We recently dined at the Torquay Hotel for our Sales and Marketing Conference. The service was excellent, the staff were friendly and accommodated our 35-plus guests. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Thank you for hosting us.

Waaaaaaay over priced! $47 for a porterhouse that was about the same as a standard pub meal. They are seriously taking the mickey at this joint! Cut the amount of service staff down so you can make the food prices more realistic. Much better value at other restaurants in the vicinity.

Thumbs up to Abby in the Dining area. Abby your warm table manner did not go unnoticed, you were so accomodating to us and my daughter. You checked our questions with the chefs, were approachable, passionate and such a credit to the buisness. You made our time so pleasant :)

The motel is attached to the pub where they have a DJ every Friday and Saturday. We had to listen to the music blasting into our hotel room for over 4 hours on a Friday night. Website says it ends at 11:30 pm but they went much later the night we stayed. ||Other than feeling like our hotel room was in the middle of the pub and dance floor the rooms were nice and clean. WiFi is okay and free if you don’t have your own Aussie data plan which we did not.

The Hotel/ Motel is located in a good area for an easy walk to any restaurants or cafes. The rooms we had where located at the far end away from any road noise. The rooms were nice and the beds comfortable. Being a hotel/ motel you do not have to walk far for some cold beverages or a meal.

Staff are amazing here, best service I’ve had in a long while. Food was great but the staff are the real standout, motel could be updated but I’d prefer they didnt, faux thatched internal roof and timber decor screams seventies but not in a tacky way, it totally owns it. Location is good with a range of bars and restaurants/ take seats within 100 meters.

Second time back after the refurb, said I'd never go back again. Anyway went back a couple years later and left disappointed again! If only they spent some of the money on good kitchen staff that can serve up quality food especially with the prices they are charging. We don't care about the table service, spend it on good quality ingredients and more importantly good kitchen staff. Such a shame. The old layout and set up including food prices and quality was so much better.

Our table service for our booking of seven in the Tank Room was terrific and the meals great. The steak special, Salmon, Barramundi and vegetarian meal were all enjoyed. The staff were all very attentive and routinely checked in on any additional drink requests also clearing empty and not required glasses and crockery along the way. The service experienced at the Torquay Hotel was far better than than most “higher end” restaurants I’ve attended of late. Thank you. We’ll be back.

Note - this is a review of the beer garden section, not the dining area. We visited here Sunday around 4pm, were told seating available in beer garden and it's suitable for kids. We have a 5, 7 and 9 yr old. I'm certainly no prude, but there were a number of males quite clearly drunk and swearing quite loudly. There were also a few men vaping, even though they were sitting next to a no smoking sign. I would not recommend this area of the Torquay Hotel to anyone with children, particularly below 10 yrs old. We have been to many beer gardens with our kids, but this was just an unpleasant experience.

Nice pub, have sat in every section, we prefer the beer garden but it's hard to get a spot in busy periods. We keep coming back each year, a little bit of a tradition. We return so it must be good, nice spot and short walk to beach and shops

My partner & I ordered the Parma & was terrible. For $29 I would expected a real chicken breast, crumbs were soggy & will not be going back. Vegetables & potatoes were good.

My friend and I had a lovely lunch Sunday afternoon. The food was delicious and the service was very good. By Monday morning we were both feeling very sick in the stomach. I thought I would call them to tell them we were both sick but I couldn’t speak to a person only make bookings online. I don’t think we will be going there again.

I have never been lied to or given so many roadblocks when cancelling a reservation and getting a refund as I did with this hotel. I cancelled a month prior to my booking and should never had been charged. I received an email on the day I had originally planned to arrive asking for the time I would arrive and reminded them of my cancellation and sent the cancellation email to them. They charged me. After no less than 5 calls I finally had to reach out to my credit card company and only them did I get my money back!! Worst customer service. I will never stay at this hotel.

I had a highly disappointing experience at Torquay Beach Hotel. The service was terrible, marked by rude customer service. My friend's food was accidentally dropped, and instead of offering assistance, the staff mocked her behind the bar. To make matters worse, when she cut her hand, they refused to provide a simple band-aid. Overall, the hospitality was exceptionally poor. I cannot recommend this establishment based on my regrettable visit.

Had a terrible night here. The patrons were hostile and I vow to never return. Was uncomfortable from the first moment and ended up in several physical altercations while trying to watch a band. Privileged men who were hostile. Never struck this in Melbourne. Felt so unsafe.

Had an excellent lunch here, seafood linguine and chocolate tart with orange blossom. Linguine was full of seafood, very good quantity for lunch $38. Choc tart at $16 was well worth it to finish off a beautiful lunch. The orange blossom cream with blackberries and raspberries hit the spot sending you to food nirvana. Great hotel with TAB and pokies. Staff were all very professional and friendly.

Had a meal here for the first time ever. Staff were very friendly and efficient with smiles all around. My meal was the ribs and chicken, it was tasty but unfortunately it was just warm. Ribs were over cooked. Overall a good experience

Great pub. The beer garden is superb and the main bar and bistro are also great. From dry aged steaks cooked over the flamed grill to the impressive kids play area, it’s a must visit place. My kids went a bit loony as per the videos but they were very excited to go here.

Good priced food, the service in the bistro was awesome, very clean and comfortable. The food was nice and tasty. A tip to the chef, the parmas would be awesome if you used egg wash instead of batter mix. See in photo, there was more batter than chicken. Other than that it was tasty. The wife loved her lamb Morrocan salad but there was a bit to much lentils.

First to me dining here and it won't be the last! The staff where super friendly and helpful. The food, oh my wow! I had the swordfish which was a special and that was soooo good, the rest of the family had chicken parmigiana's and they looked awesome! We had the sticky date for dessert and that was exceptional!

Definitely an iconic pub in Torquay to drop in for a colldie or feed. I used to come here in the early 90's, so it was great to revisit for the memory. It's still as busy as it was back then, just modernised. Prices are a little bit up there $$$ for pub food, But as a visitor at Easter time, I'd expect that.

Came here from out of town, my friend paid over $50 for terrible service and mockery when she dropped her food due to cramping on a counter and had slashed her hand open and spilt food all over herself. Server resided to help and mocked my friend. My friend was so embarrassed and ashamed from the experience she left the venue in tears. Absolutely appalling and I would never wish this upon anyone

Beautiful customer service by Abbey! She knew exactly what we needed on a Saturday night and fully catered for all of our needs! The only thing I would say is that Alana was quite rude to us as a collective and had underlying issues with her manner. Kind regards, Zara
