We ordered steak as it was Steak Night Tuesday. Fantastic meal and the meat was cooked to perfection. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Went for the unlimited dumplings expecting something akin to Dumpling King. Got 2 initially (1 steamed and 1 fried) and a big plate of rice, prawn crackers, some noodles and a spring roll. A little disappointing but the bain marie made up for it. Ended up having 10 dumplings in total, walked away VERY full. Staff were fantastic.

We held the Legacy Christmas in July at the Tavern. Kudos to the Chef, as the food was delicious. The staff were friendly and obliging and the atmosphere was great.

We haven't been to the Western Tavern for a long time. Am definitely glad we did head there for a meal. Will not be hesitant about going there again!

Very good and quite large meals. Self serve salad and roast well presented. Unfortunately there was a tribe of unsupervised children who were having a wonderful time treating it like a pig trough , piling excessive amounts of food on small plates despite signage.

Venue, service, beer/drinks and food were all very good. Meals were huge servings, quality was good pub grub and priced very well. Only negative was the sauces. Between us we had the creamy garlic (with the prawns), diane, pepper and normal old gravy all low budget packet stuff which has dropped their score by a star.
Apart from that definately worth a second and third visit when we're back in town.

Used to love this place but has gone down hill
Staff started friendly but got quite defensive and rude when I told them my chicken meal was not cooked properly and was still majorly pink but they enforced "thats just how are chicken is cooked), also saw them dump wrong orders on tables then try to pass them off to the correct diners 10 minutes after, they forgot to give steak knife's to nearly every customer (it was steak night) sadly only good thing was the salad bar

Some have had bad things to say about this place. I found it pretty good. I can definitely recommend the lamb shanks. My friend had the rump steak and was well pleased. Pricing was pretty good too.

Service was great, a lady named Julie was so sweet and took such good care of my family. Food was so good and totally worth it. Definitely give it a try if you’re in the area 😊😊

Scrumptious seafoof feast with soda water batter ( compliments to chef) hubby loved his Hawaiian parmi. Cheryl was lovely and make yummy hot chocolates

Really nice place to have dinner with family or friends. We ordered the steak and price is reasonable as well as quality is good. There was a free salad bar which came with any order. Service was superb and the staff were friendly and even gave us complimentary drink refills. Would definitely recommend this place.

My partners band did a gig here last Saturday night.
A great spot for live music!
The staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful and welcoming.
Food was fresh and delicious.
Can't wait to visit again.

Great service and great food!
We pulled out all the stops with entrees and mains. My partner and I were looking for a quiet evening and a yummy dinner, and we got both!
Special shout out to Brittany, what a star! Really friendly, and made our night. =)
Good food options, and fairly good prices too, we'll be coming back soon.

Friday lunch visit & the pub was very quiet in a very large dining room. Staff were friendly.
Good variety of meals & served quickly.
Offer to help yourself to salad bar & additional vegetables.
Hotel on outskirts of Mt Gambier, with lots of carparks.

Food was good and not a bad selection of salad and hot food in self serve warmers.
Only 1 person on service, so serving, cleaning tables etc on her own, one quirk I have is in a little germaphobe, purple let kids run all over the restaurant with really bad sneezes and constantly, then the waitress word the tables without any cleaner only a cloth in this establishment the cutlery is already on the tables in holders exposed to anything airborne
The carpark and entrance are dark, very little lighting.

Booked in for 530. We walked in place looks disgusting! 🤮 we sat down for 2 minutes and walked out! Our menu’s grime over them, the carpets omg they never looked like they have never been cleaned! Place is old and ran down! First time going there and the last looks like you would get sick from the food!
And to the owners you should be ashamed of yourselfs

Attended the venue on a special occasion with family and noticed the kitchen staff or whoever set up the bain maree's and gravy table set it up back to front.
As a hospitality worker of 25 years, this was not planned out well. People lining up to select foods and having to excuse themselves to get to the gravy. Gravy belongs at the end of the line. Its a condiment, as do the bread rolls, salt pepper etc. The salads were average, nothing outstanding. Their was no gluten free option or vegetarian option for those who cannot eat meat or items with wheat in it.
Another thing I also noticed was when I went to the toilet, it was hard to enter the cubicle with the baby change table in the way. My question is, why was it in there, it should have its own space.
And NOT sure whats going on in this tavern, cos my mum whose in a wheel chair had to do her business in the dark because the light didnt work in the wheel chair toilets. I had to use my phone torch to supply her with light. Not happy!!

A group of us went to the Tavern yesterday, we had an excellent meal, the staff werre very professional, the atmosphere was first rate. I would recommend this venue to anyone, thank you for a pleasurable experience.

Absolutely amazing Xmas meal in July. Head chef Jess went above n beyond to meet everyone needs. Definitely eat here again n again loved all the home made food
