Worse steak ever like eating a piece of leather

We went in here for a lunch and a drink while we were in the area. I found that the food was just slightly above average, the atmosphere was pretty ordinary to be perfectly honest, we had to just about have a fist fight with the red head bar maid to get a menu and we had to wait an age for the food to actually come out. It wasn’t even busy.
First drinks were well and truely finished before the meals came out.
If you don’t care about service, atmosphere and aren’t in a hurry then you might enjoy the food and the place.
It needs to be said that the food was nice… but it was well and truely overpriced. Won’t hurry back because of the above

We occasionally get lunch orders from here but very disappointed with our takeaway order today. Told 12:05pm pickup but had to wait around until 12:22pm. Ordered rare rib fillet steak but got the rib eye on the bone that was very well done. Ordered a chicken burger with sweet potato chips and received normal chips, despite it correctly being written on the box. The burger had egg on it which I didn't order. Didn't receive tubs of aioli sauce that I asked for. It wasn't even busy so there was no excuse for these mistakes.

Went to a birthday party.... first visit .... parking good ... atmosphere good .... food average .... most food was either Luke warm OR COLD .... had risols, and they appeared pre-cooked a number of times as outside was like a crust .... potato was from a packet ??? ... the chips were half fried from frozen and were uneatable AND COLD ..... staff did offer to have the meals reheated.... most probably microwave..... but we declined the offer and just ate what we were comfortable with.
Last visit. Would not recommend.

We enjoyed some dishes but others were just average pub food but a good size. Cob loaf was great. Would go back if in the area.

We as a birthday group of 10 had dinner here tonight, my burger paddy was black and chard! I couldn’t eat it! When clearing the table the waitress saw it and said ohh! I said I would be interested if the chef said this was acceptable!
An hour later we left with no response! I am but one complaint but they obviously don’t care what people think!
I didn’t want a refund or a free drink just simply recognition and an apology but again they dont care! We are locals and will never go back! If we had an apology I wouldn’t give this review but they people need to know what their attitude is towards the public.

The staff were amazing, but the food wasnt very nice. The ribs & chicken wings came out cold and just so bland. The tavern has so much potential for good vibes !

The staff is awesome i had a last minute dine-in at 8:59 PM as my b-day party and team was more than happy to serve us, I really appreciate the people who work there.
I Really loved the food as well, even it was the last dine-in of the day, the food was insanely good.

Service was great, nice staff. Food and drink on the other hand, was disappointing/ disgusting. Drinks were flat, chicken parmy had no flavour with enough melted cheese to kill a cow. Chips were so blonde I question if they were even fried, salad was nice though. Chicken wings were as if they had been boiled not fried and we couldn't even finish half of the half rack of Ribs. The chicken nuggets kids meal tasted far better than the adult meals.

Saturday lunch, got the Parmy and the ribs and both were pretty darn good. Lovely crunchy crumbed snitzel with a fresh salad and crispy chips, which a lot of places even fail this basic. Topping on the parmy was bloody delicious as well. The ribs were fall off the bone but a tad sweet for me, good nonetheless anyway. Great little pub with everything being nice and clean too.

Reserved a table and arrived promptly for our farewell team dinner. Each of us ordered via the scanner on the table and have dined before and know food doesn’t come around at the same time although the kitchen does their best to make sure they do.
At 1900: The young waitress dropped the last of the ready meals & asked if everyone had received their meals to which our last person on the table said “no”, she hadn’t and that we were waiting on a club sandwich. 20 minutes later and the waitress
Did not return with any update. The receipt showed she did order at 18:25 and the waitress was shown this when at 19:15 we asked for an update.
At 19:20, The manager then came out and insisted a club sandwich came out. It didn’t. Otherwise this would have been in front of the customer and flat out made it seem like she was lying about not receiving a meal. 9 other people were on this table all with meals in front of them. Check the cameras. There were 2 facing the table.
I have worked in far busier establishments and never have experienced such poor customer service like shown from this manager. To make someone feel bad for not receiving their meal and making their colleagues wait while she try organise why her food didn’t come out was just flat out unprofessional.
In the end. Our friend was left hungry and disappointed.
This was a shame because the meals that came out were actually good and service from
The bartenders Monday night was good.
Normal way to deal with this scenario would be to listen, apologise, ask for receipt, acknowledge the error and rectify it…. Promptly. Ensure that waiters actually follow up on meals and communicate with the kitchen to reduce wait times.
This was not done at all.

The venue was great 👍
I gave 4 🌟 for service as a couple of our group patrons were waiting for their meals well after some had finished meals.
We were well looked after otherwise.

The Tavern were very generous in spirit throughout the day, start to finish. They looked after all of us as we would our loved one's
From drinks at the bar to food from the chefs to service by all staff, they have a winning formula.
Great team moral, which left us completely content and satisfied

My partner and I came for a valentine dinner and unfortunately were very disappointed with the food considering we have ate here many times previously and it was great. Unfortunately this time the food was not what we expected. When you hear creamy carbonara you would expect pasta it came with rice which just made it mushy, and for desert we had a banana bread bottom cheesecake but it was like they got a block of cream cheese and placed it on top and it was absolutely disgusting. The atmosphere was beautiful and the staff made us feel welcomed although I’m not sure I’ll book for another special occasion.

Me and my family of 4 usually go to race view but one of my cousins had come in yesterday night 27/1 and said this is a great place for food given it was ALH, so we came in today for lunch and it was amazing! Food was quick, hot, fresh and just lovely tbh, service was great too. Amazing front of house awesome chefs in the kitchen! Will 100% be coming back

Lovely venue, but the food was sadly dissapointing.
Dont order the thai salad - A flavourless bowl of vermicelli drenched in coconut cream, carrots, cucumber and chunks of red onion. Glad I ordered the side of chicken as i couldn't manage to get through the salad .
Chicken parmi was dry, even with all of the extra toppings.
Kids pizza was highly rated.

