What a pleasant surprise! We landed on their doorstep from out of town after a quick google search of local food, and if I'm honest our first impression was "really?". A tavern in a mall is a curious mix and from a style perspective, I'd rather they hung curtains or blacked out the windows to prevent the view of passing shoppers with their trolley loads from Aldi's.
In fact we nearly left, which just goes to show not to judge a book by its cover.
If you are after good, generous pub food, don't go past this place. We both had steaks which were hearty proportions and cooked to perfection. The mushroom sauce was obviously home made and not something out of a tin. The chips and salad were a cut above the usual club norm, and hubby certainly had no problems polishing off the mash and veg.
The staff were very pleasant and certainly gave the impression that nothing was too much trouble.
Well done "Winners Circle"... you're a winner in our books.

Was our local for many years best friendly staff and a great value meal every time can only recommend very tasty cheap cold beer too, still drop in now & then and the best pub in Wallsend (-:

Very nice food was delicious
Staff were very friendly and even offering to help everyone check in which was a nice touch
Glad I took the time to have lunch there with my kids thank you

This pub stands out, the staff are friendly and make you feel welcome. We ordered food for a team night and were offered complimentary wine. On our way out they offered us a selection of snacks and treats. I've never had this anywhere else. A very heart warming experience. Thank you 😊

The food is always delicious. Good size meals. And not to long a wait.
Free complimentary glass of house wine with each meal or a soft drink as well.

Service is great, thanks to a new bar girl...sharnee or shardee. This workers happy infectious bubbly attitude can change anyone's day for the better.

Really nice food for a decent price. Nearly didn't get a table when we arrived about 6.30pm. It was very noisy but it cleared out pretty quickly. I like that the gambling area was completely separate from the dining room

One of those places even a born and bread Newcastle person hadnt heard of. Food and service was excellent. Value for money. Frendly staff made a off route lunch memorable. My steak was perfect and that mustard salasd dressing was the bomb. Complimentary glass of wine etc a nice touch. Thankyou.

Nice steak and beverage combo. Great staff. Cool and pleasant. It is a gambling venue but many older people visit for lunch.

Looked a bit of an odd place at first glance but the food was fabulous as far as pub food goes. We all had seafood meal. All were delicious and perfectly cooked. Salad accompaniment was nicely dressed and chips were chunky, crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. What more can I say... Oh great staff also!

I had a 450g Sirloin for $32. It was cooked perfectly. I used to walk past this place when I was shopping. Not anymore. The wife and I had lunch, drinks, dessert and coffee for $76. Sensational.

I ate and very much enjoyed the 450gram sirloin on the bone.
The accompanying potato mash and vegetables were excellent, perfectly cooked, well seasoned and piping hot.
The beautifully cooked steak was just to die for and a bargain at $28.
I'll be back, probably every week. Outstanding.

Haven't been into the Winners for a while.
3rd excellent meal on its way in a fortnight.
A wonderful restaurant area for couples, families or groups.
Staff go above and beyond to make your visit a special one.
Excellent menu selection for the budget savvy.

Great food always and the service for a small pub/bar is beyond exception bring around snacks during the day and the staff remember regular customers which adds to that personal touch highly recommended if looking for lunch or dinner, I worked in the hospitality and retail industry for over 20yrs and it's great to see a small business still providing that service 😊👍

Good place to take a break from shopping and have a beer, a feed and a flutter either TAB or the Bandits. Friendly staff, good service. Also allows for smoking in the VIP lounge (handy if you need that quick puff of stress relief after trolley war and item collection adventure that you have just participated in).

Good honest pub food. Large serves, although you can get a take away container for 50cents to take leftovers with you if you want.....very covid safe, a good place for lunch with my parents in law. Great for parking to. And ALL main meals come with a free wine, beer or soft drink. A solid meal for under $25..

Friendly staff and good sized meals. The salt and pepper squid was more peppery then what I have had before from other places, but still delicious. The chips were crispy and very tasty. The complimentary soft drink or glass of house wine when you order a main meal was a bonus. Also, it was good to see the bar tender use a napkin to get the straw rather then use their fingers. The cutlery was a bit hard to get out of the plastic packaging, but good to see covid safe practices happening.

Food was sensational. Can't believe I've walked past it so many times and thought that I should pop in just to keep walking.
Sadly they had sold out of the lamb cutlets when I was there :'(

Food is always good. Prices have recently increased as expected in the current market, but you still get a free drink with each meal.
