Wests Nelson Bay

When it comes to a night on the punt this place has provided the best yet. Between the Mrs and I there was 5 majors in one night. The club is a sea of bricky’s laptops but the drinks are cold and food is good. All round it’s a great club to go!

We ordered Burning ring of fire pizza and prawns pasta for dinner from Bay Brasserie at Wests Nelson bay. Both pizza and pasta were one of the best I had in Australia. It tasted so good although the portions are pretty big.

Well ,day 20 of our holidays and we found it. Our worst dinning experience yet. Seriously Chicken Breast Supreme. Theres was nothing Supreme about this dish. I even doubt it was Breast. The Main ingredient was dry as the simpson desert and the mash had been sitting around since saturday. The veg was no better. Then there was the $25 smokey bbq chicken pizza. Well i never ,this excuse for a pizza was terrible. The chicken was Obviously the last weeks lot of Chicken Supreme deconstructed and put on the thinnest base known to man. Smokey What. I understand A-Club is not a Michelin Star dinning experience but this was pretty ordinary

Visiting the area for the long weekend. I’m over overpriced salads, as this is all people think coeliacs can eat, but still charge the earth. We figured a meal at the local club would be just the ticket… and they didn’t disappoint. As we walk towards the entrance we noticed the staff facing the west and realised, they were observing silence for the ode. (LEST WE FORGET) Upon entry, we were greeted by three staff members who were incredibly friendly and open to having some friendly banter. They really set the tone for a lovely evening. We made our way to the bistro, had a look at the menu and placed our order. The lady who took our order was super friendly, and she knew what was gluten free and didn’t have to dash off to ask the kitchen staff. She was efficient, Knowledgeable and just really pleasant. I ordered the 300g steak (m) with chips and salad, no sauce and an alternative to the salad dressing to make it gluten free. My husband ordered the pork belly w salad and chips. I didn’t go to the bar, but, my husband did and when he came to our table, he said he had a great chat with the barman who was as passionate about beers as he was. I asked for my steak to be medium, and it came out medium. It was perfect. The salad was salad, but it was good with steak and chips. After we finished our meal, we went downstairs to have a drink (I had a pot of tea). The staff there were just as wonderful. I could tell the work culture at this establishment looked to be quite healthy. The staff looked like they wanted to be there and that they enjoyed their work. For those who say the place was packed and they had to wait… yes, that’s what happens when you’re attending places at their peak times. The whole world is understaffed. Be kind to those who’ve shown up. For those who say their food wasn’t exactly as they ordered it… you’re at a bistro with 200 other people, it’s not a 5star restaurant that has 50 guests. For those who say the staff weren’t very friendly, I’m gonna say, it’s You, not them.

Used to have dinner at this place at least two times per year for the last 15 years , never was so unhappy. My husband dish wasn't exactly what we're ordering, definitely not that sauce and uncooked chips. My chicken was warm from top and cold from bottom. The chips uncooked also and actually white colour, not "gold " and of course not crunch. Cucumbers in the salad looks like were frozen, very soft and not fresh. Unfortunately we paid $73, not enjoy at all our dinner and next time will choose probably McDonald instead that place, until you came back on way, how you used to cook before

Travelling from WA to the east coast. Had lunch here today. We loved our meals. Chicken schnitzel with prawns & chicken carbonara. Came out pretty quick and nice and hot. The carbonara was the best I’ve had in a very long time. Wish I took photos it was huge. Would order again.

The food was great, no complaints there. First time in years that i have been to a club that still does the ode. The only thing I found wrong was there were a few people with hats on, and the staff did nothing, didn't tell them to take it off, etc. When questioned, they said yes, its very disrespectful. Spoke to front counter staff on way out and was informed they are allowed to wear hats as it's not an rsl anymore. So why do the ode still. Very disrespectful to all the men and women who fought for our country

The food is terrible. Pasta was so over cooked it disintegrated on the plate and the sauce was 90% sugar. Greek salad was bland and overpriced.

The food is nice and the portions are pretty big. The prices are reasonable. The smoky bbq pizza is great.

The Bay Brasserie Bistro had a fantastic selection to choose from. The price was reasonable and the portions were very large! We had a variety of pasta, pizza, steak, chicken, fish and burgers. The dining area is clean and spacious and the staff are friendly and polite. We will definitely visit again when we come to Nelson Bay 👍

Stopped for a Parma and kids meal. Food was great. Parma chips and salad done really well. Lovely staff and clean and well presented venue with great pub food done well. Thanks see you on our next visit.

Nice cossy place and the food was actually surprisingly good. It was quite pricey but the serving was big. It isn't a fancy restaurant but the place looks like it was recently renovated which made the restaurant a vibrant place to eat. Customer service was also pleasing.

Netty. Was. Here. But disappointing to see the $15 lunch and dinner specials disappear during school holidays. Meals were suitable for a cheap menu but not so impressive for what we paid.

My wife and I again ate at West's, this time for lunch. The food was incredible. Staff were wonderful in the restaurant and the main bar. Customer service was outstanding.

My godson and i recently had dinner here while we were at fingal bay for the weekend . Both meals were very enjoyable and huge portions , my godson had to take the rest of his meal home in a container to enjoy later.

I have dined at nelson bay wests many times for close on 15 years and we returned recently after giving other local restaurants our patronage . I dont normally post reviews however i was so disappointed with my meal . The veal consisted of three tiny , dry , bland pieces of meat that constituted cardboard saturated in cheesy / fatty sauce with mash to pad the meal out And for the price !! - very disappointing . Wests have alot of work to do and please save the standard google response that most people get . As always the bar staff are friendly however as a dining experience , no thanks . Very disappointing experience . .

he ambience and service are fantastic! They create a truly enjoyable dining experience. However, the portions are jumbo sized, much larger than necessary. You definitely want to consider sharing a plate.

Have had lobster mornay upstairs the size of meals was large. The taste was good but the lobster needed to be cooked a bit more.

Great service and cheap beer for members. Lots of nooks to sit in. Food is great upstairs and cheap for members. Also cheap to become a member.

Great food when we got it eventually. Lovely outlook at marina. We waited a long time for our order that our paid parking had expired. Paid for parking an hour and a half.

Great food and not too expensive would absolutly visit again.

Great all round. Highly recommended for food and beverages. A must go to if visiting Nelson Bay and or the surrounds. Hint: buy a Club membership and save.

Good sized meals, 8 prawns in the prawn & pasta, Hawaiian schnitzel good. Staff seemed very friendly but did you really need to put the chairs up on the tables around guests while still eating at 8.00pm??

Friendly staff and a clean family environment BUT the food was horrible with no flavour and over priced. The pizza was the only eatable meal on the day.

Food looked great, but chips were bland (not even chicken salt?) and burger was very plain. Carbonara was OK but nothing to write home about. Even at member pricing, there are better options around for a good meal. However, "it's a meal" and does the job when hungry

Dined here several times with family and friends and everyone agreed, awesome service, exceptional well decorated and clean and the meals were large portion size, great quality, cooked very well and exceptional value. Definitely recommend and suggest joining the club to enjoy the benefits and discounts 😊