I had the eye fillet & the share platter both were delicious! My steak was perfectly cooked. Kids had spag bol with fries which they throughly enjoyed. Overall fully recommend for a family dinner whether large or small groups. Outside playground for kids, plenty of seating, order from table.

If you live in the area then it’s not a bad choice. We had BBQ chicken pizza. It was lovely but took a long time to serve. I waited at the bar for a while to order as there were no staff to be seen. It was reasonably busy but not frantic so I had expect to see someone behind the bar. Staff were friendly when they did turn up.
Overall it was a bit tired looking and needed a deep clean and spruce up.

If I could give a review that was less than 1 star I would. To say it was a sub par experience is over stating the mark.
We had a table 10 people. The kids meals came out quickly and were what you expect. You can’t go wrong with hot chips and a mini pizza or burger.
After 45 minutes, 1 of our party enquired about how much longer and was told (with attitude) that there was a delay of 45 minutes. The place was not busy with many vacant tables.
When our food finally arrived, my husband’s pie was hot but the gravy, mash and mushy peas were stone cold. I complained to the staff about my husband’s meal and was told maybe there was a problem with the bain-marie.
My salad was swimming in dressing but edible.
My son’s steak and vegetables was also cold and inedible. Other meals were barely passable.
To say we were disappointed is an absolute understatement. Over the past 20 years we have enjoyed many meals and celebrations here and have loved every one. Sadly this is not the only time. A few weeks ago we had family visiting on a Tuesday night so went for dinner. Not a busy night either but the wait times were incredibly long. The lamb cutlets were raw in the middle. My chicken was undercooked.
Sorry we won’t be back.

Here for a 70th Birthday party, the staff and venue could not have been more helpful, so good to deal with. Great venue, awesome food and fantastic customer service

Great meals, well cooked, generous portions good flavour and served quickly. We booked and the two zones told us we booked in the other zone I.e.bistro and ale house. We were allocated outside in winter with a 83yoa guest. The staff did change out seartng to a booth inside and we had a good evening from then. Thank you for the service.

From my 1 and only experience at the Y bar. They left the bar unattended for 5 mins while they saw me waiting. The only food I had was the cobloaf. It tasted alright and was a decent size, but didn't fill 2 adults, and if you opted for the chips, it was a massive bowl. They have an actual smokers lounge, good area inside

Desserts were $10 and delicious, we had the poached pear (needed a bit more poaching but tasty all the same) and the creme brulee (yum). The weekly special was a fish dish with pea puree, it was nice but seemed to be lacking something just not quite sure what. The boys were happy with their steaks, my in laws happy with their fisherman's basket style meal, my nephew happy with his chicken king avocado dish, and the kids loved their burger kids meal and nuggets kid meal (usually they don't eat as much of it!) With their chocolate frog in a jelly pond dessert they were stoked. The fruit tingle cocktail was delicious. I will say just one thing non food related - the automatic doors right nearby had us all wishing we were dressed for sitting outside as, with a massive 13th party booked outside, they were opening and shutting constantly and it was COLD. I don't know if there are heaters for the outside booking but wow the breeze coming in constantly at the doors was awfully chilly and not ideal for our baby and I. Kids didn't get to go to the playground as it was too cold but it looks amazing. Staff were lovely also and plenty of parking. We were placed a couple of steps up however so with the pram had to carry it up, I'm sure wheelchair access would remain on the lower seating. Thanks Yamanto!

Dec 23 - went in for dinner last night and had a couple of the specials. Cob loaf was amazing and then had banana spring rolls and the house waffles.
I was seated near the pass so got to see alot of meals come out and all looked amazing.
Emily was doing a good job clearing glasses and plates off the floor and running meals when required. She's friendly and a good worker.
From 2020 - 4☆ - Went in for lunch, friendly staff. Party and drinks great!! Salmon cooked well, just personally not a fan of the sauce or vege.

Came for Sunday lunch with a senior person. Seniors lunch is $16 and the portions are generous! Quiet on a Sunday. Good portions, and good food at comparable prices. Meals served with chips and salad all seemed to have the option of mash and veg. Seniors dessert was $5 (though we didn’t have any this time). Good selection of beers on tap, and four non-alcoholic bottles beers too.
My senior guest could only eat half their meal and the wait staff kindly packed it in a bio container to take home. Would say your experience would be mixed depending on the wait staff who supports you. One was one was sweet and friendly, the other had a bit of “whatever” attitude.
Place was neat and clean, and bathrooms were fine.

Came for lunch with my two teenage children, ordered three entrees and three mains. The chicken schnitzel itself was pretty tasty, and the ribs were cooked well, the garlic bread was good too. Friendly service and good atmosphere (minus the flies). Unfortunately, the calamari was very fishy smelling and came with a rotting bit of lemon, the chips were undercooked on all plates, the pork belly bites were waaaaaaay too sweet, and the my daughters plate came with a bit of rotting corn. Not what we were expecting for $125 worth of food. Disappointed with the food, wouldn’t eat here again but it seems like a good place for a cold drink.

Amazing food, service & kids playground! We had a group of 10 & everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. Large, fresh tasty food. Even the side salads were fresh and perfectly dressed. It’s so refreshing to actually get a good meal for the cost. The staff were lovely and quickly accommodated our big group with no booking. Thank you so much!
