About Victoria Hotel

Worst dining experience I have ever had!
Ordered 2 scotch fillets, both with surf and turf and pepper sauce
45 mins had gone by and people who ordered after us had gotten their meals before us so we went to ask and they had only just started cooking it, after an hour the food came out. 1 steak was missing the surf and turf and the other was missing the pepper sauce. So I asked if I could get the surf and turf as that’s what I had ordered, waitress told me she had made a mistake and pressed the wrong button and that’s why I didn’t get the surf and turf. And that if I wanted the surf and turf (which I had asked for) I would have to go up and pay an extra $8. And I asked if they would give me it for free considering the meal had taken an hour and she said no. So I paid the extra $8 and my meal was taken away and brought back after another 5 mins. They forgot the pepper sauce so I had to go back up to the counter to get that. After we ate no one came up and spoke to us with an apology or any attempt to rectify the horrible service we had.

Went for dinner on Monday night, 20 Jun 2022 good service but the meal was dreadful and served on cold plates. No staff... 60 minutes to get a steak and other guests continually going to the counter chasing meals.

We had a great experience staying at the Victoria Hotel. Ron found our group of 6 people rooms to stay in at very short notice after our other accommodation canceled. He could not have been more helpful or welcoming. Highly recommend staying here and thanks to Ron for a great stay!

Very impressed with this hotel for the price. Clean and modern bathroom. Lounge room has a great amount of milk and coffee with heaps of biscuits (that’s important).
Morning sun hits the balcony, which is great while enjoying your coffee and trying to wake up.

Very impressed with our recent overnight stay. Basic, but clean, comfortable and quiet room. Well stocked communal sitting area. In a perfect location in the main street. Wonderful, welcoming staff. Breakfast was an added bonus and was delicious and a very generous serving. Will definitely stay there again.

Three of us dined at the VIC and had a variety of meals and each qualified for excellent rating were fairly priced adequate servings and done by most pleasant staff whether at ordering service on at end of process.

This is a great old pub, breakfast was good and this made it great value. There was a band playing but the noise was off in the distance from our room. I recommend staying here as it is a great location. The balcony upstairs was a nice place to sit with a cuppa.

The room was very basic but all they we needed to sleep for the night the pub provided free cooked breakfast which was much better than what I expected the lady cooking was really welcoming and cooked a nice brekky would stay again

Stayed two nights here for $220, including cooked and continental breakfast. Very quiet despite our room overlooking the main road. Has good a/c and cable tv, with a tea room in the common area. Very convenient location.

Some staff were lovely, but when I checked in there was a miserable lass who was quite grim. The air conditioning didn’t work and needed re-booting. The room was ok, and the complimentary breakfast was fine. Overall, I felt for the place…. they’re trying to make a go of it.

Pub was moderately busy but not noisy. 5 meals cost $130 so not too expensive. Quality of service was excellent and our meals came in about 35 minutes. I had a veal parmigiana and it was spot on. Someone had the seafood basket and it included a couple of magnificent fresh prawns. No complaints elsewhere. Don't know about bar prices, I had my kids with me and for once I didn't have to shout.

Popped into the Ole Vic for a frothy last Tuesday with a few friends as I'm from Sydney and stayed for lunch. I thought it was outstanding and very fairly priced . Had the cutlets which is a must when I visit the bush. Nice little affordable wine list also .........well done. !!

One of the best country hotels we've stayed at. 4 times. In central CBD Griffith and easily accessible to local wineries. All rooms with ensuites. Larger for couples: Rooms 7,9,12 and 14. Great food and drink and a fantastic full country breakfast included. Excellent staff also. Highly recommended. David and Penny.

On a weekday this is a quiet pub with a great bistro. Simple food done really well. Recommend the lamb cutlets. I'll be back again next time I'm in town.

