You get a good meal here. If you’re going for a show at the Q then this is close handy and has a large range of offerings. Value for money.

We were trying to have dinner there last Wednesday. The queue to order was about 15ppl long; they had a trainee (assuming she was a trainee based on not knowing much of what was happening) taking orders by herself with paper and pen. She had to go back to the kitchen to check on things because she didn’t know the answer. Eventually, someone came out to help her. Another staff member walked past and said, “Oh shizzz”, seeing the chaos and walked away. We left after waiting for 15 minutes, watching the chaos of incompetence.
We stayed for a drink and saw people waiting at least 45 minutes for food.
Use technology for ordering. Either technology at the counter or one of those QR technology so we can sit at a table with our friends, not queuing for a long time.

We went to Walshes Hotel for Mother’s Day lunch. They never fail with their menu and meals. Schnitzel’s second to none so tender and tasty.

We went here with friends for dinner on a week night and although the outside of the pub didn’t look appealing to me, (the 2 guys we were with were fine with the look, but it looked rough and a little Wharfy ish to me!) we went in. My thoughts didn’t improve when once inside we had to walk through the main bar but once we made it to the Bistro (and I’m sure there are other entrances we could have used) we were very pleasantly surprised. We were greeted by the politest young man, who explained the Menu and process of ordering our meals and got us seated. While waiting for our meals, the Bistro filled up very quickly with mostly young couples and families, putting my mind at ease, because it couldn’t be that bad with all of these people coming in, and by the looks of it, they were mostly locals. When the meals came out we were gob smacked at how big they were, and very tasty too. I would not hesitate to recommend Walsh’s Hotel for a meal, the service at the bar was awesome too.

We went for a meal. It was delicious and the service was very good. It was a Saturday night, so it was crowded and noisy, but you have to expect that.

We have visited the bistro/restaurant several times and the food is always a consistently high quality we have had family birthday celebrations and our food came at the same time. Waitresses are friendly and very helpful I highly recommend this restaurant

We got the simple chicken snitty with mash and gravy with a side of garlic bread. It was really really good, nothing simple about it. Lots of good gravy and garlic bread bread was best I have had. Would come here again!

We found our reserved table. Had to search for menus. Lined up at 6.30pm to order. Took about 10mins to get to the front of the queue. We could hear the till buttons beeping, like a supermarket checkout from the 80's. Ordered a $40 reef and beef. When we asked for chips and salad they added $5 for each salad. We questioned the price and the girl pulled out the calculator. Ok.. $5 extra for salad, forget the salad. Meals arrive, all seafood was crumbed except prawns and mussels. Who wants crumbed crab? It was like a seafood schnitzel on a rump steak on top of soggy chips. Overall disappointing 😔

Walsh’s is one of the better pubs in town with great food and cheap comfortable rooms. Just be warned that Friday and Saturday night is extremely loud from the nightclub in the back until 1:30am. Apart from that all good.

Very much the local pub. Staff were friendly .
Good outside area if you are a smoker, ladies bathrooms needed a bit of attention, but then it is a busy pub, so take that into account.
Separate pokie area for the smokers, if that's your thing.

Used to be a great meal
I used to eat here regularly, but the last 2 times I've been my oysters were burned and so was the steak, so the last time i got veal schnitzel, on my plate were 4 pieces of meat each one a little larger than a box of matches, a few leaves of baby spinach on a bed of lumpy mash for $28 bit of a rip off. My friend had oysters from the specials board at some ridiculous price like $8 or $9 each, the first one she ate was undercooked and off, when she asked for a refund they refused. Not sure if they've changed chefs but while the service is good the food has definitely gone downhill which is a shame as it used to be a great meal, perhaps if u are drinking u don't notice, i don't drink so i know if my food is good or not.

