We visit the club for a meal at least once a week, great food and service. We had dinner there on Saturday 26 August my husband accidently dropped one of his meat skewers on the floor. He asked the waitress if he could have another one... she came back within 2 minutes to say the chef would replace it for him. They came back with 2 skewers. Great customer service thanks chef and staff.

Went for family dinner at club's dining area.
Food was quite nice.
Music too loud near dining area.

We had dinner at Sawyers Brasserie after a great game of bowls with our neighbours. The steak, ribs and schnitzels were all delicious. The servings were generous and the service was good too! Super impressed! Thanks to Tom who went the extra mile to help us.

Update September 2021: we have been doing click and collect and I have to say, the food has been great! I would even say better than we have ever had when dining in! Most food was as described, well-presented, very tasty and enough. Well done all at the club! You've done yourself proud during this lengthy lockdown! 💐
Shared a family meal here recently. The check in process was polished, on point and very friendly, including following covid rules.
Our children went into the appropriate older age group room but were out very quickly as there was almost nothing for them to do.
Our waitress was lovely as were the other staff we met.
The food was so-so. The steak was not the quality expected, or such as we have had previously (pre-covid). I really enjoyed the mashed potatoes!
A bit of attention to detail in the Bistro could make a difference.
We will try again.

Tuesday night management and staff are brilliant. Nothing is a problem. Very friendly.

The club has a lost it’s identity. Doesn’t know what it wants to be, obviously upper management have no direction or just does not care about developing a good business. Photos taken at 7:15pm on a Saturday night. No action at all, very uninviting. The club feels dead, does not make me feel that I should be spending any money here at all.
Food isn’t that much to brag about either. Owners change every few months.
Management should look at clubs such as Castle Hill RSL, Pennant Hills Bowling club, The Fiddler etc for a lively experience.

Pricing Disappointment on Mother's Day
$65 PP
I recently visited the West Pennant Hills Sports Club on Mother's Day and had an average experience. While the ambiance and service were satisfactory, I couldn't help but feel disappointed with the pricing.
Firstly, the prices for a single main course and an entree totaling $65 seemed quite exorbitant, especially considering that no drinks were included. I expected a more reasonable pricing structure, as it didn't align with the value I received for the meal. It would have been better if the pricing was more transparent and in line with the quality of the food.
On a positive note, the service was adequate, with the staff being polite and attentive. The ambiance of the club was pleasant, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming. However, it's essential to consider the pricing aspect when evaluating the overall experience.
Despite the disappointment regarding the pricing, I must acknowledge the effort put into making Mother's Day special. The club had a nice setup and offered some enjoyable activities for families. The staff also seemed well-prepared to handle the increased number of patrons on this busy day.
In conclusion, while I appreciated the efforts made by West Pennant Hills Sports Club to create a pleasant atmosphere and celebrate Mother's Day, the pricing for a single main course and entree without drinks included was unreasonably high. I hope the management considers reevaluating their pricing strategy to provide better value for money to their customers.

Nice, small local club - good for a quiet catch up with friends, bistro is good.
Overall, nice not having to deal with the size and casino like feel of the larger RSL clubs

My family and I love the community feel of the club. We often pop in for dinner mid week, as well as, over the weekends with friends. The staff at Sawyers are always friendly and happy to help in any way. The meals are delicious and very generous in size! The chilli prawn pizza, schnitzels, burgers and soft shell tacos are some of our favourites.

I went to Sawyers tonight with my mother, As soon as we arrived the attentive staff welcomed us, saw us to a table for two and brought us water and menus. All the staff were dressed perfectly and well groomed with the kitchen looking extremely clean. Our meals were served quickly and the portion sizes were huge. The quality of the food was brilliant and we attended to during our meals. All the staff here would be an asset to any other company! Finding good service and building up a team which is on point like this is a rare thing in todays service industry! all the staff and whomever is behind this operation should be commended.

I hate giving negative reviews but I have to address this!
This sports club is more concerned with gambling then being more family friendly, way to go in downsizing the kids play area, bloody more concerned about the Chinese games section they play which has 10x more space.
Also, I do not understand why there is so much seating available place is dead as!
Seriously poor effort from management, do not recommend this place until you fix this small problem

If you're vegetarian, don't bother. Choices are both limited and dated. The chef doesn't seem to have heard of halloumi, plant-based meat, beans, soy or quorn. Even at lunchtime with no other customers, he wouldn't fry me an egg. If you're vegan, you have even less choice. On the bright side, and this is why they got a second star, the rest of the staff are lovely

Had an amazing dining experience at Sawyers. The food was exceptional, and the service provided by Andrew Rogers was outstanding. Highly recommended!

Good meal before Wednesday trivia. Beef burger was very good, as was the Godfather parmigiana. Fast service.

Food was pretty good and service was quick. The portion sizes for how much you pay is definitely on the smaller side.

Came in with my family for dinner tonight, couldn’t have asked for a better service and good quality food. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back again.

Bistro was very slow, and food is overpriced. kids play area has been reduced to a tiny box. Used to love the old play area.
We waited 20 minutes to put our food into order as they locked themselves out of their cash register.
The only person there that day that had a smile on his face was the man serving the food.
Staff serving behind the bar were sick and clearly not meant to be there. No friendly customer service at all.
Management need to do better.
When I communicated to them through fb, messages were read but not responded too.

Been a Member for 20+ years but fair dinkum, $9.30 for a XXXX Gold ($8.30 Members). I try to get down there a couple of times a year but will stay local to Hornsby in future. It’s taking the piss when XXXX is $6 at Asquith Leagues, $6 at Asquith Bowling Club & $6.50 at Hornsby RSL. The place is basically a Pokies Den.

A smaller club with nice eatery and gaming. Also sports screens.
Dining is actually quite good.
