be returning for food anymore. Such a shame. 😒

Was a lot nicer as a pub before the renovations. It's more like an oversized restaurant now.

Toronto Hotel has played a crucial role in the history of the Lake Macquarie region, and was built in 1889 (or something like that.) That said, the accommodation offered is situated in a modern motel style building, rather than the original property. Although somewhat pricey, the rooms are clean and comfortable with cable TV, shower heads in the bathroom, and other features. The staff are also friendly.

The renovations are really nice and the girls bathroom was just so amazing! I haven't been there in years. It has lost some of its local pub charm because I felt underdressed in my singlet, shorts and boots but the staff were really pleasant and I didn't feel out of place. I really do hope that when they finish the renovations they put a pool table somewhere, because a pub with no pool is almost as tragic as a pub with no beer 😉

The pub is lovely. The staff are very friendly and the food is really good. The heaters are lovely and warm. I only gave 3 stars because of the smoking. We come for the pub choir and have dinner also but the smokers in the enclosed outdoor area ( which says No Smoking ) really spoils it. It spoils your meal and it spoils trying to sing while breathing in this stink which is technically a closed in area as the screens are done to keep the cool air out and the heaters more effective.
It should be a no smoking zone in all of this area.

Recently renovated and still working on it becoming even better. This hotel is in a prime location with an amazing view, nestled amongst the trees on Lake Macquarie. A big supporter of live music in the HUNTER, great food and friendly staff. My only gripe was that they charge an extra $5 for mash and vegetables whenever you order something of the menu. Apart from this, I love the place!

Food however a different story, was with a group end if yr break up. Don't think Any1 thought their meal good, steaks awful couldn't eat it nearly cooked as asked but a bit over cooked but meat tough. Burger patties was the scrapiest meat patties I've ever seen on a burger and tasteless all in all more was left than eaten in our group wouldn't recommend for a gathering

Netty. Was. Here. For the $15 Lunch Menu (midweek) don’t get me wrong this is a beautiful location. I was recommended the Beef Burger but was hanging for a spicy kick and went with the Southern Fried Chicken Burger.
The bun fell to pieces in my hand, the chicken was dry and all the sauce was soaked into the bread. Overall if the stacking was done a little different I could have had a better time of it. The sauce needs to cover the chicken so it doesn’t soak into the bread. Cheese between the chicken. The chips tho; that herb salt is really tasty and was the delight of my meal. With a schooner of beer totalled $22.50.
Staff were reasonably friendly, but didn’t care to listen to my feedback, so I had to leave it here instead. Hopefully once all renovations are done I can come back and have a better experience.
The outdoor beer garden is immaculately done with the big screen. I could image it would be a great spot to catch all the big sport matches.

I think I literally ate deep fried cardboard. Would have been better off eating at officeworks. I ordered the chicken schnitzel but got a chicken shitzel. Not very impressed, had to wait ages for a table which didn’t give me a good view of the bulldogs loosing, all round bad experience. Next time will be trying Toronto Bunnings where I can get a real sausage sangha!

Like the only bad thing that I can say about this place is the fact that they’re not located in Sydney? For real, the food was soooo delicious, fantastic restaurant quality meal that I’d not expect from a pub.
We went here twice. 2 nights in a row, ordering different types of food. My fave would be the king ceviche and sticky date pudding, seriously give it a go.
It’s both dog and kid friendly place. We went here during the long weekend and although it was packed, the staff was efficient.

Had a wonderful time. They are still in the midst of renovations but staff were great. Plenty of smiles 😃 perfect for the 31st we attended.

Had a great dinner in the beer garden at sunset. The food was well priced with enough variety to satisfy our whole family.

Had a 45 minute wait for a squid pasta ….. ended up with a bowl of oil drenched slop that was hard to swallow so left it on the table ….. to top it off the manager was rude and not interested in providing me a spoon and fork at the servery ….. lift your game Toronto Hotel …..love the improvements on the pub….. you’ve dropped the ball on service and quality food

Great pub with friendly staff and very delicious food. The only reason I haven’t given it five stars is that it has pokies with an area where there’s smoking allowed inside. I hate both pokies and smoking.

Great pub - enjoy the lovely voices from the Tuesday pub Choir.
Sunday lunch - food was good (they were busy, so it took over an hour to get our meal).

Great location, food is quite good just the service is very inadequate. Renovations have been going on for ages and are very disrupting I imagine. I had the special T-bone with garlic and chilli seafood. I love chilli but this had too much spice in it. The Steak 300g was really only cooked on one side for $49 😳🤔. Will review again once all renovations are completed.

Great location and delicious food. We both had Beef Asian Stir-fry and it's definitely worth having. Only downside were the toilets which could definitely do with an update.

Great atmosphere & lake views in a very historic pub. Well managed . It also has modern extensions under construction... I'll try the dining room after the renovations.
I hope they're building more rooms, this town needs more accommodation.
Very good value bears during Happy hour 4 to 6:00 p.m..

Booked a table for 6 including one infant, ordered our food and waited 3 hours and never came out.
We confronted the kitchen staff and they sent us to the bar for a refund and the manager ( the bald guy ) was very rude and short changed our refund and told us to leave before further actions Accure. Even threatened to bring up the cameras to accuse us of lying.
Would never recommend. 👎
