Wonderful venue, very friendly staff, great food 😋 😀 👌

Wonderful, caring staff! The building had a bit of a mechanical emergency and they were on it very quickly! Great conversation starter! A bar was at our disposal and, as we were downstairs with no reason for other patrons to pass through, it was quite and private. BIG BONUS - No sound of pokies down there either! Good soundproofing makes a difference. Being built on a bit of a rise made it possible to have a long wall of windows facing the bowling greens and trees. All the food provided was fresh, tasty and suitable for all palates. Plenty of fresh fruit and an assortment of sweet treats rounded out the meal along with tea and coffee. I'd be happy to have my wake there...in a few decades!

When my friend & I first walked in this venue there was a harsh grease smell. When we continued in to order our food, which was a chicken schnitzel and a parmigiana. the waitress’s were rude, gave us dirty looks (which we have no bloody clue who they are) we sat down, garlic bread was average then we got our main meals….. both chickens were tough to cut into then we decided to cut the middle to see if that was the same as the edges but it was slimy and the entire inside of the chicken (what is suppose to be white) was grey as well. Which means it’s been either sitting in the fridge for longer than 2 days or was cooked over 2 days ago. the chips were dry and over cooked, no potato inside at all was just crunch. honestly if i could make it 0 stars i would.

we booked a table for 15 then they gave us a table for 2, we had to wait 15 - 20 minutes for a table then have waited over an hour for our food and missed 3 meals. poor customer service and very unorganised would not be coming back

We all enjoyed our meals, 1st Class 🤗. Unfortunately we were told off by a Male kitchen staff member who sadly tripped over my granddaughter who was running back to her parents table. We were told to keep our children under control!!!! We were told its not a playground. The girls were not playing. Maybe a kids play area could be considered.

Was told prior to going that food was average. Should have listened to them. How can you meet up a Schnitzel ? Reception staff member was rude. Behind the food service desk lokked like an office. Won't be back.

Very nasty management I ain't going to be coming back ever again to this club

Update Nov 2022: it seems like the bistro has changed hands? Group of approx 30 people. Function meals were a lot better organised this time, though we had a weird group menu where we could only have entree+main or main+dessert so it was awkward sitting around with colleagues where half didn't have food. The table settings were very cramped; instead of allowing a person one side of a small square table to themselves it was about 1.3 people which mean some had their plate balancing between the cracks of two uneven tables. I've not ever seen such a single long line of those square tables, I'd call it a strange arrangement for a function. It was an epic walk still to get a drink at the bar at the other end of the building. Bar halfway was unmanned. Would be nice if they provided water in function rooms. I had salmon for my main and it was absolutely delicious and would receive a five star rating alone. My dessert was forgotten and when questioned the server said "the chef has done everything that was on the order" or something to that extent which made it feel like I was the one in the wrong and I felt pretty awkward eating my dessert after that. Original review 2 stars, Dec 2020(?). Review mostly based on the food. Cheesy wedges were a sad mess of cheap frozen wedges and cheap cheese that solidified into one giant lump of wedge. 200gram scotch fillet medium rare was served with the wrong sides. By the time it came back the meat was lukewarm. The meat had been cooked to hell and back. It was barely medium well, dry, and burnt. No gravy made it hard to swallow. What an insult to the meat. Please don't put steak on your menu if you don't know how to cook it! The potato bake was delicious, the vegetables were good. Serving size abysmal. Had to search half of the building to find a spare napkin. Ability to handle a small function of 20 was atrocious as per the many food stuff ups and poor quality that others also received. The carpets are well overdue for a deep clean. Dry sauce splattered all over decorative pot plants. Glad I didn't use the toilets. Never stepping foot in this place again (an empty threat since I had no choice when someone rebooked the same venue)

The Vikings Club is a well laid out sports club with a lot of room and plenty of parking with Disability access and parking as well... They have 3 good-looking lawn bowls greens with 3 tennis courts, and the tennis courts to what I read need to be booked with reception... The staff at the entrance he was a great bloke to have a chat and laugh with, and the rest of the staff we dealt with were very friendly, a welcoming place... Good size pokes room, and I can say the whole club was very clean and tidy! Down to the Nitty greedy why we attended the Vikings Club was for a birthday lunch with a very close friend! Unfortunately the club lost 1 star with me because of the food and I can say it was the same reason with the other 2 friends I attended to the club with, The food you could say it was ok, I had salt and pepper squid great pieces of squid but no favour, the dipping sauce was tasty... The main meal was the chicken schnitzel with Diane sauce and veggies, I do believe if you are cooking this meal every day, it should be spot on. The chicken schnitzel could've been cooked just a little long, and the veggies were hard, so yes, they most definitely should've been cooked longer! Overall, it was a good experience.

The club is good but the food really lets it down. It's unappetizing and the cafe food is dry. I've started waiting to eat till I go home after Thursday raffle nights or heading across to the southern cross club for a feed.