Ok ive always know the Vic to hav awesome meals , jus the last 2 times ive been , themeals have been either very fatty , or jus not very nice for a mail meal , which is not cheap , apart from that its great dinning out there ,

Lunch in the bistro was hugely disappointing. Potato bake was so salty it was inedible. Peas were hard. Garlic bread was burnt to charcoal in places, and the gravy was beyond lumpy, it was more chunks than gravy. I think they need a new Sunday cook.

I remember the Vic hotel BEFORE it was renovated. It was renowned as the Bikers pub. You only ever went in there if you wanted to get yourself punched out. It looks 100% different now compared to what it used to look like. It is a hell of a really nice pub now. But it was a nice pub back then too. You just had to watch your step and try not to upset anyone.

I had a family meal here and both desert and main wasnt appetising. U had a seafood stack main. The fish was over cooked and smelly and the sauce accompaniment was too salty. The dessert left much to be desired. Must have been a bad hair day. I enjoyed my recordalig cider beer. Yum

I'd give 4 stars, but I requested to check out at 11 AM (check out time is 10) , and I was denied saying "the second floor is quiet" or something like that that doesn't make any sense to me. Thumbs down about customer satisfaction. They deny a reasonable request when obviously it's possible (many rooms are empty).

Have stayed regularly here over the last six years for business. Sadly the frontline hospitality here is now non existent, the hotel has a militant approach to covid 19 and has forgotten that they are in fact in the business of hospitality. We will seek alternative accommodation options now as the service is below par and frankly unacceptable.

Had dinner here. Standard pub food and if that's what you are looking for, this is the place. The rump steak was cooked as requested. The chicken parmigiana was really nice as chicken was still juicy and tender. Food and drinks reasonably priced and staff all friendly.

Great location, Value for money, close to all the shops and restaurants. Friendly staff, check in and check out fast. The room had everything we needed, clean, good shower pressure. Dinner and Breakfast great, we would stay again. However I wouldn't recommend for someone with limited mobility as there are stairs to the 1st floor and no lift.

Don't stay here if you are looking for accommodation. Noisy and low quality with almost dangerous inattention to guests. Plumbing is so bad it sounds like a plane taking off when anyone, anywhere turns on a tap. And that's morning and night. Plus the band plays well past midnight in the pub below and you are locked out with no where to reach staff. The phone goes unanswered - what if there was a fire? No idea, they are partying and could not care. Don't stay here.

Don’t overlook this pub, fantastic meal, best in a 10 day roadie across NSW. Engaging staff, helpful and good bar service.

Couldn't be happier with the Victoria Hotel, staff where accommodating and friendly. Meals and our Room where great and well priced. How an Australian pub should be. Keep up the good work Terry and staff.

Clean / Staff and Patrons are excellent. Food the best East of Perth. 6th visit... All of Griffith CBD is within walking disatance and Cabs arrive promptly if you need to go elsewhere.|Have met many travellers from all over the world. Well worth a visit. Did |I| mention the food....Guarantee you cannot eat a full plate. Dean.

Ate here for dinner and it was okay. Were quite a few people here eating so we figured it would be good for a meal. Service was good and plenty of food. Not the most attractive country pub but worth stopping in for a drink and a meal.

A reasonable pub tidy and clean, but ordinary food borderline on badly prepared, but the service and friendliness from staff is good. Beer is well priced and cold, which it should be for a pub. It's a mixed bag which means there's better places to go to in Griffith.

A good old pub! Staff is great, spacious place with a good selection of drinks. I go there often and food is always great, big meals so you won't go home hungry. Pokies inside/outside, regulars who go there are friendly as well - you'll always find someone to have a chat with. They forgive you and let you know if you are getting too loud and don't kick you out straight away if you stumble for a second for whatever reason unlike some other pubs in Griffith where you might catch the carpet with your toes and get kicked out for "being too drunk" while being the sober driver. Become a member and get your second beer for free every day mate!

A 2 night last minute stay at Hotel Victoria, easy quick check in, friendly,helpful staff, clean big room, nice big shower, nice touch of coffee/tea/biscuits in the area near rooms. Excellent complimentary breakfast with 4 choices...well cooked . Overall very happy , would stay there again ,Good Value
