Worse calamari I’ve ever eaten and so overpriced. $23 for 4 little strips and then was soggy and not at all nice and $25 for 2 little squares of pork belly. Outrageous

Went to RSL to celebrate my 54th birthday with some family members and the food was bad ..
From soggy fish pieces ( cheap frozen hoki I think) small portions of pork belly, a salad best described as 95% lettuce) undercooked pizza which couldn't eat, and even grandsons cheeseburger was not nice.. the two best items were the watery cheap cola and the chips..
What a disappointing overall experience.
The RSL should be ashamed of the quality of the food they dished out..
A trip to McDonald's would have been better..
Probably best to avoid the RSL if possible.
I won't be renewing my membership after this poor experience.

We love the restaurant. Only wish they had a small seniors menu. My Million year old Mum hates large meals and hates wasting food. My husband and I love the portions. So you can't please everyone all the time. It certainly has a great variety. The bar upstairs has very friendly helpful team members. Our first time visiting was only a week or 2 ago and we have been 3 times already. Cheers

We go often for a good hearty meal at reasonable prices. GF options on menu.

Was good till had dinner, the meal was all strong tomato paste. I make better spaghetti Bolognese sauce at home. I'd give it a 1 for meal.

Very bad customer service. Staff were extremely rude and non responsive. Our meals were incorrect 3 times and still wrong.
It's a shame as this place was nice when it was upstairs. Won't be going back again.
Can't cook a steak
Claims freshly crumbed steak. Came straight out of the freezer.
$500 table received very poor service

The staff are fabulous and the food is delicious! A great place to meet, play bingo, dance and remember the fallen.

The gaming area is set up pretty good.
The drinks are too pricey - cans of soft drinks $6.40 for non members.
Rtd spirit cans-$14+ for non members.
Food was also pricey considering the quality of meals.

Such an honour to receive this 3rd place trophy at the RSL Show n Shine today. Always a good day, but this made it very special. In honour of veterans mental health week... great day 🙂 in stoked!

RSL use to be a great venue to watch NRL but the the sound is low when watching the big screen and the staff don’t seem to care. I advise people to look at alternatives to get game atmosphere.

RSL Townsville was great.
Good meal, didn't have to wait long.
Much better than RSL Thuringowa- never going back. Terrible!

Regular attendees for Tunes on Tuesday. Space environment with live music. Hundred plus people usually present at the event, mostly elderlies, people with disabilities and support workers. Raffle ticket lucky draw of 20 prizes is on as well. Food and drinks are affordable and membership card need to be presented upon purchases. One accessible bathroom, an ATM, a toy gaming machine, a snacks vending machine are available.

Pretty disappointing. As a visitor to Townsville I would not recommend. We chose an RSL specifically for a roast meal. Asked for a roast of the day with chips and vegetables for my friend and a pizza for myself. We didn't complain when chips and salad came out because we feel uncomfortable complaining about food. We get roast meals out quite often and this one was very disappointing. While eating I get my notification from the bank and I notice I am charged more than I expected. It's just a few $$$ per meal but get the menu to double check. Now I know clubs usually offer members discounts but this menu was just priced for members and apparently visitors are just charged more. No price for visitors and one for members like most normal clubs.
I feel like visitors are not welcome.
My pizza was huge. It should have been advertised as for two. Way too much for one person so I asked for a takeaway box which pretty much everyone who orders would need. I was handed 2 plastic containers and left to man handle half a pizza into them with my hands. The same guy who took my order bought the containers out so I mentioned the salad and he apologized and said he was unsure why it came out wrong but asked if I wanted to speak to a manager. Well the 20 minuite online conflict resolution course this "manager" did was obviously a waste of time. No sincere apology or even understanding of why I was upset. Just excuse after excuse 😔

Omg what a day, we visited this year on Anzac day and the place was pumping. The 2up in one section was as amazing sight and the sound was out of this world. The food was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful even though they were under the pump with the large crowds.

Lunch time visit. Huge dining area in the restaurant. Not busy and quiet. Very friendly staff and excellent food. Menu has lots of variety. Bit on the pricey side though, especially if you're not a member.

Lovely food. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. Very accommodating for functions. You can take a cake. They cut it for you. The blooming teas are amazing and pretty. High teas are worth the money.

It's about time the RSL Townsville changed its menu.. Clients always complaing of the same old menu.. and the quality of the food could be improved. The only good thing was the introduction of the senior meals ..

I ordered the Roast of the day which was Roast chicken and veggies with gravy. I thoroughly
enjoyed it very much. So tender and juicy. The staff were friendly, polite and service with a smile. I would happily go there again. Thankyou. 🙂

I’d be ashamed to serve up the meals they gave my husband and I. My husband’s schnitzel was over cooked to dark brown and dry. The menu said gravy was included but none came so when we asked for it the girl wanted to charge us additional. My fish was terrible. Dry rock hard batter with very little fish inside. The chips for both meals were cold. We asked for fresh ones so they gave us one serve to share. The prices were more expensive than we usually pay at an RSL and I have never been charged more at any other RSL for not being a member. Oh and the salad was a joke. We will never return. Shame because the girl on the front desk as you entered the building as lovely. The food however was the worst I have ever had at any RSL in Australia.
PS The dark lump on the plate at the back of the third photo was my husband’s schnitzel!

Food was perfect. Loved the portion sizes, food was cooked perfectly, didn't have to wait too long, lighting is good. Husband had roast pork meal, I had chicken schnitzel with veg and mushroom gravy.

First time at the RSL Townsville as I am here on holidays and I loved it! Great food and amazing staff - especially Chloe - she was awesome :)

Brought the family here for dinner. Food was good, but cost quite a bit more than you would expect from an RSL bistro.

attended a function there at the weekend. Food and service were superb. Only gripe was the price of drinks which, to my mind, were more expensive than the local pub.
