Wild Panda Restaurant in Canberra City holds a special place in our hearts, becoming our preferred dining destination through countless visits. Each time we dine here, we are treated to an unforgettable experience. The "Double Happiness Bowl" stands as our all-time favorite, an incredible dish that blends soy-braised pork and beef into a flavor explosion that leaves us brimming with happiness. It's more than just a meal; it's a heartwarming experience that envelops you in warmth and contentment. The "Popcorn Chicken" is another standout, delivering a delightful burst of flavor and an irresistible crispy texture. Its popularity is a testament to its deliciousness, and it often leads to friendly debates among us for that coveted last piece. Then, there are the "Pork and Prawn Wontons." These little parcels of delight showcase the chef's culinary prowess, combining a medley of flavors and textures that always leave us yearning for more. In addition to these delights, we have a deep appreciation for their noodle dishes. When the days turn chilly, the likes of their signature beef noodle soup and sliced chicken noodle with mushroom soup provide us with not only incredible flavor but also much-needed warmth and comfort. Conversely, when the temperatures rise, the classic chicken cold noodle takes center stage, accompanied by a delightful sesame sauce that provides a refreshing contrast, perfect for a hot day. The friendly staff and exceptional service further enhance our dining experience. The restaurant's cozy ambiance and charming decor create a welcoming and comfortable environment that makes us feel at home. For those in search of an extraordinary dining experience in the heart of Canberra City, Wild Panda Restaurant comes highly recommended. It's a place where great food, excellent service, and cherished memories keep us returning time and time again.

Wild Panda presents itself as a contemporary, youthful Chinese establishment. The décor is bright, white, and open, with big windows letting you watch the world pass by. Modern wall graphics and wooden furnishings provide pleasing highlights for a space which would be otherwise stark. The staff were attentive and welcoming, making sure we were comfortable, and helping us order meals. Ordering is possible as the table via QR code, but why bother when the staff provide a better service. I believe the menu is a modern Beijing style offering rice, noodles, soup, I got the spicy beef wheat noodles which was a filling lunch. The beef was tender. My friend got the mushroom fried rice. It was a simple dish but looked great. We shared some beef dumplings. These were nice but need to be served with vinegar or soup. Overall we had a good experience.

Wild Panda is one of those places where the food quality is just that one step above everyone else. The beef noodle soup, the dumplings, the dry noodles, it hard to go wrong here. But it's the spicy beef noodle soup that is the real standout.

Wild panda is a great little restaurant offering some amazing food. My personal favourite dish here is the pork mince bowl. It takes them like two minutes to bring it out to your table after you order it and it will put a smile on your face.

Went there with friends for dinner and I think we had not too bad experience. Our dishes came out fast with great portions and affordable price. I ordered pork rips in tomato noodle soup and that was okay. However, the signature dish of your restaurant (spicy beef noodle soup) turns out to be so oily that it takes one day to forget that feeling. I know it’s the original taste of chili oil but i think i would ask for the smaller portions of that seasoning ingredients. Anyway, i love the surrounding atmosphere and thanks for the meal.

We had a quick meal here and although self ordering, the food was served very quickly. The menu consists of western Chinese food which can be spicy. Overall, the place was clean and friendly

We come here for delicious Sichuan noodles. It has authentic Chinese flavour - at least that’s what I feel. Staffs are very nice and service is also quick.

Tried the usual dry spicy beef noodle as it'd been a while but things seem to have gotten e en worse. Not spicy at all (even when asking for extra spicy) and the noodles tastes off (sorta like spaghetti or some sort of not very fresh noodles). The accompaniments were average. Just really disappointing to not be able to hit the spicy chongqing noodle itch in civic

This is a favourite of mine in Canberra. Excellent noodle soups. Dumplings are delicious. Rice bowls are so tasty. Just love how they do Sichuan food here. Highly recommend. Don't know what to try? Start with the spicy beef noodle soup.

The food was amazing. I ordered pork ribs in a tomato soup base. The pork ribs were 100/100. Very soft.

So fast. My food arrived before I had sat down at my table. The beef was super tasty and soft. Loved it. Added chilli oil for more spice, but I enjoy that flavour. It was a pleasant, tasty quick dish. Friendly staff

So excited for noodles, but unfortunately our beef soup had a centimetre of pure oil on the surface which meant getting to anything with flavour was impossible. Dumplings were also undercooked and doughy.

Small portion, but prices are average around 16 bucks. Rice and pork dish has too much rice, not enough pork, although yummy melt in your mouth pork. Spicy chicken noodle is ghost sichuan peppers, which gives you a numb tongue. Some people like it, I don't particularly. However the fried chicken on it is very yummy. Still good as I love Asian food, but not the best. It's crowded today because it's the only place open on public holidays!