Staff were friendly but we still did not enjoy our cold veges and TINY little thin Garlic Bread!! What is going on...?? come on up your game and give us REAL garlic bread, with thick bread and properly lathered with the butter and toasted just right....sigh!! Quality is slipping.....

Sons 21st dinner. Our meals were excellent. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. Made it a great night.

Seem to have more staff again , food and menu improved , recent Sunday roasts have been good. Service always good.

Pretty good club bistro, have dined here many times over the years and have attended private function here with meals which have been good. There is generally only a small wait and food comes out quickly once ordered. A bar is conveniently located in the dining area and also in the lounge and gaming areas and has a great selection of drinks. This venue has great views across to the nearby hills and mountains and was one of my regular local spots to stop with friends for drinks and socialising when I lived locally many years ago. Staff have always been friendly and helpful here. Great place to eat with family and groups of friends and a great place to socialise with friends in the lounge area.

Ordered scotch fillet which came out raw. Asked for it to be cooked. Received a new steak which was a rump and as tough and gristly like a boot. Vegetables were fine. This is the second time that I’ve had terrible steak there. The cuts of meat are terrible and the chef can’t cook a decent steak. Dad had lamb cutlets and they were tough and fatty. We will change back to the Southern Cross club instead from here in.

Nice venue overlooking some bowling greens. The food was OK, but the roast was better at Lanyon Vikings! 4/5 stars.

Never had a meal here that wasn't awesome and the staff just bend over backwards to help and are just so nice. Thank you!

Myself and my partner went for the steak and schnitzel night the other week. We will never get food there again. For starters my partner orders his steak medium rare. Comes back well done like I'd eat it. The kitchen staff told the young lady serving it was because the steak was under the heat lamp for 2 minutes while we got back to our table. This poor staff member was worried we would get angry at her. But we didn't. Then to top it off my chicken was dry and the salad was literally shredded carrots on a bit of lettuce. If I had a chance to have a go at the kitchen staff I would have. But they wouldn't speak to me.

Make sure you check your chicken before eating…my kiev was raw inside. The staff refunded my meal at my request and offered free drinks but I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. A real shame the chef let the front of house team down. Wouldn’t recommend.

Josh and the team in the Bistro go above and beyond every time we visit. The food is top notch club food but the service is next level. We always feel important, valued and are treated a friends always. Keep up the great work thank you 🙏

I've been a member of Vikings Town centre for over 10 years. The food has always been great. 6 weeks ago my wife and I had dinner at Vickings it was a great experience- excellent service and great food. On Sunday 9 Jul 23 we returned with our daughter and her child and had the Sunday roast special with apple strudel. We asked for Beef, Lamb and Pork. The meal arrived most uninviting. The Beef was cut thick and was fatty and grisly. The Lamb and Pork were nicely sliced and good quality. The vegetables were roast pumpkin, potatoes, far to many peas and what appeared to be a very dry piece of Yorkshire pudding. We had to order a bowl of steamed vegetables to supplement the meal. The apple strudel came in a cup with the smallest amount of luke warm custard with the rest very cold. All in all very disappointing as I no they can do better. If you advertise a traditional Sunday roast then that's what you deliver. Cheers David

I rate this joint highly. The staff are on point. I’d like to make a specific shoutout to Edward. He is not only an amazing operator (never stops moving) but he knows the patrons well. Knows me by name, knows my beer and goes above and beyond. He literally came and dropped my membership card in the machine I was playing because he found it elsewhere. The whole team are great, Ian manages well, Laura is so much fun, Beau is a great young lad. Eleni holds the door well too. Such a community atmosphere and the food is awesome! Grab a toastie if you’re hungry, they’ll make it happen. Best Vikings out of the 4

I don't want this to take away from the staff themselves, they were awesome and as accommodating as could be. It was advertised as $15 snitty and steak night, it was $15 snitty OR steak night and also it's members only... You've gotta really search for that fine print. The snitty itself was small (150gm?) But the pepper sauce was excellent. Beers are expensive if not a member, I would say if you're from out of state it's not worth a visit.

Highly disgusted in the level of service received. Each time when ordering at the bar we had to prompt the four male staff serving for glasses. Then to see one of them walk around dramatically kick a chair in place reinforced the unprofessionalism. Very poor customer service. Even when our table was cleared by the wait staff during our meal was rude, reaching over people inappropriately without manners was disgusting. Management needs to clearly get on board & train their staff.

Had the seafood platter recently for Good Friday lunch. It was excellent, the hot selection was cooked to perfection, the cold selection was very fresh. The portions were generous with the ideal variety of items. Staff were very attentive the food came quickly - all in all a five-star experience. Thank you BaaMoo.

Had dinner there and it's a nice family environment. I ordered the Chicken Kiev and it was fine . I added the sides of potato bake and salad and that was good too. If you're looking for a casual dining experience with the family and friends, it's definitely suitable.

Everything was perfect. Our family birthday meal was perfect, from the table booking through to leaving the carpark. The meals and hospitality were top-shelf. Highly recommend the Texan parmi.

A well located club with great staff and well priced food and drinks. Beautifully lit carpark is special to see at night