Travelling alone for an Easter event at the Showgrounds next door, I found the accommodation excellent value for money. I chose the no-bathroom option, which turned out fine as I think I was the only female that did so, the share bathroom was pretty good. Even a heater light! I had room 6, which looked like the photos and had everything I needed. I was there for a Saturday night, and yes there was live music, but I worked with it, doing my research and paperwork for the following day until it finished around midnight. Maybe chose a room facing the street if you get a choice and the music might bother you. I barely saw any of the other guests, until the last day. Heard the odd door close at night but other than that slept well. Good security for after hour access, pass card for both the 2 entrances plus the room. You will need to get your baggage up a flight of stairs, but sensor lights and good railing came in handy for that. I would stay again and recommend.

This pubs keeps the traditional vibe of Queanbeyan alive. Best pub meals out of all three of the monopolised qbn pubs by whoever owns these establishments. Great meals decent service and a good selection of pokies. Drinks with a healthy dose of banter.

There is some excellent staff there but also some that are not... amazing food though a bit expensive.. but you can enjoy the pool table

The food is not as good as it used to be. I ordered a parmi which i have never ordered from there before and it came with onion on it which it doesn't state on the menu, unfortunately I can't eat onion and when I mentioned it to the young waitress she says "well that's just how it comes, Been that way for years" and then she walked away. She never offered to replace it just expected me to take off the onion which was all all under the melted cheese. Needless to say I couldn't eat it. A parmi to me is sauce ham and cheese, I've never known it to be with onion. So i thought I picked safe. This young girl was quite rude. The staff there have always been super nice and friendly. It really was a shame and put a damper on the evening.

The food has a real interesting mix of flavours - worth a try if you're into fusion flavours and generous portions. The bar staff were super friendly!

Thanks to the team, I had an excellent stay over the week end.
The food & the service at the hotel and the restaurant was good.
I will recommend it to anyone who needs an accommodation in the area.

Stopped in for lunch midweek ||Staff were very friendly & talkative ||Ordered the Chilli beef pasta with King Prawns ||OMG the taste & flavour was amazing , How all the strong Flavours worked together mmmmmm||Price was around $26 but I think was well worth it.||I will return next time I’m in Queanbeyan to try something different

Sneaky to charge and pour people large sized wines when ordering a wine without asking. Ordered a wine, realised it was quite big and later that I had been charged $19 for it, the price was annoying when I hadn’t ordered this but it was more the cheekiness of doing this when I hadn’t asked for it and when I was driving as I needed to monitor how many drinks I was having. |Definitely not ok/dangerous to the person driving for the bar staff to be serving people 1.5 standard drinks when they ask for a glass of wine when they haven’t requested the big size just to sneak a few extra dollars into the business.

ONLY ONE VEGITARIAN OPTION FOR MAINS. Including the specials board, the only vego mains is the wanton parcels. For $28 a plate I left hungry. They are apparently served with "seasonal vegetables", but these never arrived. You need to diversify your menu. A salad wouldn't hurt. I won't be returning.

My partner and I have had dinner twice now at Walsh’s Hotel, and we have to say that our meals were the best food we’ve ever had in Queanbeyan!
The chicken supreme and lamb shanks from the specials menu were superb!
Great friendly atmosphere and service, definitely recommend calling in for a drink or a meal if you’re in Queanbeyan.

Music Bingo night is a heap of fun. The food is expensive but delicious. Its hard to participate in the game when there is a massive wall in the middle of the bar though. But overall, a fantastic local pub.

Meal was amazing. Portion size is enough for a meal and doggy bag for lunch the next day!!!!. Specials board take some time to read through though very well worth it. Had to wait for well over an hour for our meals on a Wednesday night. More positives than negatives. Will definitely be back.

Lunch was horrible, we left most of it. There was a celebratory girls sports team function (under-age) which is fine, but they kept coming into the pub main area and screaming. It was rediculous. We left & went to another pub. Looked like many other did the same thing.

I went in here to check their counter lunch. I was expecting the place to be fairly quiet, it seemed so from the main street. It was packed! The place was buzzing with diners. $20 got me a great lunch and $7.70 got me a schooner of beer. Would recommend!

