We have been having a group meeting every two months for a number of years now. Today we we were told you could only have one side dish with the meal. Chips or salad or vegetables. Even though the staff and venue are great, we won’t be back.

Until yesterday we loved going regularly to the bowls club and enjoyed our meals there. However, the menu got changed to have only one side with your steak, schnitzel or fish. This means chips OR salad OR veggies. To have chips and salad with my Parma, I would need to order an extra salad. We were unaware of this (and never came across a restaurant doing that)and my meal arrived with chips only.
We waited for almost an hour for our meals. While my husbands steak was very nice, my Parma was very dry and some parts of it way too crunchy.
Also, Parma night changed to Burger night.
I’m afraid we will not return.

To start with there are multiple menu's in line so be careful. I ordered crispy beef stir-fry which wasn't crispy and had next to no flavour. My daughters could cook a better stir-fry at 10yr old. Certainly won't return. 🤮

This is an extremely impressive venue from both a bowls point of view and and from a restaurant & gaming point of view.
Bowls facilities are world class accomodating a full size indoor rink and out door rinks which would easily live up to a venue that can host world class tournaments. The restaurant has a large floor area accomodating heaps of tables of various configurations. The restaurant menu has a large selection of meals also catering for seniors and vegan customers, the prices I found were quite reasonable and the meals tasty and filling. The staff were very friendly & helpful. There is also a gaming machine, lounge & public bar area. Well worth a visit if ever in the area. 👍🏻👍🏻

The worst burger I’ve every had, not only was it tuff but also taste terrible, could not have a worse burger very disappointed, chips were good

Such a wonderful venue for my mothers 90th birthday. Everyone was so helpful. Great service, lovely meals. Would highly recommend this venue

My roast meal the meat was very thin & dry the vegetables were raw potatoes, broccoli & beans were raw not a very nice meal very disappointed.

My Husband and I went there for Dinner and had a lovely meal. Staff very friendly and helpful thankyou :)

MASSIVE IMPROVEMENT: Have been going to the Traralgon Bowls Club for many years now and the meals have always been great, however, at the beginning of this year we attended a few times and the meals took well over 45 mins to arrive, were very dry and burnt and overall very awful (to be honest). HOWEVER.....In the last few months, the meals have improved to a whole new standard, the timeliness has improved, and it is back to being a very enjoyable place to go, eat and socialise. This is evident by the amount of people that are now going back there. The staff (especially Emily who we have only recently encountered, but really find incredibly nice) are super friendly and receptive and the meals are absolutely beautiful. Yesterday we had the parma, the chicken curry (chefs special) and the lamb shank and all of the meals were absolutely delicious. Highly recommend.

Had joined to support a local club. Staff always polite but I'm afraid the last visit for dinner was a disappointment and a waste of money. Grilled fish was rubbery and tasteless, inedible. Not everyone wants to eat battered & fried food so opted for the grilled option. Kitchen staff need to think more creatively, doesn't have to be bland and straight out of the freezer. Husband had lamb souvlaki which was at least edible but shoving the lamb and chunky salad
into a slice of pita didn't really do it.
Don't think we'll be back. Mediocrity is just not good enough in this day and age.
Money is tight and not worth wasting on a meal that is not an enjoyable experience.

Great place if you like bowls, beer and gambling. Food is good, outside grass green wasn't too flash but the crispy pork belly bites made up for it.

Great menu, very decent prices, gets really busy and is clearly a favourite with locals. Food is alright, but odd selecting where you have to request salad as an extra for things like the chicken parma or steak...??? Would've thought it'd be something like chips and salad, or chips and veggies, but you have to choose from either chips or salad or veggies...
Fettuccine carbonara was bland - not much flavour and the bacon didn't add anything to it. Fast and friendly service, plenty of parking.

Great meal had by all 4 people in our group. Will highly recommend the seafood platter. The garlic prawns were very nice. As was the chicken Parma and chicken schnitzel. Great service and nice atmosphere. Will definitely return

Great environment, friendly staff and fantastic value. Despite being very busy, the food came out very quick and was delicious.
Although it's a big venue I recommend you book.

Great and yummy food 🍲 . Had a good eater. Excellent customer service and great atmospheres. Had creamy garlic prawns which was so good and kids had yummy chicken parmigiana. Value for money and excellent portion. Highly recommended.

Friday's are very busy, may take a bit of time to get your meal. Otherwise great atmosphere!

Food was great, service was excellent, my mum got sick not long after we ordered and they brought out a take away container so we could take it home, couldn't ask for better service.

Food is mediocre, nothing comes out together. We had 7 at the table, our meals scattered out over 30mins, not good enough. There’s clearly a problem in the kitchen if you can’t complete a whole table at the same time….
Three of us had completely finished before the next lot came out.
That’s our last time driving all that way for that service 😔

Food and service is great. However, if you need cash out from the atm, they only allow $200.00 per transaction. The club actually controls how much money you can take from the atm. Anything over that you need to make another transaction. That's disgusting to say the least.
Unless you are a member, you are not able to purchase take away drinks to take back with you to your accommodation.
Won't be back in a hurry.

Excellent meals and service. Meals are very large, great value. Very nice environment with a range of seating to suit anyone. Everything was very clean and hand sanitisers were everywhere. Close to the end of the Rail Trail, glad we stumbled on this club while looking for somewhere to have lunch.
Bowls areas looked fantastic. Indoor and outdoor greens.

After sightseeing in and around Traralgon, I decided to have dinner at the local bowling club.
I ordered the Fisherman’s Plate which had fish, prawns, squid etc all beautifully served with breadcrumbs or batter. Delicious!!!

2 years ago the service was great and the meals came out close together but recently the service has been slow and patchy with meals not coming out together. On our recent visit for dinner we were informed meals either come with veges or chips and not both and will need to purchase separately if want both. Also snitzel night is now burger night which we aren't pleased about. Upon all of the above being said we will be trying out different venues for want of a better experience.

2 stars because the food was decent otherwise a very average experience, largely thanks to a young lady working who’s name I didn’t get but has a treble clef tattoo (possibly, unsure) on her neck.
She was ridiculously rude to my pop who was trying to have a polite laugh about how well she was carrying plates and surely she couldn’t juggle more.
Her response which we thought was a joke at the time was.. “well I won’t come back to the table until you’re gone then”.
After about 20 minutes with two plates still waiting to be cleared away, my pop decided to apologise incase he offended her in any way only to be shrugged off and told she doesn’t care and wasn’t avoiding the table (there were only 3 other tables with guests at the time).
He apologised again to get no response and a shrug of the shoulders.
Won’t be back anytime soon, talk about piss poor customer service, especially to an elderly person who was in no way rude or out of line with his “joke”.
People have bad days but if you can’t put on a fake smile and a few nice words or even just not be a rude then don’t work in hospitality.