Service was 2/5 (waitress was abit loss due to she alone for busy lunch) Food was 3/5 (spice chicken noodle was lack of flavor, fish noodle tast fishy and disappointed) Floor was oily and sticky, needs some good cleaning. Price 5/5 (fair price with the portion) Potential was there, would organize revisit

Service is good. Food needs improvement. Intestine was overcooked which destroyed elastic texture and noodle soup was too sour and spicy. The numbness covers original flavour of the food. Really wish they could improve their recipes.

It didnt take long to have the order, which is a plus for the restaurant. However, the dish I had, Spicy Beef Noodle Soup, was fully loaded with oil, which elimimated the flavor of other component in the dish such as the beef, vegetables etc. Not recommend if you are on a strict diet and not into oil dishes.

I love discovering authentic, affordable food- this is one of those times. Meals range from around $13 to $17. Mine was about $17.50, but $2.50 of that was the added extra vegetables. Szechwan pepper was one of the strongest flavours in my dish. It was the perfect amount of spicy for me, because it hurt but I could still taste the beautiful flavour. I say it is authentic based on my limited real experience (I have not been to any part of China), but it feels authentic because of the limited English signage and the flavours in the meal I had. I would recommend coming here if you want to try delicious food that is different to anything else in Canberra!

Highly recommended and highly satisfied, You will not be disappointed. Next to the Subway, best hand made noodles in Canberra, large server and the pricing was perfect and matched the quality, fast service, no need to wait even at peak hours. I ordered the homemade noodles with chili, topped with beef and the food is amazing. Very friendly staff,  Will return to the restaurant for their noodle for sure.

Every now and then, I have to come back here and get my favorite popcorn chicken. I often crave its crispy crunchy coating, thinly cut chicken bites infused with fried basil leaves, such an addictive snack. Also tried the stir fry pork with rice on the new menu, can tell the chef has been putting his heart in generating unforgettable food aroma. Strongly commend everyone to come in and get ready for the ultimate experience!

Decent noodles with good portion size. Tried the spicy noodle with fried chicken. Chicken gets soggy quickly as it is mixed with the noodles. Taste wise, balanced level of spice and hotness.

Cheap Asian eats. Great place for a cheap lunch on dinner Canberra style. Anything more probably try elsewhere. Would recommend more recently as appears they have changed the chef, food is surprisingly more tasty than six months ago. Recommend both the popcorn chicken and vermicelli dishes. As they are licensed, would recommend the owners expanding the range of beverages to include more beers such as Tsingtai or Harbin.

Been a regular here and the quality has always been consistent. One huge advantage is the turnaround time is super fast and you can definitely have quick work lunch if needed. A new system has been introduced so you have to order via scanning so be mindful of that. Apart from that no complaints.

Another fantastic experience at Wild Panda last night. For those of you first timers, you may not know exactly what to order. Popcorn chicken is definitely a must for me, so does the Double Happiness Meal - slow cooked beef and pork meat, super tender and braised with aromatic broth - makes it second to none! Not to mention the classic beef noodles, pork and prawn dumplings, etc.... So settling on which dishes to choose is probably the only challenge here.

Adjusting my review down from 4 stars due to inconsistency in the quality of food. It's very variable. I have had lunch here every week for about 6 months, and it's potluck what I will get, even when ordering the same dish. Sometimes it'll be really salty, sometimes very spicy, sometimes it'll have crunchy chickpeas, sometimes not. Last visit, my noodles were topped with a fried egg which I thought was rather undercooked. I'm fine with runny yolk - I'm drawing the line at eating uncooked egg whites. Despite their "everything is our fault" policy, when I mentioned it to the staff member, she said it was meant to be like that and to try it. I messaged the owner as per his instructions below and he said "different customers like different degrees of how eggs are done". Fair enough - I like my whites cooked enough to not get salmonella, thanks. It's still good value Sichuan food at affordable prices. Portions are generous. Food always arrives very quickly. The dumplings, particularly the vegetarian ones, are excellent.

5 stars alone for consistently fast service. All the times I’ve been here, despite being busy, it never takes more than 3-5 minutes for food to arrive. A great option for students to run to between class 🏃‍♀️ Dishes are always very filling and serve well as a lunch+dinner combo. Definitely go with the small plates if you’re looking for something light. Really great spice levels (marked on the menu) that hit the best on a cold day. A few people have said this spice level varies, so might be better to err on the safe side if you’re unsure. Some may find the noodle soup a bit too oily due to amount of chilli oil, but that’s going to be up to personal preference. A great amount of meat in all dishes makes a difference from other restaurants in the area. The beef was soft and goes well with both the rice and noodle dishes. Will return again the next time I’m looking for a large and affordable meal :)