I simply cannot praise this venue enough. The restaurant is 5 star consistently EVERY SINGLE VISIT! Both the restaurant and bar staff are so lovely and obliging. Recently we held an afternoon wake with around 100 people. The food was incredible, and towards the end of the afternoon I needed a table for about 20 of us who remained at the venue for dinner without a booking. Taylor was just amazing and said she would move heaven and earth for us, which she did. This made a very sad and emotional day so much better for us. Thanks Michael and Steve for your amazing kitchen. Mark, you are a super star behind the bar. And special thanks Taylor for being a sweet heart. This is by far my favourite Queanbeyan venue which ticks the boxes every time!

I have stayed here numerous amounts of times and each time the rooms have been immaculate, extremely friendly owners. If you decide to go out they have a courtesy bus running a few nights a week easy way to get around would recommend

Great Food and Service in Restaurant and Bar area great entertainment DJ playing good music, play a game or two of Pool and watch the Football/ Sport on one of the many TV's in the Hotel Sports Bar or sit outside the Beer Garden. Stay upstairs good sized room comfortable Bed 🛌 I paid $90 for my room with bathroom went to bed after music finished good night sleep ticked all the boxes for me I felt completely safe a single woman staying there

Good food, generous portions, good beer and wine to wash it down. Casual atmosphere to kick back and relax with family or friends. Heaps of parking out the back. Bottle shop through the back door if you're after something to take home to party on back there.

Food is always pretty awesome here... if michael is working its guranteed good food.. even if his not its still pretty good.. def recommend for feed one day u wont regret it.. if u ask they will usually change things up for you, u just gotta ask..

Following glowing reports of the culinary delights on offer at "Walsh's" hotel a group of twenty travelled from Goulburn to Queanbeyan yesterday to confirm validity.Recently refurbished in stylish decor all diners were immediately impressed, with the best yet to come.Following pre luncheon drinks a variety of dishes were subsequently ordered with an expected delay due to numbers.All meals arrived via obliging waitresses within a thirty minute time frame & expressions of satisfaction ensued. Prices for the meals from a quite extensive lunch time menu proved popular with a percentage returning home in ubiquitous doggy bags due to the generous portions.Chef Michael can be justly proud of his team & tucker & return visits for our part are guaranteed.Totally recommended.

Fantastic place, ice cold beer. Didn't have a feed but there were a lot of people eating and the meals looked great. Big sports bar where we watched cricket and the bistro was also very big.

Fantastic! Chef happily came out to check my intolerances, and made me an excellent GF/DF/low FODMAP meal with flair and flavour: John Dory grilled with cherry tomatoes, crispy herbs, lime and pepper, elegant side salad and chips. Prices reasonable, staff helpful, pleasant atmosphere for a relaxed weekend lunch.

Couldn't find a pub in Canberra so crossed the border to Queenbeyan. Glad we did because this pub is awesome, great food, live music that wasn't too loud and fun bar staff. It's on our list when we go to Canberra 😊

Basic rooms but clean, ok service but no bistro as we stayed on a monday night, but there are other food options close by. Location was ideal as close to the event we had to attend. Also close to Canberra & airport. Recommended. I will stay again.

Bar staff have have overcharged for beverages on multiple occasions. It’s fair to say Walsh’s have lost my business. $20 + for two beers and a soda water was the last straw!!

Anzac Day - terrible service, no menus, no organisation, paper plates, no cutlery, food was dry and obviously rushed. So disappointed that I recommend this place for an Anzac Day celebration, how embarrassing!

A hidden gem! ||Visiting from the UK, popped over to see relatives in Queanbeyan and found this little gem when we nipped out for dinner.||The food was delicious, the service was with a smile and very helpful. ||We ordered Meatlovers carbonara pasta and Porterhouse steak, both were outstanding, tasty and plentiful!||Great value for money and did I mention, service with a smile, the team you have at Walsh's did you proud (that to the owner/manager), from the lady who took our order, the bar staff and the security team on the door.

A fun way for a Monday night out. A well organised evening. Good meals and well worth a visit if you are in town. Family friendly with plenty of prizes (if you are lucky enough). ||We will be back next week.
